@@JackMackWoodturning Maybe one day ... once I can find some of this plywood ... that and get my finger out and start doing stuff rather than just think about it 🤣
I think I'd use a bandsaw to cut the circles out rather than trying to use a parting tool ... just need to finish off the bandsaw I started making six years ago or build the new bandsaw design I've been playing about with 👍
Once I do start doing a lot of turning I'll be looking through a lot of the projects that you and others have created ... the imagination you guys demonstrate is truly inspirational 😍

@@JackMackWoodturning oh I love wood grain so much but I didn't know this was resin. I thought this was dyed pieces of wood glued together. So this is all poured resin, cool.

Sort of. I had a little 3 foot lathe that I played with. A friend gave me an 8 foot X 3 inch diameter aluminum rod that I used to make matching wine goblets for my three sisters when they got married . They are still around too , even after over 46 years.
Wow that’s great. They have stood the test of time. You made a piece of history. I make a lot of stuff for my family. It makes me happy to know it will live on for generations to come 😊

It was eye-boggling watching the plaids emerge as you spun up the piece, just lovely! Glad you chose a finish that didn't mute the purple or dull the yellow like the darker wood finish might've. Really nicely done. Thanks for showing, and offering us a chance to win it.

This piece is right up there with the "liquorice" bowl and the "off-cuts" bowl. I can't wait to see how it compliments my decor when I win the raffle! 😁

this was very interesting on a whole lot of levels, using a vacuum to hold the wood onto the lathe, I am sure I have not seen that before. The colors remind me of a Led Zeppelin concert I was at in 73, I remember it was very loud, and the project was just amazing Jack.

Thats a clever way to make a bowl without wasting most of the inside. I've never seen anyone else do that. Came out really nice too.

I miss my wood turning and restoring old furniture plus building new furniture and turning old furniture into something different. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to finish teaching my children to use all the wood and metal tools. My doctors have put me back into the wheelchair full of life, whether it is short or long..

@@JackMackWoodturning I'm always losing them, so would never have as many as that 😆. For plywood I'd more likely just pile random heavy junk on top.
