Nice. Takes me back about forty years and my 66 Stang that I smashed a pretty stout 351C/BW T10 into it. Ran mid 11's. Real fun until I finally missed a 2-3 shift and blew the motor. Didn't have rev limiters back then.
Just watched that run 6 times could watch it all day! Nothing like trying to rip the shifter of the trans and never lifting off the accelerator. Very well done!!!! Only thing that would make this video any better would be a distant corvette in your side mirror!!
I will say this....nothing sounds like a high strung SBF going through the gears. Must be the firing order. The mod motors that were before the Coyote sounded like this. Beautiful.
Aside from the engine sounding like a monster of a sb and the shifting being snappy as hell... That steering was fuckin boss. So quick and instinctual your line stayed what looked like perfectly straight even tho you were cranking the wheel like it was a drift car 😂
@@lettuce7378 Torque steer can be caused by a traction or torque differential between the steering wheels. The effect is only present in FWD and maybe some sub-par AWD vehicles.

This reminds me of a friend of my brothers in high school. He use to work at an auto parts store. He put a 350 small-block flat track racing V-8 in a Willis pickup, set up with full drag racing slicks. At my high school they, literally had a bleach box start area next to the school buildings for people doing burnouts at lunch time. (the high school had recently put in speed bumps). "Ken", had gone through the line and was frustrated at having to wait his turn to go again so, turning into the middle lane of the parking lot he stepped on it. The Willis went sideways tearing the motor mounts and axle out of the back end.
Now that the SBF has the Boss block option and the Dart SHP you can build nasty roller motors unless you went Windsor. For so long the aftermarket was expensive but now you can get heads and the top end stuff for reasonable prices. Fought with the 2-bolt stuff forever but now it is Boss 44-bolt and ridiculous power without fear of cracking. Boss 347 with Hellion 6266 but no way are we pushing it past 7200. A good 4 spd car. I love it. The motor sounds very stout. If may offer up a small tip,... (From 1 Ford guy to another.) You are getting through 1st gear real quick. Im just guessing but I would say your hp peak about 7800..? and peak torque is about 7000 ? If you grab 2nd at about 6800 you'll trim about .04 - .06 off the ET. The reason for that is the "rate" in which you are gaining momentum falls off running 1st up to max HP at 7800. With a 5.13 gear that window to maintain the same rate of gain is very small. So, although you are shifting into 2nd in peak HP, torque is what propels the car. Try it, and see what happens. Good luck bro take care..
this setup makes peak power at 7000 actually. The setup of the car is pretty old school and its treated as such, plus our track conditions aren't always the best around here so we play it by how the car feels. Shift points are adjusted based on the conditions, the light was 7200 here I think but the driver was around 7600 on a couple shifts. the 2.78 first gear doesn't help this car much out of the hole
