  • Watch me paint this Purple Mustard and Gold Dot Mandala step by step... these videos are done to give you some inspiration to create your own personal designs...
Paints used in this video are mainly Global Paints that have been mixed with Pouring Medium at a ratio of 3 parts paint and 1 part pouring medium with a touch of water... the colours are Ultra Violet, White, Mustard Spice and Bling... (some of these colours were limited editions and may not still be available but you can definitely get very similar colours...)
The board used here is a 29.5cm MDF round... The guidelines are drawn using a watercolour pencil... rings are 1cm apart and the lines are drawn using a protractor at 20 degree intervals... I pretty much make my designs up as I go along.. I never have a plan! That is the fun bit... I like a challenge...
The Ball Stylus Dotting tools I am using in the video are from the McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and the dotting rods are from Happy Dotting Company...

Just love this. At least when you make a mistake you show how to fix them which is just as important as doing the dotting. Thanks for a great tutorial.

I am the queen of making mistakes!!! 🤣 and yes is all part of the wonderful world of dotting... I do like to show its not the end of the world when I stuff up... nothing that a cotton stick and bit of black paint can't fix... and the silicone chisel shaped tool makes it easy for getting rid of multiple dots... I love it!
Thanks so much for watching... it is much appreciated... 🥰

This is just stunning. I could probably follow along with you and do this, but I am terrible at making the guide lines. I know that it is one of the most important parts of doing mandalas. I am no good with a compus and the stencils that I got from the dotting place are like to big. So if I do follow along with an artist I'm always off. But this is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent.

I know sometimes using a compass can be a bit tricky... I invested in a decent one as I found some of the cheap ones moved when I was trying to make my circles... they went straight in the bin... when I use mine, I have a little turntable underneath the board, all I do is hold the compass and spin the turntable when I draw the lines... its so much easier than just doing it on a flat surface so I am not having to spin the compass too much... it just seems to flow nicer... maybe try that... I have started using a protractor to get the angles for my lines and find it better than some stencils... all that being said, just do your own creations the way you are comfortable with... It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be yours and so long as you love creating whatever it is you create... sometimes I get more enjoyment out of the 'doing' and less about the actual finished product... I started to make my videos to maybe inspire others to just give it a go, take time out from busy lives and relax... treat yourself to some healing artwork... even if you just take one or two ideas from mine and make the rest of your creation uniquely yours... believe me, I have a lot of painting that the end product is not so pretty but I loved painting it... hope this helps... thanks so much for taking the time to watch my video... it is much appreciated... enjoy! 🥰
