      I haven’t had a single computerized component fail. The only thing electronic that failed was the automatic door step which was replaced early on and no issues since. I’ve never even had a check engine light because I had all the recommended maintenance done on time. The truck still looks brand new outside and inside, and still drives like new. Even the drivers seat looks like it has less than 50k miles. It makes a huge difference when you take care of and maintain your vehicle. Preventive maintenance is the key. My 2020 kia sportage is also freshly mint and has 80k miles and looks brand new without a scratch with 0 issues because I have maintenance done on time. That vehicle has also never had a check engine light . I serviced its transmission every 20k miles to be safe. You have to pay to play sometimes, and its well worth it.

    The 2021 F-150's had all kinds of chip issues! My 2021 F-150 was replaced by Ford with a 2022 F-150 under Michigan Lemon Law. I only had 300 miles on it and I couldn't safely drive it or tow my boat because of constant electrical fault messages and the turn signals not working right. The Ford dealer tore out the dash twice and replaced the APIM Module 2X, but nothing would fix my problems. A Ford engineer neighbor told me to get out of my lease as quick as possible due to all the defects. On a good note, FoMoCo replaced the truck with a 2022 F-150 XLT with all the same options and it is GREAT. No issues at all and everything works fine. They also reloaded all my lease miles and said I could buy the truck at the end of the lease at the 2021 price, if interested. That means I could get a $63,247 truck for $43,000. I plan on buying it!

He spent right at $12,000 to have a new motor installed - and a new clutch & pressure plate in the transmission . Loves it ! Says it was way better than spending $60,000 or even more on a new truck . I agree . In the area of California he lives - he didn’t have rust or anything to contend with . So maybe it won’t work for everyone in every location - but it is something to consider . Bunch cheaper than buying new - and basically getting new .

    The key and the lock wear together. If one key gets used all the time it is possible that the spare won't work at all. Swap them out from time to time so that everything wears together. Fortunately there are now aftermarket ignition lacks which can be programmed to your existing key so you don't have to mess with paying someone to program them. There are procedures for programming keys yourself for many vehicles. Just search for your vehicle. As a backup, know your key code.

I have been a long time Ford admirer and started out as a Ford mechanic at a dealership if that tells you how blue my blood was. However this will be the last Ford I ever own. Its been nothing but problems and the manufacturer refuses to take any real responsibility about there poor quality and failing vehicles. Spot on! I drive one as a Chauffeur vehicle COMPLETE JUNK! The clunk from the rear end when selecting gears P, R, N, D.. the lag in normal mode, most of our drivers use sport when theres no customer on board as the shifts can somewhat be TOO aggressive for a truck LOL.. as for MPG when i drive em they do GREAT for that big a** truck

    The 2nd generation 3.5 ecoboost are rock solid. I’ve had 2 with no issues. You’re right it doesn’t feel like a v8. It’s much faster quicker than the 5.0. Way more torque and it can tow where the 5.0 screams because it’s a high revving low torque v8 made for the mustang
    The 3.5 is THE FASTEST motor in the lineup that’s not supercharged (raptor v8)
    My 22 tremor can beat any other truck out there except Trx and the v8 raptor

    • @klegrow5523
      @klegrow5523 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Patriotic Man No you would be wrong the new 3.5 has 440 horsepower and 510 pounds of torque more than a 460 and way better gas mileage. My brothers 3.5 ecoboost F150 has over 300,000 with not one problem and now his son is driving it and he bought himself a new one.

    • @datmanz5890

      Only issue with 3.5s are the timing chain drivin water pump, failed on my taurus at 145k other than that, fun, fast, very reliable engine.

    • @jimsteinway695
      @jimsteinway695 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Patriotic Man I had a 96 dodge that crapped out after 15,000 miles pulling a trailer. My mom bought a k car that had a turbo recall and it caught fire on the way home from the dodge dealer in the turbo.
      Dodge told her,a widow, to go F herself, instead of making it good. The car burned to the ground. The Fire marshal said the turbo was the issue.
      If you love Dodge go ahead. I’ll never buy another one ever again. Dodge truck resale is terrible after 4-5 years. They fall apart.
      Rock solid is to me 5-7 years of reliable duty. I’ll never keep a vehicle longer than that. Nobody in the US keeps a truck for 500,000 miles you’re dreaming . That’s not even a real data point.
      It’d take me 30 years to go 500,000 miles. Be real.

I call it a *"POOR MANS COLD AIR INDUCTION KIT"* cuz it only cost me my time and the cost of the new filter & filter cleaning kit, less than $100. I may be the only person in the world but I got rid of my 2018 Toyota Tundra back in 2021 because of a horrible electric problem that was a constant issue. In and out of the dealership monthly. Drive down the road and the cruise control would just shut itself off. Brake lights would start flashing for no reason. The craziness thing was on 2 different occasions the headlights would just turn off going down the road at night. Dealership never did figure out what was going on.
    Traded that off for a 2021 Ford F-150 and I've had absolutely no issues at all. Been a great decision so far. Toyota makes a great product but I must of gotten a dud.

  • @NickDrinksWater

    after my last ford, had it barely 3 months and the transmission went out overnight. the day before, worked fine, next day a modulator went out and now it barely works. it had an extended warranty for 10 years or 150k miles, which it was under both, so i took it to a ford dealer and they refused to do anything unless i paid a big chunk out of pocket. after arguing with the manager for a good 20 minutes i just grabbed the key and left and ended up renting a car for the time being until i figure out what to do. i wouldn't recommend ford anymore, they dont care about their customers and they arent reliable in general anymore. im sticking with either toyota or honda
