  • Customer states misfire under load, happened after recent rain storm. 2006 Scion Xa with a lot of miles has another misfire. Quick repair and road test to keep it running a little while longer.
Stay tuned for clutch replacement and engine tear down video in the future.

I have a 2006 Scion Xb that is very similar to the xa. Rain water was getting into the #1 spark plug well. It turns out that water was leaking around the windshield washer spray nozzle that is mounted on the hood. I had to put silicone around it to stop the leak. Toyota finally started mounting the spray nozzles on the cowl on their later models due to this problem of water leaking into the engine bay.

That’s interesting. With probably put 150,000 miles on this car and had it for maybe 10 years now. And this is one of the few times I’ve ever had to make a repair. When the engine finally gives up, I’ll probably just put a used engine in it and it will keep going.
      Thanks.
      They are great little cars.

A Scion Xb is basically the same as an Xa, they are good and reliable cars. Just make sure you take very good care of the fluid levels and maintenance and it will likely run many trouble free miles.
      Thanks.

Looks like an Italian or French designer has been let loose on that dashboard.
Btw: Who's not using their seatbelt?

Yeah, I was never really a fan of that cluster being in the middle like that.
Aaaand that would be me forgetting a seatbelt. Oopsie.
      Thanks for watching Peter!

Well, thank you for doing something that interests me.
And use that belt now; we can't have you doing a Superman through the windshield. Not healthy. ;)
