      I'd say Fractalsponge is better but he focuses more on Imperial ships, Fractal's LAAV is imo way better than the LA-AG, having a much wider troop bay that can carry a full platoon. Fractal's Imperial Nebulon B also feels more like a production model while EC Henry's feels more like an early prototype. EC Henry is the best at rebel ships though.

    The LAAG is honestly sick except for the oversized wings, I feel like the wings should atleast fold into itself like a tripod when it's in a hangar.

    4:19 given its size I’d say it could easily hold 80 squadrons of fighters.

    • @PurgeTrooperProductions
      @PurgeTrooperProductions  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      personally I think 80 squadrons is to many because that would be 980 fighters and to me that feels like to much even for the size! but nice idea

    That Magistor by Howy definitely has the capability to carry 20 squadrons. Probably 5 or 6 of these would be the XG1s and missle boats he's depicted. I would imagine the TIEs and bombers are loaded in bays in the front as well as on racks in the inside hangers. I think what howy was going for was a more "imperial" / updated-Secutor design.
    Also the Nebulan-B has plenty of firepower to serve as an escort, thats why it was created in the first place. To serve as a convoy escort and guard imperial shipping lanes. It has great detection and communication, and is an excellent carrier for its size. Only ship I'd take over it would be the Carrack, another excellent Imp ship.
    Only reason the rebels used the one we see as a medical ship was because it was severely stripped down for parts and had its reactor switched out. The NR tore apart ships like this to supply their Mon Cal fleet in an effort to match the empire.
    Great vid, and yeah these are all part of my head canon as far as I am concerned haha

    Exodus class heavy Starcarrier, inspired by Earth based aircraft carrier

    I like you're design idea for the Imperial ASC, I imagine it being a cross between the Fondor Haulcraft from Andor and the head of a AT-AT being well armored and providing a high survival rate due to the fact that it maybe carrying command staff.
    And yeah the Magister Class is just the Star Destroyer version of a Lucrehulk in my opinion.

    2:15 Hey, just so you know: we have seen the Nebulon-B in Imperial service many times since the mid-1980s. It looks… the same as the Nebulon-B in the movies. Because that's its original design. There's no need to force a different design onto the vessel just to "Make it look more Imperial", removing any character the design used to have - this is the same reason I hate the Arquitens it's just a micro ISD, no creativity at all. The Raider corvette is also guilty of this. Not every Imperial ship has to be a triangle. Before the Disney buyout, the Empire used Corellian corvettes (although more prominently during the Warlord Era), Nebulon-Bs, Dreadnaught cruisers, Lancer frigates and Carrack cruisers just to name a few.
    Henry's design could work as a Fel Empire era ship that was derived from the old design. But I was already surprised when EckhartsLadder praised his NebB, and the "reasoning" of the Rebel version obviously not being the original one, over the moon even though he should know better.
    Fractalsponge's designs have problems as well, mostly gigantic power scaling issues.

    I dont know how EC renders his images, but they invoke this feeling that I'm looking at pictures of practical miniature props and not 3D renders. It takes a special kind of skill to make you second guess if what you're looking at is a still frame from a deleted scene or not.

  • @darthvader6614
    @darthvader6614 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    What i'll say to defend the Magister, the empire *did* need all those fighters, the Rebellion simply had such more advanced fighters that the Empire only could respond in numbers due to Imperial Beurocracy, simply look at the hangars on the Quazar, Imperial Dreadnoughts and how the Venators were filled with even *more* fighters in the Imperial Era.

    • @PurgeTrooperProductions
      @PurgeTrooperProductions  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      that is true but a single ISD can carry a little over 70 fighters (cant remember exact number right now) and though we almost never see them use all their fighters, just 70 ties could overwhelm a single squad of X wings (12 ships), While the ISD could take out any carrier if they had one (unless it was a ship like the ghost).
      I do think the empire would have more problems if their were very skilled pilots flying the rebel ships but it would make more sense for the empire to just make more Defenders, Brutes, Inteceptors, and others instead of the magister!
      I know like it sounded like I was hating on the Magister but it is a great ship that could have been very usefull, I just think that the empire should make other ships instead!

    EC henry is the GOOOAAAT. I've seen other artists too and they're very good as well, especially for some of the Mandalorian revamp concepts such as in army and naval designs.
