    When I was in my 40's I started to do neck exercises. I am now 67 and do not have jowling. It's easy, drop your head back and open and close your mouth several times. You can also do a big smile and relax. You will notice this tightens your neck area. I don't even have wrinkles on my neck. It works, give it a try.

    I'm a pianist who works with a lot of opera singers, most of them don't have jowls, or very little even after 50, 60.. I am convinced after having witnessed the training, breathing and vocal exercises that this has evidently had an impact and these are singers who've been singing professionally from their twenties. This has to have an effect on their cranium structure, (?), their facial muscles and so on.

    Dr Karam I truly believe that being happy and serene makes people look younger. My mom lived to 85. She never used Botox or fillers or had a facelift. Until 2 years before her passing, she was always smiling and laughing. People loved her. She was magnetic. She never felt “invisable”. She was beautiful. Smile. It does wonders for your facial muscle tone.

    I appreciate your honesty, I quit trying to fix mine 8 years ago and I'm so happy I did. I just do my skin care and sun protection and just accept that aging is a natural progression of age. I don't won't to look 30 again because I'm not.

      @smj112 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      This is what we need more of. The natural progression of aging that is inevitable and looked down and causes women to feel looked down upon is just a false sense of living as we are meant to to live... If MEN can't accept that, then that's to do with them and not us( those whose live healthy, exercise, ty to live in a way that best nourisies our bodies) if that's not enough and we always have to look 20...well, that's a societal issue...that men need to recognize. period.

      That's a good outlook to have 😊 ...also many ppl are dealing with severer health problems that will also reflect on the quality, integrity of the skin... Been dealing with chronic health problems for over 10 years, and it doesn't matter what I do for the skin, it will not heal, damages won't reverse, tried many creams, I just react to everything... If my health internally is sick, how can your skin recover? It has to be an inside job first, then the outside will reflect the inside . The skin is usually the last to be restored once ur health is restored.
      I'm still praying for my miracles to come... I've seen God deliver me from Lyme, so now I'm praying for full recovery, I pray one day soon 😊.
      For those who have healthy immune systems, it's nothing for them to have skin bounce back, but for those who have severer compromised immune system, it's sad to watch your life, health, skin deteriorate 😢...
      God bless you, may he keep your skin looking youthful no matter what age and to be in good health 😊

I have spent money on fillers over the years, and Juvederm has helped the marionette lines, but my jowls continue to make my face resemble a hounddog. Recently, I went to a new dermatologist, who like yourself was brutally honest and told me don't waste my money on fillers -- I am at the point where the only real solution would be surgery. You confirmed in this video what she had told me. It is so refreshing that there are doctors like yourself and my dermatologist who care about their patient and not just their bank account!

      I don’t follow any specific facial exercise. I run through a little bit here & there & pick out the ones that will suit my type of face . Not everyone has the same problems, so what works for me might not work for you! Please do a lot of browsing & you’ll surely get some idea that’ll address your problem. Good luck !

    I have been on the diligent skincare train ever since my teens (I am 63). It has served me well, however, I have entered the dreaded inevitable sagging, jowling phase. A vertical restore would knock off 15 years. In the meantime, I will continue to address what is under my control as you advised. Even with the changes in face shape, a clear bright canvas is half the battle. Thank you for your honesty.

    I had a facelift eight years ago. I'm now 68. The jowling came back after two years. It's a curse. However, last year, I did undergo fat removal from my jowls. It made a big difference. Don't do the facelift, do the fat removal (liposuction). The surgeon uses a thin cannula and removes the fat as he would on your tummy or thighs. I'm happy with the before and after.

    Finally, a video that addresses the NUMBER ONE issue that ages us, the bane of my existence: jowls. I'm fine with crow's feet, grey hair, even a bit of laxity in the neck. But jowls? Ugghhh. I have great skin. Aging is so much more than skin, folks. Everybody focusing on the skin, or filling their faces, not realizing that SAG is what really ages us, and sag happens even when you have great skin!

      Thats why face exercise/yoga or machines like Cleo Q will work much better at anti aging than overpriced snake oil moisturisers ever will. They lift the underlying muscle which loses its tone and or becomes tense, which ironically makes them sag. I think thats why Gua Sha works because it relaxes the muscles

      @@womanofacertainage5892 Im sorry that youve lost friends too young, but I dont get how its always seen that not dying young HAS to be coupled with not doing anything to combat the decline of ageing. It doesnt make sense that if you live long you also cant do things to stay looking young and functioning well. Whats wrong with not dying young AND doing the best you can to stay younger and fitter? The two arent mutually exclusive

    • @womanofacertainage5892
      @womanofacertainage5892 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'm all for being as healthy and fit as possible. I didn't say "do nothing to look young and be physically fit." Not at all. I use good skin care. I exercise. I eat a healthy diet most of the time. I laugh as much as possible. I'm outside in nature when I can be. All of those things will help one feel and look younger than one's age if that's what you want. What I am AGAINST -- is people on social media (and in real life) who are spending what seems like an extraordinary amount of money and more importantly, time -- promoting "anti-aging" -- which is absurd, in reality. No one can "anti-age." Time affects every living thing. We decay, sag, wrinkle. I'm against spending (what is, for me, and I can only speak for me) an inordinate amount of time seeking the appearance of someone 20 years younger than themselves or whatever number they choose.
      Almost no one has unlimited money and no one has unlimited time -- my point is -- let's LIVE and focus on happiness and giving and health. And not as much on seeking something we can really, in the end, never, ever have -- and that is appearing far younger than we are. Be **healthy** - YES. But that doesn't necessarily mean looking as young as possible. @@superfreakmusic7681
