As 37 year retire Diesel Mechanic & Cert Welder. Equipment always break down in the coldest, hottest, most unsafe conditions possible. I am almost famous for changing a Cat 992 driveshaft in 2’ of water. I had to go under water to get to other side of the equipment. Night shift throw that drive shaft out around 2 am. From 6:05am to 6:47 am I alone had it back into full production. It’s a tough job but Ok. 1 thing I had arms look like blacksmith arms then over swinging 5# + sled-hammers

@noname wrong. This is not grease and it inot sealant, he put some special paint. We call it "talking paint" ,because it is telling you if the planetaries are properly alienated. Without touching the satéllites so the teeth e this are not broken again. When you move de planetaries around and the blue "talking paint" comes up untouched, clean you can close the group, then you put the blue sealant and tied up the nuts.
Не совсем, он нагревом отпустил сталь на подшипниках. Охлаждается ответная деталь, не грей подшипник, хотя может он специально так сделал, чтобы не на долго хватило и к нему опять обратились.
My dad has always taught me to work like this. No special tools only brain power. He always says smart man over strong man. I’ve watched and helped him in mechanic work since I can remember and ive learned all his tricks to doing things without any special tooks
Video Clearly shows for itself ! Hands down ! Great job , not just the nuts and bolts of it all , but his understanding of why he does this the way he does !
I'm a retired mechanic after 43 years. You can learn something new every week. It's nice having the proper tools but when you don't you have to use your mechanical skills to make the job work. You just watched a good mechanic at work
Very skilled. See how he took his time to properly balance the differential by first putting on the blue paste spinning it and adjusting until it was perfectly balanced. Real attention to detail and all done without specialist calibration gear.
@@TheDougNutz Yeah my comment was aimed to be more sarcastic than anything. I just know how china views labor and safety. Which might as well be not at all.
I can't tell if the pinion bearings are used, but if they are new, the preload on the pinion is way too loose. When the bearings break in, it will loosen even more which can cause all sorts of different problems.
*Честно говоря,очень удивлён трудолюбию и железным спинам мужиков👨🔧Без условий и на земле делают довольно-таки сложные ремонты техники. Терпения вам и достойной оплаты труда👍*
I think its amazing you rebuild the ring and pinion. In Merica, We'd get the whole pumpkin, change the axles, then do wheel bearings inner/outer both sides with new fluid. Its cool to see it being rebuilt!! Well done!
i am truly blessed to have been allowed to watch this video. i am in awe and tears thinking what should i write. greatest video ever? whats the charge for this job? wow wow wow. the man IS the tool. it makes me feel so powerless, and yet, what i am doing going through is worse and yet i couldnt do what this guy does right now. truly inspiring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everything involved is an absolute miracle! the taping, the job, the watching of it, 3 days crammed into 19 minutes, wow..... wow wow wow in tears! bravo genteeeeelmen
I got a kick out of him scribing the caps with a saw. I tell ya, thinking about the stuff I complain about working at dealerships makes me feel weak watching these guys....half his jacket is missing! 💪 Rugged, props.
Very nice. Glad to see a man actually doing quality work. Most shops in the states charge double and order a referb instead of doing quality work at thier garage.
@@impavitus Lol a friend of mine used to work at a semi truck "shop". The "shop" was literally just a big metal awning over a dirt and gravel lot. That's actually how alot of semi truck "shops" are. Very similar to what you see in this video.
That jacket and the heat including the muffin as for me I would be welcoming my sleep under that truck roof, but I give credit to this passionable man for his work for withstanding these harsh working conditions.
just the inner race, doesn't heat up red hot because it'll ruin hardness. it just expands it enough to be a slip tolerance fit. he's grabbing the rollers anyways.
Hard working fella's!!! Impressive would be an understatement... I especially liked their ingenious method of lowering and lifting this 500 pound beast to & from the axle housing... I also noticed no use of PPE anytime during this process (safety glass's, face shields, welding helmet, etc.) , and did not see any jackstsnds, wheel chocks, loto equipment, etc. , but not sure if they were being used , or not... I hope they don't get hurt or killed doing this, before they retire from it....
All my respect to this kind of guys: outside, minimum equipment, and gets the job done. Like my dad and a few more I know. I loved the rope winding lifter. Sad that these people usually are underpaid (east bloc eu), so they regret later on undertaking such crude jobs. They deserve well equipped heated workshops and good salary.
Muito bom gostei esse conserto fica caro .. quando quebra não deve mecher com o caminhão do lugar o certo e tirar as pontas de eixo e puxar com o quincho pra não danificar o resto vidas peças .
And that's men that have no safety net. They work to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. They are true men who only know one way to work, hard and until the jobs done. My dad always said a true mechanic knows how to get the job done with his knowledge and tools available.
It was interesting to watch the skill and precise fitting solving the complicated tiresome bearing assembly of the heavy vehicle. My appreciation to you brother andvthe man who videoed it.
That was fun to watch. Seeing professionals do their jobs right is always nice, but seeing it in high speed was truly enjoyable. Where are they located, anybody know?

The correct number of ugga duggas
Gonna torque this to... A LOT 😅

Someone get my mans a new jacket lol and some decent tools!
What’s wrong w the tools? Only thing he really used was a couple wrenches and impacts... only thing he could have used was a trans jack for the diff
If it ain't broke..?? That jacket is just broken in. You know how quick they look like that when you work on vehicles ? Real quick.
Especially how these guys work off of the ground
bearings ruined, sand in differential, same customer in about 2-4 months. good job, man.
Yeah, I was kinda cringing at the blue bearing races.
And they worked harder rolling around on the ground than if they dropped the trailer and towed the rig to a shop

When he used the blue RTV tube head on the surface to create the layer instead of laying a bead, That was slick, I'm going to try that.
