Tonka toys were what most of us played with back in the day (early 70's), because they were built tough, rugged, and made to last! Always enjoy the detailed work and the final touches of said detail with the sticker placements at the end! Another great job, keep 'em coming, and as always thanks for sharing your work!
I had one of these along with the Grand Cherokee Wagon back in the early / mid-70s when I was a child. This brought back so many cherished memories from then. Thank you for restoring this. ❤
Just imagine how much joy the little kid got when that was brand new and how many other kids owned it and played with it and now it’s like it was just taken out of the box
I’m just an old guy that fixes junk in my shop but has done a lot of restoration in building. I like breathing new life into discarded junk. I have to say you do a great job make everything functional and looking like it came right off the shelf. Great job on you channel, I’m looking forward to watching.
@ Apple press interesting. My dad restored a hay press and a cider press he called it. Of course that was over 4 decades ago. It had a huge screw several ft long. It was set up for commercial uses where people would come from miles away with horse and wagon. We actually did all kinds of historic restoration but now at age 70 I believe those days are gone for me. I’m very interested in seeing your press. I’m glad you’re saving the old stuff. Marvin
I love your videos. You restore these pieces to their original look without taking shortcuts. In this "old rusty camper" video, you use powder coat on the bumper and grill. Why not use nickel plating? Just curious to understand the different methods and when and why to use them. Thanks
I normally don’t care too much for the paid/sponsored ads, but that one was very interesting. Looks like a great desk. I guess you guys do need to make extra money too. Great vid! Keep ‘em coming.
Very nice restoration of something worth restoring. I appreciate the thought and ingenuity that went into making the older toys. How they held up with our rough playing which they were designed to do. I have one that I need the side door for.
When I see you lavishing such love and care to restore these old toys, I sometimes think of the hours of happiness spent by some little boy or girl playing with them. Perhaps a series of little boys and girls over the decades. And that a part of those children somehow lingers in these inanimate objects. An echo of someone's childhood joy and imagination burnished in that old metal, plastic and rubber. I choose to believe that in the hereafter, those same children who touched and loved these toys will somehow be connected to your efforts and come to know what you've done.
As always... excellent work! Your work is very calming to my busy mind. I spend long hours at work restoring rental equipment and I can relate to the importance of paying attention to details. Well done 👍🏼 my friend!
Thank you so much for allowing us to watch your transformation from old to like new. I especially like the subtle message you share in the sign behind your workbench. I am fond of the toys but all of your videos. Thanks again, and God Bless.
That was amazing! I love seeing a loved toy bought back to life. Had a "Tonka" International Scout in the 60's, wish I could find another one in my 60's. Glad I found this channel, just subscribed.
The first vehicle I ever drove, my 1964 Jeep J 200 Gladiator. My grandfathers used to load up a boat on top and pull a camper from northern Indiana to Minnesota to go fishing until a guy who lived up there told him he needed to go to the Barbee chain in Indiana for good fishing! Grandpa said, "heck, if they drive down here I'll just stay home and drive the 15 miles to Barbee! " 😅 It had a 230 ci overhead cam true hemi inline six cylinder two barrel 'Tornado' engine. Had 2 M715s with them also. Great engine if you kept it tuned up. Had a shift on the fly synchronized Dana all gear transfer case and a 3 on the tree in which low wasn't synchronized. 😢 Could've used a 4 spd. Had a 540 rpm tractor PTO in the back. We had 2 of them, got them from the elevator who bought them to pull fertilizer buggies and spread fertilizer. I pulled a bush hog and hay equipment at times. Drilled wheat with my 715 and an old rope trip Minneapolis Moline monitor grain drill. Drove it every day to work. I don't want to hear any complaints from young guys about cold in the winter, slow, or rough riding! One time it was way below freezing and I was driving on hardpack, with the 715. I had the windows down to keep the inside of the windshield clear, and hadn't got the bias ply tires hammered back round yet. I had warmed up the 230 before I could ease in the clutch without stalling it in NEUTRAL warmed the tyranny oil, then put the T case in neutral and warmed it also then I took off. I hit the clutch at the stopsign and all four 38" swamper tires slid from all that cold 85w 140 gear oil and 5.87 gears! 😅
What a coincidence! lol Very cool! We have a truck camper as well. (An older Lance) They are neat little campers. Have a great time! Thanks for watching!

I like to work on things and have been recently designing a workshop. What sandblaster do you use and what is your set-up for the baked on paint? Other tools you use and maybe recommend? My work tables are in the works (I'm building them myself).
The sandblaster is a Grizzly g0707. For my oven I use a small counter top style food oven. I also use a regular electric cooking oven if I need bigger. I would like to upgrade the oven to a modified smoking cabinet soon. I will say, I’m not very impressed with Harbor Freight powder coating system. It works but can be extremely annoying. I would like to upgrade this soon as well.

Not sure besides custom ones.
Just a quick question. Why do you use JB Weld instead of body filler.
I’m guessing because of the high heat needed for powder coating.
Yes, JB Weld will withstand high temps need for powder coating.
