As an ex fast food employee, I’ve dealt with nothing but shitty people but nothing and I mean NOTHING ever made me wanna go this far. I worked in a fast food restaurant as a teenager. On my last night, I was working the graveyard shift, and someone came to the drive thru with a major attitude. My manager told me it's my last night anyway, and I'm welcome to spit in this customer's food if I want to. I did not.

I agree with using an attorney. Since the employee admitted to what she did, saving the saliva/drink as proof might not matter. If dead viruses (like COVID) can be identified in the drink, then that sure increases liability.
They owe this woman a lot more than this. Just the thought of this would stay with me FOREVER. I was a waitress for years and met horrible people and still would never think of doing this.
I worked for a McDonald's for over 8 years. Most of that time as a manager. I've had some very nasty customers, but never once even thought of doing anything to their food. That's just criminal. If I had ever caught an employee doing such a thing, I would have sent them home immediately, until they could be terminated. I'm curious as to where this employee went after being terminated. Most likely to another restaurant position. I know that if another employer called for a reference that the only statement McDonald's would give is that the employee did not give notice and they would not rehire. Not really giving much of a reason for someone else not to hire them. I feel so bad for this poor woman.

To intentionally spit or put bodily fluids into a consumer product that is to be ingested is a criminal act that should be charged as such. There is no excuse. I will add however I am always extremely considerate to those who will be handling my food and or drink. I've worked in customer service and dealt with the worst of people, I have never done something this repulsive. Spitting in someone's face is assault, spitting in someone's food should be too.

This happened to me about three years ago; A disgruntled employee one time at Jack in The box put hair in my taco even though she wasn't doing it to me purposely she apparently was doing it because she was mad at the company and the manager told me that she was about to be fired anyways, but I just never filed a lawsuit. It was the jack in the box in Oklahoma city on Reno and McArthur.

I’ve worked in the service industry for years and had many nasty customers but I had always treated someone’s drink and food like my own because it’s common decency whether they’re assholes or not, how someone can contaminate someone’s food/drink is beyond disgusting. I would never even do this to my worst enemy. It’s not only super malicious but there is seriously something wrong with your character if anyone thinks this is okay no matter how rude someone is.

Fr, this happened before with my brother a couple weeks ago, someone was black, we are black, but he only let the girls (I was somewhere else) on the ride, argued his ticket was scratched when the girls were too but he barely looked, my brother walked past him to get on the ride after the manager was called, he coughed in his face as if he pretended to cough normally when he walked past, the line was really long so we were able to get on the ride after some arguments and someone new came

Is a million justified? Why? I'd say 5000 dollars and more importantly, lock up the mcdonalds worker that did it. This is about justice more than a paycheck to be honest. Think about it, if she sues mcdonalds, the message is NOT sent to the workers on the line. Locking the worker up WILL send a message, that it's illegal and you will get thrown in jail. If she had been a bit older or immunocompromised, she would have most likely died. She also has two children that were put at risk by her exposure to COVID-19 through the worker. By letting an employee with COVID-19 handle her and other’s food in the first place and even allow her to go as far as to spit in it DURING A PANDEMIC OF ALL TIMES, McDonald’s should at least be sued for endangerment or something along those lines. For an employee like that to be hired and her spitting in food to fly under the radar (they didn’t even have proper security cameras to catch the incident, or so they claim), their managerial team must be lacking.
