@@mr.frenchfry4448 Stands for Volumetric Efficiency. In that reference it may seem confusing, but you may have noticed driving lets say a manual 4 cylinder, in 5th gear at 50mph, 2000rpm… 20% throttle and 100% throttle doesn’t really make a difference. That’s because in that state, 20% throttle is giving that engine all the air in can inhale, so it would be near 100% VE @ 20% throttle - near atmospheric pressure in the intake. Thus opening the throttle to 100% is fruitless. Based on the sound alone, this small block is just about the opposite of that. Throttle for days.
@@tabor_experience Correct. You’d be changing the VE of the engine by using a different gear ratio for a given load. In that case the load being vehicle speed. It was the best example i could think of at the time on behalf of most 4 cylinders being rather gutless at low engine speeds and therefor the throttle isn’t very exciting until you’re screaming it. To whoever has driven a Viper - (any year, really) - this machine is the virtual opposite of that… tons of VE on tap pretty much always. Maybe not 6th gear at 40mph but those cars will gladly do it anyways…

scampman416 so in order to get the fullest out of this car you need to pretty much be a pro at handling these drag cars. Quarter about 10.5? I had a 440 Magnum in my 73 Charger SE for dragging. It did not pop out of the hole like this “short block” bad boy. My quarter time was 13s at maybe 115. I put a big 4 barrel on it and let it breathe. I’m pretty sure I was surpassing 400hp but as heavy as a tank. With a 2.92 rear I got it near 150mph. I ran 3:9x usually. It what I had. I love Mopar. My dad had a 68 Corvette 427/435 hp but tuning was hard. He lost a race to the seller of my Charger who had an expertly tuned 440 6 pack Roadrunner. Mopars took no prisoners, and their short blocks are the best, 383
A lot of high horsepower, or high compression engines need higher oil pressure. A stock 350 only has 10-15psi oil pressure at idle. A built engine could be running anywhere from 50-100 wot

I Love it! I know you're careful but sometimes cars ahead don't do what you anticipate. I blew in between 2 cars at 155 mph on my bike because one changed lanes unexpectedly. It was an eye-opener for sure. Also, brakes don't work well when the road gets bumpy. I can't get over how fast the engine accelerates, so cool.
There's something nice about listening to a super healthy small block in a light car with a manual transmission.
That car sounds excellent! Who needs a radio when you have that kind of music playing
I love the lil Scamp, but I especially love hearing that small block singin.

Absolutely nothing like an NA engine with tons of VE. Even if it takes nitrous oX. I can hear how scary that throttle is in the higher registers... Congrats man, you've got yourself a badass street car, something every gearhead wants. Mopar takes the money but gives the honey 😍😍😍
sorry but whats VE?
@@mr.frenchfry4448 Volumetric Efficiency.

@@scampman416 you've got a treasure there. Just be careful man. “I don’t always drive but when I do I never let the rpm get lower then 3,000-4,000”

Never kno it may only be 3speed 😂
Its like having a Hi stall converter, this has a slipper style race clutch in it and doesn't start locking up until 5000 rpm so 4th gear is useless unless you are 6000 + ( not the best clutch for the street ) but it saves braking drive line parts at the race track.
scampman416 so in order to get the fullest out of this car you need to pretty much be a pro at handling these drag cars.
