I am reasonably sure I could easily take that machine apart. Problem comes when trying to reassembly again. But only if you wanted it to ever work again. I can't even begin to imagine the engineering it took to design it and than make it actually work properly. You did a magnificent job refurbishing it and reassembling it and have to look great and work... You certainly earned a big Thumbs Up!
I mean seriously, the moment you took that back plate off, I was like " Nope......Nope..NOPE " you have some serious skill my friend. Well freaking done ! :)
Wow that is awesome how you restored that arithmometer to working order. Even more amazing is how you managed to put the gears and other parts back into proper timing with each other so that you could make accurate calculations in each mode of operation, as complex as the mechanism is. Anyway, it looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.
Really nice, but I am EXTREMELY disappointed you did not redo the Raggrinzante (wrinkle) finish. It's much more befitting the device, and far more elegant than a shiny piano black, but that's me, I guess.

Wow, beautiful work. It amazes me how you remember the intricacies. Even with the video I'd be lost.

If they were to manufacture one of those today, 90%+ would be plastic.
What was the spray that you used for cleaning the parts?
