Beautiful job winging it! I love the shape and finish on the vessel. Cherry is one of my favorite woods. Cherry works great, sands and finishes nice. Best of all here in PA if someone burns wood they have a pile of cherry firewood usually willing to part with a few pieces. Thank you for posting. Be Safe!

Beautiful piece of cheery wood! I was thinking a goblet would come out, though a unique bottle surely fits the place perfectly! It’s amazing how you can make the wood walls so thin! Seems like a “miss touch” could shatter the piece in an instant! Have a wonderful week!

Hi 👋, Tanya . What a great project, cocktail 🍹 shaker , cool shaker , the Wood Pecker parting tooling is very interesting, I have seen a lot of comments on them, back in the early 80s I changed my bandsaw blade to Bi-metal blades they are normally used for cutting metal/aluminium. I had a contact for to make a Rosewood Bar as a Exhibition piece for a engineering company that made components for yachts and ships, they were the only company in Europe that could bend oval section tubing into a helix at that time, then in the late 90s I had a contact to make pepper mills, Blackwood, Rosewood, Ebony, and Plastic, as these woods are very hard normally blades would loose their teeth and edge , sorry for rambling on so much I don’t talk to many people, as I live by my self in the France, Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing your next project, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN,

@@TanyaBecherWoodturning , Hi 👋 Tanya thank you for your reply, I just wish I could get motivated to do some work for my self, as my property still needs a lot of work, but I cannot do that a the moment as I am in a 4 year battle with my ex partner, as would put the value of the moulin/mill up in a word I have been scammed, I still have a lot of my work tools and machinery , 2 wood turning lathe, Wadkin RS8- Kontour 1500A , SCM planner and SCM thickness, I had a very large work shop , specialist jointer work shop, back in the Uk , and she has been trying to get me to sell my property so she can claim half , as it is worth a lot money, at my age I be relaxing a bit, I n some respect I am as all I do each day is watching TH-cam and listening to music, I hope when things are sorted out I might start a repair work shop or to teach people wood working skills as a holiday week or weekend, just to keep my self bisse and to help in the community, Thank you for listening 👂, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, stay safe, Phil from the dark side of the moulin France
Beautiful vase! I like the way you fit the top on, sanding on the lathe, to get the right fit! love the shine/finish! I have 5 huge (24 inches by 7 foot) Cherry logs. 2 of them have big crotches. And I have no idea what I'm going to do with them yet! I also have 8 beautiful Cedar logs of various sizes, 6 to 18 inches across and 5 to 8 feet long. I think I would like to make some BIG vases with them!
You should be a professional woodturner. Tanya their is nothing you can’t do when turning wood. Your finished products are as beautiful as anyone else’s. I watch about a dozen woodworking videos. When it comes to turning projects you are as good as anyone I watch. This was a fantastic piece of work. Never underestimate yourself. Have a good weekend and hope to see you next Thursday. 😎

You can try using P.V.C. or brass plumbing threaded fittings.
