Purple Mint and Mustard Dot Mandala - Tutorial - Step by Step

- Watch me paint this Purple Mint and Mustard Dot Mandala step by step... these videos are done to give you some inspiration to create your own personal designs...
I apologize for not getting my next video up sooner... I am aiming for weekly... but, I am nursing a broken rib and bruising... I took a very ungraceful tumble a week ago on the way to my studio... which happened to be right next to a pile of very curious ants wondering why a human was blocking their path so decided to start climbing on me... not good... anyway, long story short, I am slowly recovering and have managed to get back to painting... and have a bit of healing therapy while doing so...
Paints used in this video are my trusty Global Paints that have been mixed with Pouring Medium at a ratio of 3 parts paint and 1 part pouring medium with a touch of water... the colours are White, Stormy, Mustard Spice and Mintish... Except for the white, these colours were limited editions and may not still be available but you can definitely get very similar colours...
I have a massive collection of paints that I have accumulated over the many years working in an Art and Craft store... unfortunately, a lot of the paints that are my favourites were limited edition colours but as mentioned, you could mix something similar or use your own favourite colours... I am simply sharing what I am up to and hopefully encourage you to grab some paints and give it a go...
The board used here is a 29.5cm MDF round... The guidelines are drawn using a watercolour pencil... rings are 1cm apart and the lines are drawn using a protractor at 20 degree intervals... I pretty much make my designs up as I go along... I never have a plan! That is the fun bit... I like a challenge...
The Ball Stylus Dotting tools I am using in the video are from the McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and the dotting rods are from Happy Dotting Company...

Thanks so much... I like to try new colour combinations... and try not to always choose purple... but that doesn't always work.. as you can see... 😏 it seems to be my go to colour when I am stuck for choosing paint... 🥰

Really like this one. I like anything with purple in it. Do you plan out the design of your mandala before you paint or do you just sit down and the pattern comes to you? Would you mind if I try this one? Thank you for showing your beautiful work.
I'm a purple girl through and through... It's so hard not to add purple in every mandala...🤣
As far a design... I wish I did have a plan... it would make it easier but no, I never know what I am doing... It's all make it up on the spot... when I draw shapes like the circles in this one, I didn't have a plan for them... they are just there to give me inspiration as I go along... so, definitely not a planner...
As far as trying this one... absolutely... give it a go... I would love it! My mandalas are here for others to try part of it or all of it... the choice is yours... It's about sharing the love of creating.... enjoy! 🥰
