    Production value is INCREDIBLE! I stumbled upon this game in one of my Amazon suggestions and ordered Box 1. This is pretty dang close to a perfect game for me, easy enough to play with my children yet has enough geeky RPG elements to really interest me. I have since purchased boxes 2-4, and also ordered some sleeves. Once Season 2 is easier to find at regular price I'm sure I'll get that one too.

    You can also buy them seperatly. two characters per battle box. Treant vs ninja, Barbarian vs moon elf, Monk vs paladin and pyromancer vs shadow thief.

    Boy, Tom, I should have watched this before watching your DTA review. Nice to hear your excitement for this game. Still think your comments on DTA had some issues, but nice to see you touching on some of the great aspects of Dice Throne 1vs1 here.

    After getting season 2 and seeing the new production quality, I was thrilled when they announced they would be re-vamping season 1 to match the season 2 style. It's so nice to have each character packaged in its own tray ready to go. And I agree, this game is just fun. Probably my favorite two-player game, at least when I'm looking for something light-hearted. It's certainly underrated in stores and I am doing my best to introduce it to shop owners to try and get it on shelves.

    My wife and I have been loving the battle boxes! Battle Yahtzee is a ton of fun.

  • @Camj41
    @Camj41 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I love Dice Throne! The DT family of games (S1 Re-Rolled, S2 and DTA) is definitely in my top 5 all-time games.
    It's the perfect blend of dice rolling, push your luck, card play including dice mitigation/altering and different heroes with powers and great themes!
    If you are interested in trying this game out, both Season 1 and Season 2 battle boxes are split into 8 smaller boxes (4 for S1 and 4 for S2) containing two characters each.
    The smaller boxes are cheaper (unless you plan to complete a season, then the battle box is cheaper) and are a great investment for trying out the game.
    I suggest getting S1 Barbarian vs Moon Elf or S2 Gunslinger vs Samurai because these characters have a lower complexity rating.

    • @ShiYuMeng2
      @ShiYuMeng2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, the battlebox is cheaper, but I really do like the 2 pack boxes. I have season 1 (original) and all of season 2 in the 2-packs. The 2-packs look much nicer on the shelf but are more expensive.

    • @Camj41
      @Camj41 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ShiYuMeng2 Yeah, the art on the 2 pack boxes are sweet! I would not have minded if they were on one side of the battle boxes.

  • @nusakan1713

    Nice marble effect on those dice. Are those kickstarter exclusive? Because I've bought S1 rerolled as 4 seperate boxes and they have regular dice.

    • @ikke2902
      @ikke2902 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are not kickstarter exclusieve. The swirly dice are only available in the battle chest with 8 characters. They can be bought directly from the dicethrone website directly. Battle boxes with 2 characters has normal dices. On the dicethrone website you can buy ninja and treant Champion edition. This is a two character box with swirly dice.

    This game is quite fun, but the rule ambiguity can be very annoying even with the 2.0 update. Almost every game I come across an unanswered question about a situation, often with timing.

    • @rawkyle9385

    So you already have King of Tokyo and you dont really have a room dedicated to game storage. Do you buy this game? I feel like if we played KoT one day, then playing this the next would be like eating Chinese food two days in a row. I personally dont know of any other KoT -like games, but KoT doesnt really have any major faults.
    ALSO: Can someone explain the integration with other Dice Throne boxes: "Dice Throne", "Season 1", "Season 2", "rerolled" ,"Marvel", etc Can you mix Marvel Dice throne with vanilla?

    Reviewing the Rerolled edition without being able to compare it to the original Season One edition is a missed opportunity. Tom should have obtained a copy of some of the original Season One characters to be able to highlight and show the changes to production, boards, and artwork.

      Sell your OG copy and buy the new version. Plenty of games are getting reprints with better component, rules tweaks etc. A few years later is fine, it’s not like there is a second edition after only a few months or something. Like for my Carpe Diem game they have released 3 versions in about one year, that’s kind of ridiculous....
