    Palps: STARES IN SITH.

    Ok, I wouldn't classify the Mandator IV as a superweapon. It's a siege and bombardment ship, nothing more.
    You also missed a few other superweapons used by the Imperial remnant, including one you actually mentioned while talking about another one. Specifically, the Eclipse, the Eclipse II and the so-called "Death Star III" which was an Imperial Worldcraft modified with an axial-mounted composite beam superlaser.

    For canon i also believe there is the onager class star destroyer. Which is basically the canon version of the conquerer. With an axial super laser. Excellent video as always

    Now if only the Xyston-Class Star Destroyer of the Sith Eternal fleet was something unique, rather than the Imperial 1-Class upscaled 1.5 times. As an example, keep the canon Axial superlaser design, but place it on the ventral side of the Legends design of the Praetor Mark II-Class Battlecruiser.

    If you ask me, of all of these superweapons the Conqueror is by far the most practical one. It's a reasonably sized ship that could be used as a backline "sniper" ship for taking out key targets in a single shot. The fact that it could destroy a moon or crack continents should really have been seen as icing on the cake.

    A correction: World Devastators were designed as mobile factories. When they attacked worlds they used the materials they tractored as raw materials to manufacture weapons for the Empire. Tie Droids as an example.

  • @SkepticalChris

    The Galaxy Gun easily would be considered the best, since it was able to be protected by a massed defense fleet, all the while launch attacks on any target in the galaxy without needing to move. The only reason it was destroyed in the novels, was because of the single stupid star wars trope, of everyone ignoring Droids.

  • @jayburn00
    @jayburn00 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I know some of the super weapons are disliked in legends, like the sun crusher, but they are at least original. The Disney canon is just more super lasers mostly. In legends you have star killing weapons, bio weapons, planet eaters, hyperspace missiles, invulnerable fighters that kill stars and ram star destroyers, sith meditation spheres, the eclipse class super star destroyers, center point station (which is also tool for building solar systems as well as destroying them), and that doesn't include the stuff from galaxy of fear and the old Republic mmo which have even more.

    • @ImperialsExplainedStarWars
      @ImperialsExplainedStarWars  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As you point out there are more superweapons as Star Wars Explained has covered in the past. However, with my list, I am covering just superweapons covered by the Galactic Empire and imperial factions.

    • @jayburn00
      @jayburn00 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ImperialsExplainedStarWars I know, but even the imperial factions had a greater variety and type of weapons. Again, star killers, world eaters, planet busters, bioweapons, hyperspace missiles, weather controllers of various types, and planet freezers (weapon that literally was a freeze gun on a planetary scale I think, or something like that) were all created by the empire in legends. And the early books of galaxy of fear were focused on an imperial weapons project that was made up of multiple weapons.

      a lot of the EU doesn’t make much sense either and it’s been collectively around for about as long as the Star Wars brand has existed. The new canon (which actually started out explicitly as canon, unlike almost all the EU works) has been around for barely a decade.
      They flubbed it early on by going too big too fast, but there’s still plenty of time to see more cool new stuff happen made possible in part by Disney’s basically bottomless quintillion dollar budgets.

      @@panos617 half of them don't work with each other and never have - most of the early Thrawn novels are rendered moot because they're utterly contradicted by the entire prequel trilogy and the actual Clone Wars.
      you don't need quotations either. You, me, or anyone else can cry as long of a river as they want, but that doesn't make it any less official. It also doesn't mean you have to suddenly stop enjoying the other stuff. It's still there. Go read or watch or play or whatever. Literally nobody is stopping you.
