I think Beau accidently nailed it, but then never came back to it. "Cool" Peter was so lame and cringe because Peter Parker to his core is kind of a goober and he doesn't know what cool is. Emo Peter is a non-cool persons idea of what cool must be.

I saw this in theaters as a child and I remember two things from that experience getting initially scared of venom in the church and cringing at the dance number.
If I remember right. Rani wanted to focus on Sandman and have Eddie in the background to be ready for Spider-Man 4.The studio wanted everything shoe horn in and wanted dem big bucks
It would’ve been great to have stopped at him turning into Venom as a cliffhanger
upon rewatching the original trilogy, I was fully expecting to hate spider-man 3 but I found myself enjoying it a lot more than I thought - yes it was stretched too thin and venom wasn't as intimidating as we were hoping but overall it's a fun watch, a lot more than ASM2 at least

The reason Peter has trouble getting out of the wev venom made is its not the same as Peter's web venoms is more stronger
Would have made more sense to make John Jameson into Venom given that MJ left him for Peter.
It would have made him more sympathetic.
As an astronaut he accidentally brings the symbiot back from space.

I think Tom is the best all around spider-man. And he actually looks like a high school student. I haven’t loved Homecoming or Far from Home. I’m really hoping No Way Home is amazing.

The worst part of this movie is how HORRIBLE the couples treat each other. Gwen almost dies and Eddie is like "Cool you made it. Move, lemme get this photo". Spidy kisses Gwen in front of the press with the same inverted kiss he gave MJ. Then plans to propose immediately after that and doesn't understand why MJ is upset. Guess couples in 2007 were a lot different.

At no point ever should this Peter Parker be considered cool.
Spider-Man 3 felt long and I wished the villains had formed a team. But that being said the scene with Sandman after their transformation was sublime, the music the way he reached for his ring, Jonah was brilliant, but I wished the female characters did more than just scream

The worst part is the Uncle Ben retcon.
So heres how i've seen Bully Maguire which is how Raimi and Tobey described it. His geekeness is more jazz and classic music/film, and peotry. Hes a "60 year old living in a 24 year olds body. So when he gets the symbiote it amps his personality to 200 percent and turns into arrogance. Hence his dancing and shit. Raimi Tobey Kristen and Topher actually did a commentary about it and it really explains peters transition. When Brock gets the symbiote his personality amps up from anger/loser to murder. I really wish they would have just forgot about brock and had Harry receive the symbiote after peter instead. By the end Venom is complete and it's own entity like when brock is pulled out at the end and Spidey an Goblin have to fight it together.
Apparently Spider-Man 4 didn't happen because Raimi wouldn't be able to deliver it in time. Sony is under the deal that if they don't make a Spider-Man movie in 5 years, they're going to lose the rights.

This movie just has so much awkward dead air. It just plods along then speeds up until you get to a funny bad scene like emo Peter. Then again I’m not the biggest Tobey Mcquire fan. It’s definitely more competent than Amazing Spider-Man 2

Wow, you guys are insane thinking this garbage fire has no bad points and is better than The Amazing Spiderman and on par with far from home.
Toby is dire, the villains are a mess. Harry is lame, there is so much cringe and the actors have zero chemistry.
I rate both Amazing Spiderman films above these simply on the strength of Andrew alone, plus his insane chemistry with Emma Stone.
Kirsten and Tobey make me roll my eyes whenever they are on screen and all their relationship drama is god awful.
I love these videos but the lengths you guys went to to justify the bad stuff in this movie and destroy ASM2 just isn’t a good look when you listen to them back-to-back. Bias abound.

It's subjective, and I'm glad you're able to enjoy it. Your credibility is destroyed for me, but it's not like my opinion matters. I've seen this recently and it is one of the worst movies I've seen. I already hated this trilogy so it didn't really have a chance for me. But I've watch the other two before ever putting this on again.
