To be a good driver you need to understand that a car cannot be pushed to 100% at all times. This makes things in the car fail as well as the technology to use the accelecharger. For Taro when his car got damaged it could easily have been hit the right way to make it break. Sometimes people are just that unlucky.

I think the accelechargers release an especific type of energy, that the drones can handle, but the human cars dont, It probably has something to do with the tecnology.
I always figured they were designed to encourage only limited use, and Drones just had an easier time because their cars are custom built to somehow counter or withstand the auto-strain [they either knew how to do this because A) they have more inherent knowledge of the Accelechargers from being creations of the Accelerons, themselves, or B) they utilized trial and error with their first Accelechargers, and had succeeded in the process by the time the Teku and Metal Maniacs started entering the realms]

The drone in the storm realm uses the fog realm accelecharger for a long while before suddenly stopping despite there still being fog, I think this was really good foreshadowing as to how the accelechargers can't be used that long. I think this also proves the idea that no car can handle the accelechargers that long and that they're built for shorter use periods, since he suddenly stops despite fog and even gelorum continually uses short burst of them in the ultimate race
I would just argue that some of the accelechargers can be used for different time periods, so like the cosmic realm can be used for 10 or so seconds, while somethin like the cavern accelecharger can be used for like a minute, altough the fact that while using the accelecharger and taking damage with your car may make the accelecharger disfunction, seems true aswell
i also got a therory at how the ultimate race went through the realms so fast. the passage of time within the realms is quicker then in the human world as one hour in the realms is like several minute in the human world but only in the ultimate race
Its more likely that it’s simply because the drones were made by the accelerons and likely utilized the same tech they use, but, an interesting speculation, I’d like to imagine that since the accelerons created the drones with the intent of having machines that were capable of perfect driving and really challenging the ability of the accelerons themselves, It’s possible they may not have limited the drones ability to use the accelechargers to present themselves greater challenge. I know it’s more unlikely, but I think it’s a fun thought worth mentioning. I think the obvious answer would be the technology, but if that was the case, why wouldn’t the drones use the accelechargers all the time? They clearly know how to use the accelechargers well, so maybe something else is at play. I have two theories myself. Either the drones may be limited in some way that they’ve learned better control on how to use them or we just haven’t seen it, and the rules of the accelechargers applied differently in the ultimate race, or the drones have always been fighting the silencers. Keep in mind that at the end of the world race, tesla probably still worked with whoever he worked with and the government probably knew as well, which is why we saw vert’s dad and tesla talking. When tesla left and took what he needed, the government probably was looking for ways back in based off what they learned and knew with tesla. It’s likely they knew of the new wheel by this point and approached the other world race drivers. When tesla called, they probably had a plan to bail them out of the realms and bring them back to silencer hq using the edr that tesla would start using later, which would explain banjee’s car in the swamp realm, and would explain the theories about the silencers being ex-world race drivers. It’s possible the silencers had a more reserved approach inititially, trying to learn more about how the realms worked, trying to understand how to make sense of everything and keep themselves from being exposed to tesla. If the government knew how to detect accelechargers this whole time and were effective at killing drones, it’s possible the drones may have been trying to limit their use of them for their own security so they wouldn’t lose them to the silencers. Keep in mind we don’t know how many realms have been visited before the events of acceleracers. I know all that may be a bit far fetched compared to “the drones have acceleron technology”, but I feel like it could even help explain other things. Well at least it’s fun in theory. I personally wouldn’t fully believe it myself, but I had a massive brain storm on the idea and I just had to type this all out. I’m surprised at the depth of thought and conclusiveness that this community always manages to come up with. It reminds me just why I like this community so much

But what makes the big differencess is the tech that drone used. Ok I know at ultimate race, the realm is really short. But compared to testing track at Acceledrome, the realm is a little bit longer. High Voltage only can hold at 1 lap before got destroyed. And RD-09 can hold a little bit longer than High Voltage.
Maybe Silencerz's car technologies are more powerful than Teku, Metal Maniacs, and Racing Drones. Also, It's interesting that Silencerz never used Accelechargers in their races. This is one of the proofs Silencerz can be won in various Racing Realms without using Accelechargers.
I always just assumed it produced microwave level vibrations that would slowly looses bolts and screws in the car hence why the cars just fall to pieces. And that drones cars were build without things like doors since the drones were technically part of the car thus making the cars frame one solid piece allowing them to be able to use them longer. I also thought if it just burnt out your ECU after prolonged use and the drones had simply just perfected ECU’s but wouldn’t explain why the car falls apart
Remember that Accelechargers we're unexceptionable for all the realms in the race to become a Acceletron. Maybe that's why they were so dangerous in the first place.
Something very strong allows the Drone cars to endure them easily, their technology onboard also have to be like the Acceleron's if they are so good and dont overheat or whatever from overuse.
I feel like the drones using copied Accelechargers, and the humans using the originals might have something to do with the resulting damage. However, I do think the drones cars handle the Accelechargers better as they have had longer to test the effects of usage as well as better technology.

Eh you see in Storm Realm RD-L1 deactivated Fog Accelecharger in foggy area they have limit too.

But why did it change from Cavern and land to Water?
I always assumed Taro's accelecharger bugged out in the Pipeline realm because of his electrical problems that started in the Water Realm
It's sorted out he can use EDR again, no electrical problems anymore.
That makes sense, cause Accelerons want us to use our skills, giving drivers advantage without any down side is not what they would do.
