@@FacuGonz3 Yeah, the Bronco is using Sync 4 from the F-150 and it's a really good setup with the 12" screen as well.
I recently downsized to a smaller car for commuting. My new car does not have automatic climate control and I've come to realize that automatic climate control isn't an improvement. The only luxury automaker that seems to have realized this is Rolls Royce.
I like how the expeditions design is getting closer and closer to the newer explorer design. Ford should bring back the excursion and make it look retro but futuristic
They're really missing out considering even high mileage excursions go for 20K still.

Just bought a 2022 Expedition XLT with 202A package and all exterior and interior options available without going up to the next trim level. Terrible time to buy a car so it cost and arm and a leg but the family is loving it. Great job on this one by Ford.
Ford is so close to a fantastic interior… if they could just update that center console to something that doesn’t look like one of those universal consoles from JC Whitney.
You know what else has a raptor engine in it? The Navigator
@@greatsoup2803 a lot of limo companies/drivers buy Navigators because it has/had the best ride quality of the big US luxury SUVs. I am surprised Lincoln is still around though... but hey, the same could be said for Cadillac at this point.
Just like how the Lincoln Aviator has the same engine as the Bronco Raptor.

I like others people in these comments trying to rip on the navigators for reliability when this is literally Ford’s version of a navigator it has the same exact problems. And league reliability stat is so low because of one of their mid level SUVs that they have out right now that’s a absolute dog when it comes to wiring.

Couple things from a part number basis-- there is no variation now between the HO and standard 3.5 in the MY22 line up on expedition. It’s simply a different pcm calibration.
Second you can address the manual shifting mode by swapping a gem 3 raptor steering wheel to the vehicle as the expedition airbags are the same that are used with the f-150 platform.
Still like my 1998 Eddie Bauer with the 5.4 Triton V8.
No major service in a quarter century, just fluids and everything still works. It's a keeper. Just enough electronics for reliability but not a rolling cell phone tablet.
I feel the same with my 99 XLT. Though I've not been as lucky having to buy a new engine due to poor maintenance from the previous owners. Same engine and have 4wD, its almost perfect.

The engine has to be warm when removing the plugs and you have to be more surgical than gorilla ape when removing them.
When installing new ones use anti seize on the threads and don't exceed torque spec.
There. Now you're good for another decade or so.😀

In order to appreciate the extra 55 hp, you have to use premium gasoline. Otherwise, you can feel the engine being held back by the PCM at WOT. If you use regular unleaded, it acts just like the normal 3.5 Ecoboost.
I'll have to deff startvputtinf premium in it for my customers on test drives
I have a 2022 Expedition (not this version) but I love it. I had an Explorer years ago and really liked it. But I love my Expedition.

Chrome in my opinion is so much better than all black. It highlights elements and It accentuates the design. I haven’t seen a vehicle slapped with all black that I like yet. A little chrome here and there is perfect.

Actually, please let us know every time Sirius does that free listening periods. I remember it happening in the past on big holidays like 4th of July, but never remember to try them out.

Can you please mention in every ford video about the engine cover. I drive explorer st and there is nothing on top of the engine saying that it is ford or st or anything. How hard it can be?
I’d love to see a more powerful Navigator to go against the Escalade V and GLS AMG, but it seems that this Expedition 440Hp (down from 450) will be as hot as it will get (with pure ICE power at least).
Where is the (electric) Thunder Expedition? They need to grab that name before someone else does, they already missed the opportunity in the early 2000’s to give the Lightning a SUV cousin.

We bought a 2017 Expedition EL (extra long). Love the space and power (added tune), but there are a bunch of weird annoyances you wouldn’t expect for a vehicle with an MSRP of $70k
Road noise is terrible in this thing, hoping the new generation is better.

Ford should have used the styling of the Raptor doors. Their trucks all have that signature door curve as opposed to the straight line look.

The infotainment system/controls are probably sluggish during start up while the computer uploads/downloads whatever info to the mothership of Ford. I've had a few different Mopars 2016 and newer with the 8.4 Nav and they all did the same thing. No doubt downloading weather/road conditions, reading my USB media drive, etc.. Anyway, I'm not a big Ford fan, but that Expedition looks really nice.

That is the shoulder line. The crease below it is the belt line and has gradually moved up the last 15 years or so.
the inside note does not sound like the a/c compressor. at least, not from the recording. it sounds muscly. it sounds pretty good, actually. but then, it is a fake sound. so it could've sounded like anything
I love the look of this trim level. I'd like more buttons on the screen, but the clarity is far better than Sync 4. Some of the dealers believe the 24 F-150 update will move to Sync 4a.

"Blue Cruise" sounds like a term for a group of old guys that pop Viagra before hitting the bars.
I don’t know if this was already said and I apologize if it was but I believe Blue Cruise is only on the platinum version of the Expedition.

From the powertrain to the infotainment, everything seems rushed and poorly considered. I can't get behind a boosted 6 cylinder that only gets 17-ish mpg city. It all just screams intermediary solution until Ford's EV strategy dominates the lineup. Beyond the astronomical price, it's such a strange time to buy a new vehicle.

It's not bad for the capability. What other vehicle seats eight and tows 9,000 lbs? Capability comes with a cost.
@@jghall00 True. I guess I'm just speaking more to relative cheapness of quality for an 80k vehicle. That along with the bizarre powertrain market before EV's become the primary. It's not just Ford. If you're getting under 20mpg from a V6, why not just stick to the v8 for the clear advantage in longevity/reliability? Emissions? Fake engine noise? Again, it all just screams intermediary and temporary.

@@Incomudro1963 I think most people buying these need some combination of seating, towing capability, and maybe AWD. Otherwise there are better three row SUVs that aren't built on truck frames. Mine replaced my minivan because we bought a large camper.
@@bradbrown9877 I can get 22 mpg if I keep my foot out of it and it tows better at high altitudes. But I'm sure Fords motivation was CAFE standards.
My Sync 3 system in my Fusion has always been the same way. It's a little leggy when I first start the car, but clears up after it's been on a few minutes. Minor inconvenience to a otherwise great infotainment system.
One thing about these new style expeditions since they came out in 2018. They need to be warmed up for at least 5 minutes before you roll out.
Glad the knee surgery went well. I'm down right now myself. I tore my calf muscle while hiking through a stream on my acreage. Not sure if I have to get surgery yet, but it really sucks.
The center console is for my wife's purse. Had a nice in our 04 expedition and now have a nice one in our 2016 F150. That is why it is big .

In my '06 Accord, I had to unplug SXM to plug in and enable AUX. LOL! I never listen to SXM is why.
I have the 2020 version of this and it's lifted with taller tires. It's sick.

I am a old school driver say whatever you want but there's nothing like driving a 8 cylinder truck its smoother and quieter you don't have to have turbo noise just to drive down the block

The Expedition should use the F150 screen. Too bad Ford wants to try being Tesla, when actually Tesla changed their own screen, for a horizontal one that it's a lot better for eye sight when you're driving....
Careful with those ford transmissions-- I had a 2l ecosport who's transmission gave out after 20k miles. That massive lag and whatnot in the programming when "manually shifting" could be the start of issues!
The ecosport had a totally different transmission.

"A little slow off the line" says it all. It really is stealth performance. You can claim more MPG this way. As you desperately mash on the gas...who knows maybe you'll change your mind about easily merging into traffic. Better not give too much throttle response... just in case.

Yeah love the stealth look, agree with Jakub about the chrome. It doesn’t belong on this model. Btw knee surgery is a bitch I had my acl replaced and my meniscus repaired in my right knee in 2019 and it still hurts like hell.

@@TheStraightPipes If it's still clicking and popping after a year, check back in with an ortho. I had to have my meniscus tear redone 2 years after it was "repaired", because it would click and pop whenever I walked too much...

Any expedition package with the max trim level or limited or above comes with the 3.5H motor aka (high output) aka l raptor motor”which is standard in the raptor they have been doing this with the expedition and Limited F150 since 2016
