No HANS if he's in factory belts! The KWs are very harsh on the streets......I've got a lot of trees miles on mine, mostly to and from tracks. Tset drive one before you pull the trigger.
I absolutely love it, my 987.2S manu is waiting for a new clutch and I just can't wait until I exercise the engine again, it's so addictive. Question for you - would you recommend KW suspension for the street? Cheers!
thanks a lot man! Yes the car is quite addictive :) For the street I think KW V3 is a very good choice, and I think some Bilstein coilovers would also do a great job (maybe a tad cheaper than KW)
Thanks man - good question and very good point here => The safety with my configuration is not perfect. I do not recommend it. You are right, I should be wearing a Hans. The Lack of Airbag does not worry me too much since I am using a harness. But because of the harness my neck is not well protected in case of a frontal crash. I recommend using all possible security features when driving on track
Interesting note about the GT3 brake cylinder. When I jump from my GT3 into my wifes 987.2 brake feel is for sure one thing that is big difference. 987.2 is so soft. So you say that changing the master brake cylinder will improve the brake feel considerable in the 987?
simple answer: absolutely :) The part is not very expensive and it is not too much work. You don't obtain the exact same rock solid feel you have in a GT car, but it gets considerably better.
@@tobitetdebit2330 Thanks - I started to look into part numbers but it seems like there are some alternatives. You don't happen to know what part number your brake cylinder has? (I hate to bother you...)
Hey - yes the gearing can seem a bit long. But it does fit the car well and allows a very high top speed so I think it works pretty good. Engine mods are not that simple when you do track driving => most of the time it will cost you reliability and can take away the confidence you have in your car IMO. Investing in weight, suspension and driving skills is the way to go :)
The Facelift engine should have no bore scoring because it's a closed deck block. But you're right: who knows ^^ Track use is tough on engines so let's hope I give it enough care and love so it wont let me down :)
@@tobitetdebit2330supposedly the 987.2 S is still susceptible because of the stock forged piston + Alusil cylinder liner combo. The 2.9L 987.2 engine doesn’t have the problem. The fix is the normal transition to better pistons (with more clearance) and Nikasil sleeves. I doubt it’s as big of an issue as with the 987.1 S but it’s something that still worries me the more I read. I take ownership of a 987.2 S on Saturday. Good thing is it’s all fixable… for a price
@@chipattack912 good to know! Thanks for the information. And congrat for the purchase :) Enjoy the car, try not to worry too much about possible failures because in a few years all these petrolhead pleasures will be forbidden anyway 😅 By then we will all be driving 2,7 ton Electric cars so we can """"""""""""save the planet""""""""""" 🥲
Yes and no :) for sure the GT3 has more power, but i think driving at this pace on the nordschleife does demand an effort in any car. The GT3 driver was definitely not chilling in this video :)
Glad to hear that you like the GT3 master cylinder. I'm installing mine tomorrow. You had much better lines than the 991. Great driving.
I love the little version of your car on the dash.
Fun fact: the car on the dash is my old Honda Integra type R :) because I still think the Integra is the best car I've ever owned :)
Who the hell takes a Miata and a Camaro to the Nurburgring! Funny as hell. Great driving and video.
Impressive drive, love it!
Looks like fun!. My neck is sore after watching the video.
Great driving.

Onlins road/track are also highly reviewed, watch Jarko Lind on his channel. 981 Spyder here after 18 years 987 Boxster S w/ Bilsteins.
@@clu4u true! Do we also get them in Europe? With tüv approval?
Great driving. Similar cars, the GT3 has more power and weight is a bit less.
Them damn BMW.s are always in the way.
GT3 weighs more than a Cayman.
Great driving there mate! Do you not worry about an accident with no Airbag and no HANS though?

got central radiator?
Hey - no central Radiator - never really needed it so far because I usually don't drive very long sessions
Glad I read the whole discription, I was ready to cancel the cup 2 tyres I ordered for my cayman.
Such long gearing, needs a shorter final drive. Also why do all that work and do no engine modifications??

Yep, with a bmc filter for the sound :)

road driver in race car
vs
race driver in road car
This really shows how much effort it takes to catch a gt3 and how little effort the gt3 uses to stay ahead

Nada mais do que a obrigação.
É até covardia, uma disputa como essa.
Dammmmm
Must have been dumped by his girlfriend to drive like that. Fantastic !
No it's OK she's still here 😅
Thinking about buying one can this car be tuned
hey - do you mean an engine tune? I dont think you can do much on an NA engine. And the car already has plenty of power imo :)
These cars are great to drive with the screaming engine behind you…power is not the issue - your driving skills are usually the limit (…mine too)
