2 years ago I purchased a medical grade full body panel of infrared and near infrared lights by Platinum LED. I will never be without it. I'm 57 and look much younger. Even my physicians have a hard time believing my age. It's made a huge difference in my skin. It's also great for recovery after strenuous workouts & healing wounds. Being under the light is very relaxing. I use the time to meditate and do breath work as well. All have been game changers. I started out with a face mask that developed a short. I loved the light so much I decided to replace it with a full body panel. I made the right decision to invest in my overall health with these lights.
Please provide the medical grade device you purchased. It's always nice to see individuals share this information for those of us deciding or considering these devices.
I use a red light bed at my local tanning salon 4-5 times a week for 20 minutes and I love it. It makes me feel great and my skin looks great. There are 1000's of videos on YT on this topic. Some plastic surgeons use red light therapy to aid healing. So much research on this topic, we all need vitamin D for our health
Great overview. I have a Mito panel and use it 4x/wk for 10 min on my face/chest. I also do 10 min of the near infrared setting on my torso a few times a week. It has taken about 5-6 months to see changes which include faded hyperpigmentation, increased firmness (even in in my neck), hair growth (although the hairs are fine) and improved sleep (I noticed that within a few weeks). I use the near IR setting on cuts, soreness, etc as well.

Light can’t move your discs. It can aid with cellular level healing and research is showing it can help with pain as long as you keep using it. If you are having physical therapy or getting surgery, the right wavelengths can help healing and there are claims it counters inflammation.
Conduct a lot of research before applying FIR to your brain. On other posts, the comments are that even the red light melts fat. So, be careful. Foods can help your brain are fatty fishes and vibrantly colored foods. And I’m sure you already do brain games, and learning music and new languages can sharpen the brain.

I don’t know about it’s anti-aging effects, but I used light therapy to help speed up healing a foot injury and it worked. I had pain walking for over a year and nothing I tried worked. It was some kind of deep tissue penetrating light that stimulated cell repair or something. I’m no expert. I just know my foot stopped hurting a few days after treatment.
Great information. I have been using the panel on my body and the Hairmax device that I wear on my head about three times a week. I am very pleased. My hair was thinning, and it's now looking better after a year of using the Hairmax. I also receive many compliments about how beautiful my skin looks. I can see the difference also. Absolutely will be using this for life.
I kept trying to figure out if he’s in front of a green screen and the background is superimposed or if he would really have those décor items on his shelves??? 😂
I have the CurrentBody Mask. It's absolutely great with Rosazea. In my case no need of a medication anymore. Drastically improved, BUT: The skin is not tighter after current use 4 times a week, it get's lax. This is what I don't get? Maybe the deep penetrating of the Infrared light? But it's reversible. Get's better again if you stop using it. 🤷♂️
This is very strange, since red light is supposed to also promote collagen production, so the skin should be firmer... I have never heard using a RLT mask could make the skin lax.
Hi, I'm wondering if you're still using the mask? I have similar concerns about skin sag, I just bought my mask about 10 days ago, so still getting used to it. It does brighten the skin but tightness is more important to me than brightness!
Regarding the fascia that holds the skin in an elevated position on the face or neck, does either type of light rejuvenate that. If so, would the infrared be more beneficial on fascia than red.
Great video. Could you please address whether the devices are interchangeable and or multiuse? i.e. hair therapy on face or face therapy for body/hair/collagen stimulation. Thank you.
I used red light panel (660nm) for a year. It helped with discoloration, but I don't see any other improvements. I paid over $3k😢 I'm 61yrs. old, would infrared do a better job of collagen stimulation than red light for someone my age?🙏
It’s because of your age. There’s only so much it can do at a certain age as you’ve already lost alot of collagen and elastin already. I’m 38 and I’ve noticed a big improvement in my skin. It’s one of those things where they’re better if you start younger. Just like some 20 year olds would have better skin than me by starting to care for their skin now.
It is worth mentioning that the red light for hair is useless if you have increased DHT production due to thyroid issues. I had the Irestore and used it faithfully for a year, and nothing changed. But the DHT-blocking supplements do wonders....like a miracle wonders. All that said, I do like my facial red light tool.

That said, give it time to kick in, I don't think that it normal. for a while I tried a cheaper one but this one is way better!
I do both. I apply Tretinoin cream after I use the red light mask, not before. The red light mask should only be used on a clean, dry face…use your serums (or Tretinoin) immediately after. I do this twice a week and it’s been 3 months now, I saw a difference in my complexion by the 2nd month.
I used to have a baby quasar but even used with the safety glasses and padding around, I used to still get some of the light shining on my eyes and even redness on the white of the eyes at times. I stopped using it, preferring to keep my sight than having great skin.... No one never talks about that and if it is actually risky for eyesight
@@lydieazuelos7092 Yes you can do more research on it. Infrared red light is like the morning sunshine it penetrates through your eye lids , cures blur vision of old age.
Is it possible for theses devices to cause skin cancer or any type of cancer down the road? I briefly used an infra-red sauna a few years ago and then had a pre-cancerous legion on my arm.
I just got a red light therapy device and in the user manual it says that: “If you are taking medications that may cause photoallergic reactions when exposed to light, such as Tetracycline, Digoxin, Retin A.
May I ask what you used for your red light therapy?
@@AJ-hc2jjI also want to know. Have a severe foot injury for over 6 months now and I'm still a disaster and feel damaged 😢
Makes sense, it’s been used for years on animals eg in horse racing injuries
A combo of red and near infrared
Great information. I have been using the panel on my body and the Hairmax device that I wear on my head about three times a week. I am very pleased. My hair was thinning, and it's now looking better after a year of using the Hairmax. I also receive many compliments about how beautiful my skin looks. I can see the difference also. Absolutely will be using this for life.
Thank you for all these explanations and advises . ❤
I love dr.karam for his clear information with no bells or whistles attached.!!
Please which brand is better we can buy?
And give us an idea about the price .
Dr Quasar
I trust you because of the two Tom Ford books in the background. It shows you have attention to detail, good taste and class.
Lol
😂
I kept trying to figure out if he’s in front of a green screen and the background is superimposed or if he would really have those décor items on his shelves??? 😂
The hair device and face mask are not 6-8 inches away. Can you please comment on what you meant by keeping it that distance ? Thanks in advance.
Good catch....@Dramirkaram....any answer?
I have the CurrentBody Mask. It's absolutely great with Rosazea. In my case no need of a medication anymore. Drastically improved, BUT: The skin is not tighter after current use 4 times a week, it get's lax. This is what I don't get? Maybe the deep penetrating of the Infrared light? But it's reversible. Get's better again if you stop using it. 🤷♂️
This is very strange, since red light is supposed to also promote collagen production, so the skin should be firmer... I have never heard using a RLT mask could make the skin lax.
@@liviusss I also think it's strange... Maybe it's just me? 🤷♂️😅
Currentbody is a bit overpriced for what it is
@@pappin1961 Same as all the others with high quality.
Thank you for covering this, especially the laser cap. 👍🏽
Hello, van i use it with my melasma? Thank you
I would stick to only the red light and not the infrared, as the latter one creates heat and that will work against you. Hope that helps! :)
Oh I could listen to you so much longer. More info please…very interesting. Thank you so much….thank you!
Does red light mask cause skin cancer? I’ve tried one & was making my dark spots darker & causing red spots on my face. I’m confused why!
Why comment when a qualified dr doesn’t respond! Lost me.
Great video. Could you please address whether the devices are interchangeable and or multiuse? i.e. hair therapy on face or face therapy for body/hair/collagen stimulation.
Thank you.
I have one for hair: IRestore, very happy with it!
Outstanding, as always.
Does red light and infrared therapy can cause changes in my skin color? Like hyperpigmentation?
It is worth mentioning that the red light for hair is useless if you have increased DHT production due to thyroid issues. I had the Irestore and used it faithfully for a year, and nothing changed. But the DHT-blocking supplements do wonders....like a miracle wonders. All that said, I do like my facial red light tool.
Which DHT-blocking supplements do you mean? I would appreciate if you answer 🙂
@@Ed_669 Hi there, this is the one I use: Propidren by HairGenics - DHT Blocker & Hair Growth Capsules to Prevent Hair Loss & Stimulate Hair Follicles, to Stop Hair Loss & Regrow Hair. Proprietary Anti-Hair Loss & Hair Regrowth Treatment.
My hair was coming out in handfuls. Within three days it stopped! That said, give it time to kick in, I don't think that it normal.
for a while I tried a cheaper one but this one is way better!
Saw palmetto @Ed.69
Stinging nettle is also a dht blocker
If these are contra-indicated in photosensitivity, does this mean we shouldn’t use them when on Retinoids (other than Adapalene)?
Same question here .. can we use retenoid too?
I do both. I apply Tretinoin cream after I use the red light mask, not before. The red light mask should only be used on a clean, dry face…use your serums (or Tretinoin) immediately after. I do this twice a week and it’s been 3 months now, I saw a difference in my complexion by the 2nd month.
@@fatiq8297same here!
Can you provide information on the devices you mentioned? The one for hair ?
I may have missed it. What if I have melasma? That is the main reason why I haven’t bought one. Will this make my melasma worse?
I also wonder, because of the heat emitted. I have a mask and with the heat source so close to the face I'm concerned
I think its the blue light that effects melasma not red light
I have researched this and looked and looked for information and could not find a reference to it in any companies information .
It made my melasma worse so I had to stop.
Can you please recommend some at-home red light therapy machines/masks?
Hello Doctor! is there any possible link between melasma or sun spot/ sun damage and Led Therapy? TIA
i wanted to ask the same question
I heard blue light might want to be avoided for Melasma
Love these informative sessions you bless us with.. thank you
I appreciate your kind demeanour and thorough explanations about light therapy.
Thank you so much for this video Dr. Karam.
I was in the fence with this red light therapy, and now I will wait for the next sale and buy one.
I have skin cancer in the past. Is there any danger to me using Red light?
Is it safe to use if you had skin cancer?
Great Question! Wondering as well.
I used to have a baby quasar but even used with the safety glasses and padding around, I used to still get some of the light shining on my eyes and even redness on the white of the eyes at times. I stopped using it, preferring to keep my sight than having great skin.... No one never talks about that and if it is actually risky for eyesight
I got a full body one at home and not bother to put goggles in just close my eyes. It definitely improve my eyesight at 51 years old.
@@thoughtkoi Improved your eyesight???
@@lydieazuelos7092 Yes you can do more research on it. Infrared red light is like the morning sunshine it penetrates through your eye lids , cures blur vision of old age.
I’ve listened to a few practitioners of red light therapy that have said it definitely improves eyesight.
@@alisonbowen2547would you pls name the doctors, my eyesight is comprised. I would like to know more on h o w to use for eyes. Ty
Is it possible for theses devices to cause skin cancer or any type of cancer down the road? I briefly used an infra-red sauna a few years ago and then had a pre-cancerous legion on my arm.
Did you get an answer to this?? Keen to know myself. Thx
No. And correlation is not causation.
I’ve been using full body daily as my bed. I’m 150yrs old but look 28 and feel like 10.

Wtf
What Laser is the best for Rosacea and Couperose?
I have rosacea. I use the Current body LED facemask
@@alqubrusia Thank you
Love this!!!!!!!! It really works. Recommend!
Does any of these red light will increase pigmentation like melasma?
It does with me, but I like the overall effect anyway.
Love this Dr Karam!! :))) You need to carry LYMA too!! I’ll be in touch with Katherine!
Do I have to separate my hair when I use the light on my head so that the light reaches the skin of my head?
No, watch Dr Dray she uses one for hair
Oh!!! Excellent information!!!
Helps a lot!!!
I was so confused!!!
Thank you very much!!!!
Always grateful!!
God bless you!!!
I love your channel!!!😊
Great information. Can you use this in combination with trentinoin?
Yes, you can use while using Tretinoin. I use mine in tge morning before I get out of bed.
I use red light therapy for muscle repair. Relaxes my muscle after weight training. I love it
does it cause fat loss in the face?
Thank you for the info, Doctor. What is a trusted brand for laser cap?
Oh my , excellent video !
Doc......
What about hyperpigmentation of the skin? Is there any way to prevent this when using red light?
I am very prone to hyperpigmentation and have melasma. It has not made it worse in my case, in the least.
Dr. Karam, you're wonderful. Your shared knowledge is priceless.
Thank you so much for your skin classes.
I appreciate it!
Wish you would recommend a device.
Which type of light does NOT exaggerate melasma and hyperpigmentation?
Thank you for the informative video. Can red light cause/worsen hyperpigmentation?
It can with people who are photo sensitive.
Is it recommended for people with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis? Can it help?
I just got a red light therapy device and in the user manual it says that:
“If you are taking medications that may cause photoallergic reactions
when exposed to light, such as Tetracycline, Digoxin, Retin A. Consult a
healthcare professional before using red light therapy. These
reactions can be triggered or exacerbated by the light emitted from
the therapy device”
What to do? I’m currently using Tretinoin 0,1 on face and neck
Good question
I use 0.05% Tretinoin cream 3x a week on my face and neck, and I use a red light mask 2x a week (also face and neck). They work very well together.
Is it safe in case of hyperpigmentation or melasma? 🙏🙏
