Not a Xmas dinner with no roasties so for that point alone it can only get a 3/10 at most

I've now seen 3 reviews of Spoons Xmas dinner and this was the most positive of all of them. A very generous score! Elsewhere the carrots and parsnips were inedible so you were lucky.
You could start with 10 and deduct points as appropriate:
No sprouts - minus 2
No roasties - minus 2
No Yorkshire pudding - minus 1
Processed 'turkey ham' slices - minus 2 = Total score of 3/10
No sprouts or roasties on a Xmas dinner is a crime against humanity. And the prices at Spoons have gone through the roof. Far better and cheaper elsewhere which probably explains why a lot of Spoons are almost empty even at peak times. My local one (Newark) has actually closed down.
Me too. Other reviews of this meal noted the lack of sprouts, roast potatoes and the processed turkey.
The one in gainsborough not far from Newark is always packed, BUT they do sell carlsberg cheaper than any other spoons I've seen, it was £1.99 a pint for years, but up to £2.39 last I checked

No yorkies on Christmas dinner due to no room with all the different veg, roasties and sprouts, but we usually have Boxing Day roast with yorkies, if we're entertaining.
No Brussels and no Roast Potatoes. Otherwise looks OK for a pub Xmas dinner.

Christmas adverts were awesome back then. Action man, Scalextric, Top of the pops latest album. Mousetrap and buckeroo were always on someones list. Good times. 🎅
It's probably a higher price because of the location. Blackpool promenade is notorious for being slightly dearer, so other branches of the chain may be a little cheaper.

In two days, it's Thanksgiving Day here in America. My daughter-in-law cooks a "killer" turkey (and it looks like turkey😊). Along with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, peas, collared greens, macaroni & cheese, and apple & pumpkin pies. I can't wait!😋

Have seen other vlogs of Spoons Christmas meals and they aren't as complimentary as yours. I would go with a 4. I have to have sprouts, roast tatties, and Yorkshire Puddings included in my Christmas dinner and I am from down South. Did they offer Christmas Pudding? 😁

My late father in law prepared a beautiful Christmas dinner years ago..he made yorkie puds and served the meal..a guest remarked.. Yorkie pud's dont belong on Christmas dinner..his stone faced reply was..well they do now...and the look said..eat it or go home..50 years on we still chuckle..and positively have yorkies with Christmas dinner..'its the law'..in our house anyway..🤣😋👍
With no roast potatoes it's hardly a Christmas dinner! The meal looked too Brake Bros for my liking. The peas had a colour resembling marrowfat peas, so bright green were they.

Hey hun I must say that if was a Christmas dinner. We're was the sprouts and the Yorkshire pud and for the price £14 45 day light robbery. No stuffing for me can't eat it. Lovely to see Steven again my score is 4.5 we're was the roast spuds and gravey xx

After shopping trips, we used to call into our local Wetherspoons for a 10oz Aberdeen Angus steak dinner, with a pint for approx. £12. It was some of the best steak which I've had. But in 2018 they changed meat supplier and the quality went downhill fast. Today, it's a very average 8oz sirloin still £12. Disappointing. ☹

I was in Blackpool last weekend had a great stayed on the doric christmas Market and light were really nice
Value for money I give it ten out of ten. In my local a pint is 5.70p and a beef burger is 12.50p.with chips.

13.52 with a pint of punk ipa when I had it the other day and it wasn't too bad. Especially liked the stuffing ball and pigs in blanket. Loads of nice flavours there

Some years ago we had a Spoons Christmas dinner. Where we sat we could see it being plated up. The dinner was all boil in the bag just like Gordon Ramsy.
Did you expect them to have ovens full of freshly roasted turkeys and spuds, ready to carve as soon as punters turned up?
I've just tried it, it takes me back to my late 80s early 90s primary school days, the smell and texture of it....but it was fairly tasty and with a large glass of wine included in the drinks deal it wasn't too bad...the glazed carrots were a nice touch!!
The day i have a Yorkshire pudding with my Christmas lunch is the day i paint my bum blue and run down the road naked lol😅
Brussels sprouts are full of sulphur, hence the colour. Great when you want to get rid of guests that have stayed too long.
Impossible to get a fresh, decent meal when the menu's that long. The kitchen/production line must be full of microwaves and deep fryers.

Yorkshire Pudding is an essential part of Christmas Dinner when it is seasoned with onion and mixed herbs, The best advert when i was young was the Triang Hornby electric train sets with a small Bernard Cribbins as the station master.
The last time I was in Blackpool my footwear got stuck to the carpet in Yates’s…it was like trudging through treacle😂.
A ride on the rollercoaster the following day cleared the senses😂

Not that I've had this particular meal before but I do remember having the pigs in blankets as part of the 3 small plates deal year or two back and thought the cranberry sauce which came with them was so sweet it was like having jam with your pigs in blankets 🙂

Will comment again. I know you did a trip to Jezzas Farm for a ploughman's and a burger. Just a suggestion if you travel south again. Try the food, especially breakfast or roast at the Angel in Witney. You would be impressed.

Pint of Ruddles Best for £1.77, wowsers, almost takes me back to the 80’s when growing up in Uttoxeter and I could go out for a night with a fiver, have five pints and still have change for chips, saveloy and curry sauce on the way home! Meal looks a bit like one of those frozen dinners from the supermarket. “You sunk my battleship” “Action Man, with gripping hands and Eagle Eyes”

Brilliant Lee when me and the family where in Blackpool at Halloween we went here for our breakfast everyday this was the first time we where ever in a SPOONS lol we found it very good and the price we found was great I had sent photos to the Blonde Angel of the eggs Benedict that my daughter loved i had the fry and we all enjoyed the cups ot tea and chocolate refills i loved it and would recommend it.
I think the eating on he rollercoaster thing was on Thats Life I remember someone with a milkshake going all over the place.
