- In this video we show the rebuilding and restoration of a 1940 Fordson N. In the first video we showed the tractor being stripped to see what parts could be used for the project and in this video we show the tractor being put back together and restored to its former glory.
From rebuilding the gearbox, building the engine, shot blasting and spraying the tractor, each step in the process is shown in detail.
At the end of the video the finished tractor pulls a vintage binder and harvests a field of oats.

She’s a beauty, well done lads
Respect.
Quality job, gents. I’m currently rebuilding a 1950 Ford 8n in the USA, and enjoyed getting to see this restoration.
Great vid, he did a top job of that steering wheel
Makes me want a tractor now
Even if you don't have land
lovely to see it brought back to life again...
I can remember seeing one of these tractors sold for 30 shillings £1.50 in today’s money in a farm sale in 1960.
How times change. Lovely job with the restoration guys. Bit of a beast to drive having both clutch and brake on one pedal gave you a strong right leg, and a broken wrist if the mag ignition was slightly off.
Have to admit it nice renting new machines with computer control, but maintaining that stuff is a headache
Best restoration of the fordson, the men can be proud of their work.
Brilliant video, so good to see the old fordson brought back to life....with a proper restoration.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job she turned out well.
What a great video again, and what a beautiful restoration well done.
Thanks Jos.
So amazing to see these old machines brought back to life, and work on a farm again. Thanks for sharing
Ford Son mejar tractor was a nice tractor with simms diesel pump, starting was very easy in the winter! From India 🇮🇳
Beautiful job lads, greetings from Australia
Fantastic job on rebuilding the Fordson. Great video. Thank you.
Fantastic job lads great to see old machinery getting another chance, well done to all involved 👍🏻
what a brill machine . it worked on one of these in early sixties . would blow smoke rings when plugs got fouled up . lovely resto . well done .
A superb restoration of certainly my favourite tractor, so very well done by all, the narration was superb and the detailed video very well shown. Fantastic end product and excellent tutorial for anyone even attempting restoring tractors, this is how it is done!
Have to agree great video and narration was perfect!
G'day and greetings from Tasmania Australia, that was very interesting watching the restoration of this tractor and she turned out terrific and a real credit to everyone involved in its restoration, thank you for filming and doing the voice over I have subscribed and look forward to the next instalments, kind regards John Kinnane
Excellent footage.
It's great to see such a dedicated team of mechanics so hard at work, but this video (and part one of it) contain a great mystery. When the old rusty tractor is recovered from its place of rust it is shown with an authentic Fordson Model N engine. However, when we get to the stage where it is all put back together and started up for the first time the engine has changed to a Fordson Model E27N engine. No mention of this engine swop is made is the otherwise entertaining commentary. How come?
Absolutely a mint job.
I am looking for a green wide wing and Ransomes plough, just like the one my Grandfather had.
Well done.
Cracking Job Lads. Lovely restoration. Spent hours working on these, plus Allis U's & B's also the IH farmal series, nearly 60yrs ago. Your workshop looks the same as ours did!. A saner world in those days! All the best from the Welsh border👍
really enjoyed this video ,, here in my area they were a common sight hauling a thresher with a Jones bailer on a drawbar behind ,,, Dan from Randalstown ,,,,,,,,,
2 Great videos . Fantastic restoration , no shortcuts taken!. 👍🏻
Another great video. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it.. Seen your Uncle this time around.. He done a great job on the tractor..
That's class
Excellent! Fantastic result!
Great video
That tractor new in today’s money according to what he read out of the book would be about 13,000 pound
Good vid.
Muy buen video
I love that he said 160 pounds being from the USA in all.
Agreed! If the narrator had used loathsome metric units, that would have been the ultimate betrayal! The imperial measurement system has so much more colour than the painfully boring and repetitious metric system: 10 x 10 x 10 aargh! :-( I was also surprised to hear that tractors were still being built in the U.K. in 1941; I'd have reckoned that all such production would have been devoted to the war effort by then.
I have a international 946 1965
whent from one of the worst to the best out there
Ihr seid meister, ich bewundere euch! Dieses alte gerät zu reparieren...? Jede schraube ein abenteuer, geht sie auf, reißt die schraube ab..?
Das sind keine hängenden ventile...
Vielen dank für das video! Lg.ff.
do you have any more in-depth filming of the reassembly, I'm putting one back together at the moment, i got it all in bits so any extra help would be great. thanks.
Does anybody know what workshop manual the lads used for doing the fordson
Ihr habt sogar noch das reparaturenbuch!....lg.ff.
Would anyone know the contact for the steering wheel rim I’m trying to get one for my e27n , cheers
