- The #FordExpeditionMax is the largest SUV in the Ford portfolio and for 2022, the latest #Expedition gets some welcomed upgrades to keep it competitive. The #FordExpedition was last redesigned in 2018, so this refresh is much needed. The #ExpeditionMax continues to be the SUV of choice for those of you who need maximum cargo room and people space. The #EcoBoost 3.5L twin-turbo V6 also makes more power this year and overall, the latest version is a more desirable and competitive family SUV.

i love the expedition. its a great blend of space, power, tech, and safety. The price is eye watering though...
I know you guys usually don’t really get to control what spec press cars you get but it’s nice to see you review one of the lower trims for once.
And not to be able to show half of the features. Makes no sense. More over most customers buy higher trimes of those big suvs

The Expedition just drives and rides so much better than the competition. It has far more features, the seats are more comfortable, it had a useable third row for adults a long time before the competition, and the interior is just much nicer. I’m glad it was updated but not drastically changed.
SEVENTY GRAND??? HOW can an XLT model hit SEVENTY GRAND? Absolutely ridiculous. Also, Ford, please go ahead and put full LED lighting on all your vehicles. It’s especially embarrassing to have a $70K car with incandescent tail lamps 🤦🏼♂️

Overpriced like most full sized suvs. However they ask and we oblige them. Perhaps after three years as a certified I can swing that.
Nice review! We own a 2020 Expedition Max and it's an amazing family hauler. Great ergonomics, tons of space, very comfortable and fun to drive for it's size.
It is so nice to watch a video that isnt filmed in windy conditions. Also, I like the editing! Nice job on the video!
This is a great refresh for an already great suv,not to extreme but good enough to keep the expedition up to date

Can you bring back night drives like you did with the 2020 Palisade? It would be nice to see the Expedition at night.
We can certainly look into it! The challenge is the GoPro's we use for the interior shots while driving... they don't deal with low-light situations very well :/

@@theredline How about instead of the whole driving scene like before you just do a little section of it? And it can kind of show off the headlights and how bright they are a little and how well the auto high beams work because I’ve seen that some brands are way better than others
@@theredline might need to adjust the exposure on the camera. There are other TH-camrs that do this in their night reviews.
This is my most favorite Ford Full-size SUV.

Not to mention that unlike Toyota, ford actually strives for best in class. They innovate. They can think out of the box better. Why else is the ford Mach e and lightning getting nothing but good things about it? Why else does the f150 outsell anything Toyota has? Because ford knows their customers much better than Toyota
@@naveenthemachine that is a big negative. Toyota is not an innovative car company. They just make the best quality cars that drive well, and you can depend on. They are the Apple of car companies. Not the first to come out with something new, just the best when they do come out with it!

I loved the old expedition styling. Since they switched I switched to the Lincoln mainly for the exterior. I wish they would go back to a more truck like styling

Always liked the Expedition, had a couple back in late 90’s and early 2000’s. Would love to have another one but with my arthritis there’s no way I could get in one even using the running boards. Ford still makes a great product though some models could use a styling upgrade. I wish they would offer a large sedan like the Taurus, I would sure look at one of those.
Nice to see reviews of cars people actually. I see so many of the top of line models but few of the lower trims. This is probably the one I would buy. I like some features but don't need all the stupid bells and whistles.
but those unmovable headrests would be showstopper for me!

In my opinion great spec, great desing. I have hopes on next, based on lightening will land in EU - of course in shorter version. Fantastic family suv with childseat friendly tilt for 2nd row.
This or the navigator has always been my preferred livery vehicle because of the space and comfort

Definitely impressed with the power it appears to have, with ~6,000lbs to pull. And quite frankly,....there really isn't any reason to go with the high output engine. This isn't a race car,....but a family car. The power is fine.
i agree. i’d say the only reason to go with the high output engine would be if towing power is needed on the consistent basis.
Ford is like the only brand where the smaller screens looks better 😂
In my opinion, ascent’s small screen also look better, 2023 refreshed ascent has bigger screen which means less physical buttons and knobs, which is not my preference. They basically put the climate control into the screen to make it bigger.
I agree Sofyan... I much prefer the styling of the new Yukon to this. I'm also a fan of the wagoneer/grand wagoneer though
Ford need to put the hybrid powerboost in this suv!!! This suv is more aerodynamic than the f-150… maybe it will get 25mpg combined with a 27 gallon tank you have 675 miles

I have that exact Max w/towing package. Have always had Suburban's but the Ford engine won out. It's a great all around vehicle, great towing, hauling gear, good in snow & excellent driver for it's size.
Thinking of getting one to tow a travel trailer, so thank you for letting me know to get this over a suburban
@@panther36 the ford has more torque & the suburban has more low end. I prefer the torque. Both will do the job but the ford engine is more refined.

My 2017 long wheelbase Expedition tows my camper like a champ...when it's working. Unfortunately Ford has some persistent quality issues and these vehicles are expensive outside of warranty.
Adjust the headrest up higher and it will move the angle away from your head

I like the sequoia and Tahoe/Yukon looks better but when they make an Expedition Lightning, count me in! Imagine hauling 8 people with all of their luggage in back and frunk, and getting to 60 in 4 seconds.

Hoy! Pare! 😂 the wide angle lens, shooting ‘up’ at the 3/4 view, and you standing in the back makes this thing look HUGE! Does anyone else think the car makers are manufacturing more cars than we actually need? Other than the tech/big screens, most people don’t use/need more power. I’d say 1/20 of these SuperSUV’s tow. And anyone really off-roading would go Toyota Landcruiser(even a lightly used Toyota is better than this or a ‘Burban)
Why do you think ford is premium enough for the Yukon XL SLT to be its main competitor vs the Chevy Suburban ? I think it’s more inline with that price and feature wise… ford does have the rep that GMC does to be able to be considered a competitor to that suv
Another cop looking car to make me nervous although I shouldn’t be because I’m a good boy, side profile looks a little Dodge like to me though.
Still miss the Excursion, but these can accomplish 90% of that tanks jobs.

Standing outside the car you looked TINY. Inside you looked like you didn't have much headspace above you. I can't judge how someone at six and a half foot tall would fit inside. this vehicle.

It's really an insult to potential buyers that Ford do not offer led tail lights at lower models, its a step back from the outgoing model. Also these non led red blinkers are hard to see if the sun is hitting them directly. Hopefully auto manufacturers will get the basics right before going after fancy options someday!

9300 lbs is the max tow configuration
0-60 in 5.6 or so with only 380 hp in 5800lb vehicle just defies all logic. something with this power weight should be around the 7 sec mark I would have guessed. hell in real world testing the new supercharged Escalade with 300 more horsepower is only a couple tenths faster than this.
Gearing, torque curve, power curve, etc all matter when it comes to acceleration. The 3.5 in these has always been quick, the old 5.4 got roughly 7.5 seconds with the 310 horsepower one and the 6 speed automatic. 4 speed was around 8-8.5 seconds

They definitely probably won’t be coming back out with a V8. Why do you think they got rid of the 5.4? Yeah it was a dog of an engine *I know cause I have one* but they mainly got rid of it because it wasn’t efficient when it comes to fuel consumption, acceleration, etc. I agree though but I haven’t heard any major issues with these with this engine.
The 3.5 ecoboost has been pretty reliable according to a number of Ford owners. Every engine has its issues though.
I’m not a fan of the huge touch screen on these cars nowadays.. Too big

I think all it needs is the new F-150 interior (the digital cluster and infotainment screen that doesn't look like they stuck a tablet to the dashboard with superglue).
