The car goes straight every pass so we don't worry about it. Done 100s of wheelstands but this one went further than most.Short shift to 3rd it will come down everytime. I now have a wheelie bar on it but its under the bumper and it still pulls huge wheelies but it will not go past 200 feet anymore. Thanks for watching.
Hands down one of the most impressive 1/4 mile runs on youtube....This lady can race a car with nerves of steel!!!...shit I would have needed a pair of Depends myself to make that kind of run....Lisa you're awesome!!!
That almost made me cry. Loved it. One of the better in-car camera vids due to the 1st to 3rd wheel stand. Like the angle too. Full driver foot to helmet and full windshield shot.

Love the video. Love watching Lisa just go through the gears while still in the wheelie. Lisa is a great person and racer and Steve your not half bad either LOL Take care.
That is crazy driving skill! Great job. And to all the haters with the thumbs down I'd like to see you try that! I bet most of you have never run the 1/4 before.
@@americanpride9733 Watched many GOOD drag race videos. The pass was shown more than once, once in slow motion from inside and outside the car. Then in the pits the car got a walk-a-round and the engine was shown along with some info from the driver about the run and some details about the car and engine. THIS WAS A REAL HALF-ASS VIDEO.
Well from what i've seen in other videos that's the way she wants it. Oherwise there'd be some wheelie bars, etc. But you gotta have faith that car is going to go arrow straight down that track when you stand it up.
+Tyler Luckenbill -- Actually, the suspension does NOT 'need more tuning'. Cars with close to stock ride height with relatively high horsepower/torque usually need a good amount of weight transfer in order to hook up properly on many tracks. Had you attended AND paid close attention to many of the NHRA or IHRA Stock and Super Stock classes, you would have noticed what they do as well as figured out why they left the line with a usual wheelstand. If they didn't wheelie, most would not hook up as well, nor would they ET as well. 90/10 - 60/40 and similar shock combos have been used to help accomplish this weight transfer effectively for several decades. --- True, being on the back wheels only while shifting into 3rd gear is a bit excessive for optimum ETs. This car doesn't necessarily do 3 gear wheelies on every pass. A lower torque convertor stall speed, a different cam profile, higher final drive gear ratio, etc. could all be implemented IF that is what the owners chose to do while leaving the car's ride height and suspension tuning exactly the same. Doing any or all of the aforementioned would likely help to accomplish lower wheelies but it is NOT a guarantee this car would hook up and ET considerably better than it does when in the same tune as in this video. Lisa never had to lift while on this pass so she was hooked up AND at full power the entire run. Regardless, the owners are doing what they choose to do and more power to them. It is an exciting car for most any true racing enthusiast and they have a blast with their car. Apparently, that's what they want to do and neither you or I has a say in the matter, nor do we have experience with all the nuances of this particular car and the best way to obtain it's lowest ET. I'd be willing to bet they do.
OMG, I recognize that dashboard. Have had a 1972 and 1976 Dodge Dart. Mine had exactly the same level of performance, except totally different in every last detail.
Nothing better than seeing the car run the track in a matter of seconds and watching it take minutes to return. Gives you a real appreciation of the beast she is drivin :))).
You mean, she's got a better car then most out there... Anyone can do a wheel stand if the car is setup to do that shit. Much respect to the driver anyway...
I have probubly watched this 20 or 30 times now, i giggle everytime, at that wheelstand and how calm you are,you my good woman are are a beast ! all that after they kept you at the line for what seemed like a lifetime, crazy nice lick, keep putting them on the trailer you rock !!
Lisa - thanks for the reply. Have been to Samoa way back when I was younger. After I looked at some of your other video's I realized you have raced at Sacramento and Infinion and I know them well because I lived in Roseville for many years. Actually I used to help a racer you probably know of back when he raced a certain 1955 Chevy, that would be Dave Riolo who was a neighbor and long time friend. Had not been to Sac much in the last ten years, so probably have not watched you. Chris Borges may have raced against you, I will have to ask him. Very nice videos and it is good to see a car set up to run straight when only the rear wheels are on the ground.
My ex wife's grandparents bought Shirley Muldowney's house here in Michigan. That was back around 2011. None of that family had a clue who she was. I about freaked out when I first heard about it and nobody even told me until after the fact! Shirley gave them a copy of Heart Like A Wheel and they were all impressed with her story. Again by the time I found this out the deal was already done and they all parted ways. I would have LOVED to meet her. Could have told her stories watching her race top fuel at Indy back in early 80s. I can even remember seeing her race back in the mid 1970s at the old Detroit dragway. Don't remember exactly what event but also remember seeing Raymond Beatle in the Blue Max funny car that day too. I would have been single digits of age and stood next to the zoomies in the pits with the car jacked up during the warm up session. Bad for the ears please don't ever do that without hearing protection, as I did get permanent losses starting way back then because that happened on several occasions. I remember back around this time thinking Shirley didn't move that far away from the house she sold and got to thinking hmmm she is single and so is my dad... LoL, again I never actually got the chance to meet her. Another thing I would have done if given the opportunity would have been to bring along my portable practice Christmas tree and go rounds with the great Shirley Muldowney! She has done that a lot of times and has confidence in the car or she would have bailed on that. Great run, I’m guessing 10 second car? Awesome run, great driver.
