    I've said it before and I'll say it again... These series are extremely interesting even to a relatively new reloader, avid hunter, and backyard plinker like myself!!! Even when I don't intend to use this info for competition the enthusiast in me just likes knowing things like this and trying to understand how guys like yall at the level yall are at think about things... Again great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

      Daniel, I completely agree, I have followed precision shooting off and on for around 25 years, the rationale is what makes me tick. These videos are amazing.

    I live in one of the windiest places in the world. The hill in front of my range has several commercial windmills on it. When the wind is blowing, I have it to myself and the groups are honest.

    I've learned so many little random things watching these videos. Thermals effect bullets... Mind blown, I fly so I know about thermals but I never thought about it with shooting. Now it makes sense why I keep hearing you guys say dead calm sucks because I was sitting there going why the hell would you not like dead calm lol.

    This is why I shoot a 7 twist 223 even though most of my bullets would stabilize in an 8. I don't really believe you can over twist unless you go to crazy extremes. The acceptable "window" of twist only keeps getting faster as we get barrels that can keep bullets alive. So far, I've not seen a downside in accuracy, even with light 50gr VMAX that will shoot knotholes.

      50 Vmax shoot great in my 1-9 AR. But it’s an SBR with a 2 moa dot site so we are talking 100yd or less.

    Eric, thank you for doing all the Keep’em small videos. I have pickup several things from each of them. The one question I have on the pointing, have you done a test to find out how much your G7 changed before and after pointing? Also did you get the web site happy? Thanks again for doing all you do!!

    If you don’t believe in thermals, take a ride in the spring in a light plane. Eric what caliber do you shoot?

  • @danpollard4210

    Eric tests.i wonder if he tests.that all his ammunition is at the same temperature in his ammo cooler or his ammo warmer.for what he decides is the optimum.temperaturen for the day of his tournament.also that the thermometer on the chamber part,and the throat one are noted during the match.i think that the f.b.i is seeking men like yourselves busy men, w,hoo are bilingual and as personable as you are to hire as shooting instructors to them.you would probably be paid quite well for your obvious talents and credentials and all the great videos we have seen!!

    Regarding testing A B and C, I reminded of something Speedy told you regarding the various ways bullets will perform versus how they look and their specifications.
    How many "seeds" would be in each bag? 500? 100?
    I'm curious if those 3 different types of various bullets would shoot better in high wind, high temperature, or even higher barometric pressure...but would those factors be taken into account? Would there be enough testing to establish preference?

  • @toddcumberland132
    @toddcumberland132 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    For all this testing. Do you have a mule that you use or do you just burn up your competition gun?

    I've been considering a Left Hand Gain Twist barrel in 6.5 PRC. For Long Range shooting.
    Whats your opinion

    • @ErikCortina
      @ErikCortina  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why left hand?

    • @TexasTrained
      @TexasTrained 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ErikCortina Physics and North if Equator. I'd go with Rigbt hand ifI lived in Brazil south of Equator.
      I figured you may have tried one as lo g b as you have been shooting.
      The right hand spin and gravity works against you North of the Equator .
      It does affect gravity more than one realizes especially in long range shooting.
      And it should help right handed shooters.
      Just wanted your thoughts
