I have had the great fortune and pleasure to not only shoot with Lou but to share a table with him for lunch and dinner at a few matches. The man is a wealth of knowledge and not afraid to share.
Come on Erik. Lou is nice enough to to do this, you got to give him more than 30% of the screen. It would be nice to check out his reloading room. LOL! Great video. Please keep them coming.
These guys that you host. I have followed Jack Neary and Lou Murdica for decades. In various ways, these guys are pioneers to the world of bolt gun competitions. When you three guys are speaking, I really grow a set of big ears And I have never not learned something out of it. Thank you for capturing these conversations. I think they will be timeless and good for the sports.
Eric Cortina I would like to thank you for all your videos. I will never shoot in a tournament but I do reload and I use your videos to make we a better shooter. God bless you brother.
I will say this; since I began cleaning until the rifle is clean after shooting I can see a difference in the rifle. I now know exactly where the first round will impact at 1k yards. I will never buy another barrel that isn't stainless steel. I use abrasives as well. Iosso is the best I have seen. Cleaning the neck area has also changed how the rifle groups. It's just so interesting to me how the ritualistic methodology of long-range shooting can make such a difference. I now trim to the exact lengths every time. I've noticed it makes a shift in impact as well. Kinda crazy how these small things make huge impacts @ longer ranges. Watching Lou discuss this topic is just mind blowing.
Erik, these podcast style videos you’ve been making are so great. It’s such a great education. Thank you so much for all of this great information. I’m already making changes to implement techniques you guys have talked about. Thanks again!
Huh! Did I hear Lou say Iosso? That makes me feel good about the two tubes I bought after Jack’s interview! If you get the chance ask Lou if he knew Warren Page who authored The Accurate Rifle? That book, about bench rest, is the reason I started reloading over 30 plus years ago. Keep them coming Erik!
You are very supportive with your information. Once I took a drill motor and a wire cleaning brush to lightly burnish? case mouths. The rounds shot surprisingly tight. I will follow up on that. Thanks for your tips.
Great video Erik. When you mention that people sometimes have 'opinions wrapped around facts' I draw a parallel with driving to work in the HOV lane... Sometimes I feel like I want to encourage folks to continue driving to work in the single occupancy lanes because if they were to move over to the HOV lanes, they would increase my commute time!! LOL!! Cheers!
Great interview. Two things caught my attention, first with that sensitivity to trim length, what kind of neck clearances does he run for length and O.D.? I assume he neck turns too. Second, when you are shooting one hole groups at 100 yards, wouldn't a 300 yard group be helpful to see what is going on inside of that? Thanks!
I have watched Lou’s interview many times and pick up little bits every time. I recently read article on Butch Fisher another Benchrest shooter, who has sadly past away. My question is what does Lou think of Mr. Fisher’s bore cleaner?
Erik, I would love to know if the benchrest guys care about ES/SD when developing loads. I understand groups are all that matters in comp for them, but do they see POI changes from ES variation at the distances they shoot. Follow up to that, especially for Lou since he also shoots FClass, at what distance does ES really matter?
I liked. Like listening to Lou for sure. But a question. If there are two crowns, why are we OK scrubbing the crap out of the first one with abrasives, but lose our minds if we contact the second with same?
So, I test at 100 as well and believe in if it won't shoot at 100 it won't shoot at distance. I have a question tho, given a distance capable cartridge, have you seen a gun shoot great at 100 but poorly at distance?
100 yrds tells you how the gun and the shooter shoots. 1000 yrds tells you how a shooter can dope the wind. 4 grand kids shooting, what is one more so he should adopt me! 😉
Best thing about this channel is that all the armpit shooter that shoot one hole groups at a thousand with there 308 and 180 flat noses lol every where you go you see these clowns but not on here
Make sure to center punch that LIKE button!
Lou looked like he needed to sit down. He looked tired. Hey Lou make yourself comfortable and I am a fan of your abilities.

Thanks Eric for doing these interviews. The idea of facts wrapped in opinions is so true - and I am so guilty of it too.
These interviews are incredible thanks for sharing Erik!
I love these interviews, thanks for posting.
Very informative again Erik. Thanks to you for facilitating and to Lou for sharing his amazing knowledge!
Incredible content from two legends
This is another very interesting interview. I enjoyed it greatly and picked up some important information. Another winner.

Can’t wait for part 2, great video.

Brilliant stuff
Sit down, relax, sight on target, and place them all where it counts, that's fun!
Lou is such a great guy, shot with Him at the Fish Canyon range , he's an amazing shooter
A lot of Qualifications!! 😎👍👍
Murdica for ' Murica
Thank you.
Thanks!
I not look at individual groups, I look at all the groups and how they trend.
I love that his profile picture on FB is his 1 hole group!
Yes😂
I have watched Lou’s interview many times and pick up little bits every time. I recently read article on Butch Fisher another Benchrest shooter, who has sadly past away. My question is what does Lou think of Mr. Fisher’s bore cleaner?
Yep trimming everything in reloading comes into play
Erik, I would love to know if the benchrest guys care about ES/SD when developing loads. I understand groups are all that matters in comp for them, but do they see POI changes from ES variation at the distances they shoot. Follow up to that, especially for Lou since he also shoots FClass, at what distance does ES really matter?
Any chance you could put a list together of what You/Lou uses to clean the barrel? Thanks
I feel called out, said I would never trim.... lol, so uh, Erik.... what case trimmer do you recommend? :)
What Brand of plastic brush did he say. I'd like to find a plastic brush like he's talking about. Thanks
What is name of the nylon brushes that Lou said he used in cleaning?
Question,. I'm thinking about buying Leapold 30x silhouette for 600yard Benchrest. Good choice bad choice?
Erik
You should interview Mike Stinnett.

Who said I lose my mind? 🤷♂️
So, do we exit the muzzle with abrasives?
I do. 😁
Excellent. Thanks.

Hey Erik is the website fixed?
Yes
@@ErikCortina been trying to login but it keeps coming up error and says I need to solve the captcha correctly?
@@ErikCortina disregard last post, problem must have been on my end. Working now. Sorry for the inconvenience
I like Murdica's American accent.
Temperature of ammo and barrel will have effects on accuracy
Wonder where your barrel is? Look above his head :)
Pls like and share with your family friends or local range

👍👍👍👍
I am a no buddy 🙂 🙃 but I can shoot .5 inch groups at 200 yards with 223
I hand load all my ammo
Best thing about this channel is that all the armpit shooter that shoot one hole groups at a thousand with there 308 and 180 flat noses lol every where you go you see these clowns but not on here
