You and Chris knocked that one out the park and I can well understand why the paint guy said he doesn't want you to make a habit of it. That was £500 worth of paint work all day... and he let you video it ! Top man.
To be fair, even at "up North/Yorkshire" prices I reckon that's easy £750 for that standard of work!

Definitely a dark art, and as you say, top professionals make it look easy. I had my 2010 Alfa 159 resprayed by a one man band recommended to me by my local independent garage (who have had my custom since 2006 as they are that good). Turns out, he won't put his name to anything he doesn't do himself, as he takes his reputation seriously. Best decision I ever made.
The Decorators are even better !
We are even prepared to come and get it . Never wanted any car like that one the mileage is fantastic , the best car transformation anybody has seen in their whole life !

Me too. I'd actually have a preference for a damaged/repaired from these guys than a run-of-the-mill motor from the classified ads.
When you see the original pictures of the Focus it really shows the level of vision and determination you guys have for repairing/rebuilding cars. A lot of people would have probably called time on it but you brought it back from the brink! It looks lovely now and you wouldn't believe it was the same car. Its going for a great price and should provide some lucky person with years of happy motoring👍

Rob, anything abandoned you and chris find are always worth it. It will obviously sold at 2.5 grand and with that condition + 19K miles on it, its a no brainer really.
And i wanna say thanks to the person that found and suggest this car to Rob. This Focus really peak a lots of interest in this channel. Anywho, keep up the great work.

I think you asking price of £2,500 is a good solid price, having watch this series from the start, it is one of the best transformational videos on the channel, nice and day, and it looks absolutely cracking now, and that interior just sets it off perfectly.

I got a similar 10 plate Kia for nothing that had been stood in a garden for 7 years, 6350 miles. It’s like a brand new car now! Well done Rob & Chris, really enjoyed the videos! Keep it up 👍🏻
Painting cars looks so easy when you see a pro doing it. Then you have a go and it looks like you've had the tipex out.
i did my own paint job last year and honestly it looked amazing, blending into different colors is harder id say and he did do a great job!
Yep it’s a real skill. I know a few people who have restored cars, and done all the engine, body and electrical work themselves, but they have all sent the car out for paint. It almost always looks crap unless you know exactly what you’re doing.
This has probably been my favourite car build for a long time Rob and Chris. Let's be honest, very few people would have attempted this one. But once again, you have made it look easy. Well done lads👍
Stick a 'Refurbed by Salvage Rebuilds - Rob and Chris' sticker in back windscreen and you could add £500 on to the asking price. Great to see you get it back on the road looking so good. A very environmentally sound thing you have done.
The first video of this Focus was what got me into the channel, so will always be a bit special to me!

When I saw this Focus in the first video I didn't doubt you could turn it around but wondered if there was any profit to be made. What a fantastic job, well done to you both again and what a great result. Like most of the comments; used car prices are really strong just now and you should ask at least £2995 given the one owner and silly low miles as well as the superb condition now you have restored it. Thank you for a great video series on this car.

Totally agree with you, especially the effort they went to. After tax, it's approximately ~£500 each for them, and while it's not to be sniffed at, they must have put some serious hours in!

that painter certainly knows his stuff, wow what a cracking end to such a long process, i say this time and time again about guys but you guys are just absolutely awesome at everything you do, the dedication to each project you do is simply amazing! lovely stuff :)
Have to confess to being a doubter at the start but what a great car.
Had an 06 Focus and really rated it but the insurance company wrote it off after I had an encounter with a number of deer one morning on the way to work.
After watching all your videos I would now feel more confident about fixing it. Every day's a school day even at my tender age! 😃
Never tire of watching a good painter at work. Also why has watching an old focus being resurrected been so captivating lol. Hats off to you on a brilliant job.

I've painted cars for 30 years in about 10 different body shops that's a banging job by a real top paint shop

Perhaps you could consider doing more of removing vehicles that have been dumped in fields/barns because I never realise how many vehicles are just left to rot - I don’t think any one does those sort of videos - great video well done 👍

Absolutely cracking video guys really thought that was going to go against you but being the hard workers you both are you have pulled the rabbit out of the hat and knocked this one out the park. Body shops must be cheap in the UK. Just to paint a bumper here in the US, you're looking at $200 or better, much less 2 bumpers and other paint work and repairing that small dent. I was expecting about £800-1K for all that. Y'all made the right decision doing this project. Thanks for sharing the journey on this car, that was pretty cool. Goes to show you can get a good car for cheap if you're willing/able to do the work.
They know people in the trade so get it cheap, if a normal person went it would be expensive

£260 to repair paint and mop that car - he deserves £600 - 800. Don’t believe he works for £200 that’s madness.
£200 labour . Absolute madness . The right think to do would’ve been to throw that man at least £400 for his labour and take a little bit less profit on it … He’s in business as well .
@@Johnny_murrays_cousin Videos like this £200 labour to paint two bumpers, a boot lid, a wing corner and a quarter then mop just stuff up the industry and give customers unrealistic expectations for what things actually cost.
That’s 12 hours work minimum and true cost of workshop and materials say another £80. That’s £10 per hour to do skilled work.
That assumes nothing goes wrong.

@@joelinden1579 17.01 he says paint cost £60, 17.10 he says painter charged him £200 labour. Total, £260 which he says at 17.23.

I had a small dint to my rear quarter and a scrape to the bumper on Audi a5. So need a whole bumper respray and filler and blend to rear quarter. Body shop wanted £1300!! You got all that paint work done for a 5th of that price! amazing

As with many people I was very heastent with this one but on closer inspection I was on board. As you say it seems to have been a long one but all in all it was worth it. Thanks Rob and Chris for a good series and not done just for our entertainment .👍👍
Made a nice job of that car , bargain for someone at £2500 with 19k miles . Ask £2995 and give the painter a bit extra tip 👍👍
What you've guys have done with this car is honestly nothing short of absolutely amazing. Seriously. Most others would have cut their losses and broke the car up for whatever bits they can salvage.
The series of videos on this car should honestly be a lesson to show that you can save a car from the brink, it doesn't need all main dealer parts and building up cars from bits off other scrappers can work very well. I've done it a couple of times to a very minor level but nothing as amazing as this.
Rob and Chris, my cap is duly doffed to your amazing work.
Insurance company’s right off cars these days far too quickly. With a bit of love and hard work this car has a new lease of life.

It’s all about costs. How much the repair and so on. But there aren’t many who are prepared and more important as compassionate as Rob and Chris are for doing a first class job.
@@boblawrence5011 Spot on. Bought a Cat "S" 6 weeks ago for peanuts. 6 yr old car Ford with less than 3000 miles, yes 3k miles & FFSH. I just booked it in for repair & paint. From what I see the cost to repair all depends on the bodyshop. I got quoted between £600 & £2000 which is a huge difference because some just wanted to fit full new panels instead of even contemplating (or being competent?) repairing any thus the cost ballooned greatly. I could see some didn't even want to touch it & were more like touch-up shops rather than a true bodyshop, looking for easier money. Even at the lowest quote I guess it gives an idea of the extent of damage.
I'm guessing this is how insurance work is priced too (and inflated for easy money if accepted) so they are written off.
The crap I got from some bodyshops was comical - can't be done mate, blah, blah, blah. The guys who is doing it for me has pictures of old jobs he's done and my car is basically only lightly scratched in comparison. Jeez, I was going to have a crack at it myself as I thought I had nothing to lose, but couldn't be arsed hahaha.

You convinced me with this rebuild to get a Focus after I saw how cheap and available the parts were.
From what it looked like when you first got it , just wow, so many people wouldn't give it a second glance, turned out brilliant, and an absolute bargain price 👏👏

Your painter knows his craft! He could teach the boys over at VTuned a thing or two. Their paint jobs are shocking. All the gear and no idea springs to mind.

Your asking price is way too cheap
£2500 is a good price, will sell within minutes, would be nice just to see a quick walk around once it is mopped & polished.
Putting in a Titanium interior was a worthy upgrade, certainly well worth all the hard work!
Great end result guys. Really nice in this day and age where so much of TH-cam is about teenagers driving Lamborghini's around with money they made playing Call of Duty, that you guys are putting good solid cars back on the road and doing it in a really honest and transparent way. That car turned out real nice and wasn't over expensive to do in the end. It looks like you got 29 dislikes from people that couldn't take a pigs breakfast , and make a 5 course meal out of it, like you guys did. I'm pleased it's going to show a "real" profit, I got sick of watching one of the US channels flipping cars, and most of the time if he took content income out he lost money. At that point his income is TH-cam not flipping cars and if TH-cam quit the next day he was in trouble with over price junk he'd loose money on selling . Keep it real and we'll come watch more, that's why we're here and not watching some "Discovery channel" shows. Thanks for another great video series, Take care guys.

This car got me watching the channel and it has kept my interest because of the radical transformation it went through . As of now the series on this car has been my favorite .
