Great video, very well made and quite informative! It's nice to see mechanics that are knowledgeable and enjoy teaching others their skills. Thanks for sharing this information with us, God bless!
Thank you for watching and the comment God bless you as well sir
Awesome video - now I know how to fix an Eaton Fuller gearbox :)
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
@@etrtruckcenterenginedrivet8918 I Love this video !

How do I no when to replace this ... Truck falls out of gear in 15-16 gear.
Can you replace a forward shifter top plate with the standard location plate?
Yes just make sure it is an overdrive top if you have an overdrive. If you have a direct top make sure it’s a direct. You can tell if it’s overdrive top by the round pin that is above were the shifter bolts down to the top plate.
when you put the transmission in reverse what action takes place to make that reverse plug rise up to hit the switch? I have an old 8 speed LL that was just rebuilt and when I put it in reverse the buzzer isn't working. However the reverse switch is good. (Press on the ball and the buzzer sings!) Seeing your video I am wondering if the that plug isn't in there? But again if it is? What mechanical action pushes it up?
There is a little plunger in there that rides against the low and reverse rail whoever built it probably lost it when they had it apart
15899 is the part number for the pin
Thanks! I ordered it.

Hey I just recently had my clutch replaced about a month ago...on yesterday I noticed the transmission slipping while cruising at about 68/70mph.i also noticed that when I turn the truck off it looses air quickly.what do you think is the problem?
If you have a manual adjust clutch you probably need to adjust it. As far as the air leak I have no clue are you hearing anything?
If your clutch pedal is stiff all the way at the top that’s a tale tale sign to adjust
when you tighten down all the bolts on the top case you cant get a gear if you loosen them you can get a gear .can you tell me what's wrong with it. its a 18 speed transmission and its a eaton roadranger transmission rto20918bp.
You have the wrong bolts in the top plate
The bolts are hitting the upper countershaft towards the front need to remove the top and check for damage
I have 18-speed eton transmission when I start driving morning time and to get the first gear it's hard to get in after two three-mile it becomes normal what do you advise me
Is this a late model truck? If so you may have a hydraulically assisted clutch pedal. Try pumping the clutch pedal several times before you try to put the truck in gear. You may be loosing pressure threw the master and or slave cylinder

It’s 2007 KW truck it doesn’t have hydraulic system it doesn’t have to trying grinding and the high low valve is not working the same time on morning when it’s cold i feel like something blocking me maybe there is a little free play on the shifting lever do you think that is the problem
How can I identify the trans when the plate is gone
That’s a good question. How many speeds is the transmission itself? If it has a large back box then it’s a multi speed. How is the air system plumbed? If you have it out you can look at the part numbers in the front and back box and make some notes for the gearing and compare with some online manuals. The air lines that are plumbed to the knob are good indicators for what speed the transmission is. Basically you want to narrow down what you have that way and unfortunately you will have to look at the gearing on the inside of the transmission to see what ratio the transmission is.
