Let's be fair, Spider-Man makes the Avengers look like pussies in comparison when it comes to what he's dealt with. Peter's taken down some large-scale villains before. Hell, he's tossed and thrown tanks, trucks, etc. if we're talking about strength-level here, but also, he's gone toe-to-toe with the Juggernaut, Rhino, Hulk, Carnage, etc. Ya know, characters that would take the whole Avengers to take down? Lol If anything, Spider-Man's underrated in terms of what he's capable of. He could easily one-shot most superheroes if he really wanted to, but he won't because, well, Pete's a nice guy. He's "friendly neighborhood, not angry back-alley" (Spider-Man 2000 reference).

To be fair, the Arkham series combat makes 100000% more sense for Spider-Man and like 3 SPider-Man games had the combat style before Arkham Asylum even released. The only true thing TAS Game stole was the challenge modes. We only call it Arkham combat style cause it's the most popular game with that style, but Spider-Man did it all first.
Most games misunderstood the point of Arkhams combat it’s all about getting the Highest score possible through large unbroken combos and use of different attacks and gadgets
What I like about the LEGO games with Spider-Man is that his webs attach to the helicarrier. When you get on the helicarrier, Spider-Man can no longer swing (besides maybe one game)

I have to admit, one of my favorite features in the game is that as you take damage, your suit gets damaged too. Meaning you could end up swinging around the city wearing a shredded version of the costume. It's a nice little touch.

I actually liked the idea of fighting actual Gene spliced science projects gone wrong and for that I say The Amazing Spider-Man is one of the semi-best indie horror games on the market.
I was mildly disappointed in how you didn't tear the swinging mechanics apart in this one. It's so shallow and requires absolutely no skill. Sure it LOOKS cool but it doesn't make you feel like you're accomplishing any complicated acrobatic feats like, say, Spider-Man 2. Comparing these swinging mechanics to a decade old game like Spidey 2 is so sad. If they could make every single skyscraper a surface to swing from back then; why does the newer Spidey swing from the air? It just screams laziness to me and I hope Insomniac's Spider-Man addresses that. To better illustrate my point look up Spider-Man 2 race speedruns. Notice how dynamically Spidey moves and how momentum influences everything. Notice how a good player is easily seperated from someone who doesn't know what the hell they're doing. In the newer games not only is the swinging bare-bones but in case you suck at that too they give you web rush and the game basically plays itself. Sorry if I sound elitist but that is something that's been bothering me in these Spider-Man games ever since I played Ultimate and 2. I don't mind if the swing mechanics aren't deep if it's a linear game like Shattered Dimensions but in an open world spidey game it's inexcusable.

The open world is bland and dead with nothing to do other than a few sidequests and collecting a ridiculously large amount of comic book pages. +Santiago Faria *Hell yes!* As soon as Spider-Man started swinging the first thing I noticed was whether he swings thanks to God or buildings and lo and behold, it was buildings! Thank you Insomniac! Combat looked loads better than the Amazing games. People are quick to mention that it resembles the Arkham style as if that's a bad thing. I never expected them to reinvent the wheel when it comes to combat. It definitely doesn't look like a carbon copy as in the Amazing games. For one thing, there's a lot environmental interaction. Besides, don't forget that Spider-Man 2 did the whole "dodge, attack, dodge, attack" gameplay thing first. Batman fleshed it out and made it look a lot better. The abundance of QTEs did make me raise an eyebrow but I understand that it's E3 and they need a good spectacle to please the casual observer. I just hope they won't get too crazy with them in the final product. Despite all this, I still remain cautiously optimistic about the game. It's way too early to get excited. Unrealistic expectations can really take away from a solid game.
I realized why I enjoy your videos besides the context, when I was a kid I absolutely adored the ultimate Spiderman video game, your voice reminds me of the voice actors, or maybe it just fits in my head. Either way, cudos.

Umm.. it WAS "the" clone Peter dumped in the chimney, wasn't it? As in Ben Reilly. Ben wasn't dead and climbed out, and went on to live as Ben Reilly, until returning when he got the news of aunt May's bad condition.
But then there was Kaine Parker, Spidercide, the 5 year decayed clone skeleton that was in the smokestack that wasn't Ben or Peter somehow, and the short clones dressed as Jackal. I got a little confused trying to figure out what the hell was happening when I wrote that joke.
I actually really like this game and I like the take on the character in this universe in fact I consider the true amazing Spider-Man 2 since it had a better story and was more fun. Wish Andrew voice Peter tho or at least josh Keaton. Plenty of nostalgia with this game as much as shattered dimensions and edge of time.
the “city on fire” plot is just a super interesting idea to me. Infected by a virus while Spider-Man works around the clock to cure it while it slowly escalated and gets worse and worse
I actually liked this game. I liked the idea of Spideys enemies being like him. Cross genetic beings or something. The graphics were amazing, the swinging animations great, the open world was ok. I don't know, I have a sweet spot for this one. And no, this game wasn't my childhood.

I actually like this game. I also like when Spider-Man’s suit is ripped. The game feels so dark and eerie and I like it. Like sometimes in Oscorp or in the sewers, you can hear growls and people yelling. I also love the soundtrack. (8/18/18)

Why does everybody hate on The Amazing Spider-Man video games? I have played them and the Insomniac Spider-Man games and they don't really feel much different as far as game feel goes. I actually really like this game and I like the take on the character in this universe in fact I consider the true amazing Spider-Man 2 since it had a better story and was more fun. Wish Andrew voice Peter tho or at least josh Keaton. Plenty of nostalgia with this game as much as shattered dimensions and edge of time.

I actually liked this game. I liked the idea of Spideys enemies being like him. Cross genetic beings or something. The graphics were amazing, the swinging animations great, the open world was ok. I don't know, I have a sweet spot for this one. And no, this game wasn't my childhood.

It looks super random that now we are at a pandemic situation and that some months ago New York was one or the most COVID 19 cases bruhhhh
I actually like this game. I also like when Spider-Man’s suit is ripped. The game feels so dark and eerie and I like it. Like sometimes in Oscorp or in the sewers, you can hear growls and people yelling. I also love the soundtrack.

This game is so friggen weird and bizzare that it's absolutely entertaining, I love the desperate attempts at using modern technology and memes, the inconsistent personalities, the ways it mimicks Arkham, and over the top shit you fight that dosen't fit the original movie at all, aswell as the insane ways it changes the story completely

I have played them and the Insomniac Spider-Man games and they don't really feel much different as far as game feel goes.
But I will tell you that all four of the games I played were freaking phenomenal, so I don't know why anybody is complaining about any of them.
