    Its is such a pleasure to receive such useful, highly technical information in such a short amount of time. Thank you!

    Thanks so much. Such a detailed review had to be made by a fellow german. Finally I am very sure that The s5II with the upgrade code for external raw 12 bit is more than enough, incase I ever need it :)

      Thank you. I will also investigate the problems with the moire effect in ProRes RAW. I believe ProRes HQ or 6k is enough for a wedding if you adjust the Whitebalance with a grey-card in each room.

    More test please!!
    I got the S5 and I want to have the autofocus of the S5II for gimbal situations!
    I do not know what camera I'll but... the II or the IIx 🤔

      This depends on if you need ProRes and recording to an SSD. SSDs are cheaper but dual SD-Card recording is safer for serious client work. But then, you can only record ProRes 4k to an SSD. Resell value might also differ between the two.

    Thanks for this video!!
    One question: have you seen any difference from PRORES HQ vs PRORES? I am planning in filming everything in PRORES.

    • @CameraRig
      @CameraRig  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far, I just read that ProRes Raw HQ is less compressed and artifacts are very unlikely. But file size is a lot bigger than in ProRes Raw.
      If you refer to ProRes HQ Vs ProRes RAW, I also have a video to compare those formats at night.

    very insightful, thanks a lot, can you explain a bit what external recorder you use to record raw... is there difference between the different flavors of RAW and whats the ultimate best I can record to an SSD without recorder Im a bit confused if the 1.9 gpps is raw or RAW only for external recording right? i noticed many reviews don't mention the 1.9 gbps when choosing prores 6k... thanks

      @CameraRig  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Regarding bit-rate, you will find the most reliable information on he Panasonic website on the spec pageof the S5IIX. I think 1.9Gbps is for 60fps. Not sure.
      With the S5IIX, raw recording works only via hdmi. Some device has to capture the raw 12Bit HDMI signal. Either the Ninja V, or the BlackMagic Video Assist 12G.
      BRAW is partially debayered, so a bit less raw than ProRes RAW.
      I will make a follow up video about the workflow by end of this year.

    The internal recording pro res in hd is it raw. Will it be same as recording pro res on external recording with hd format
    ?

    • @CameraRig
      @CameraRig  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. External is better quality.
      The internal ProRes is not RAW. It is ProRes and only 10-Bit if I remember correctly. The external recording is 5.9k and in 12-Bit and the raw signal is being recorded which allows you to make a lot stronger changes regarding contrast and color grading.

    1:09 Pro res RAW is also chroma subsampled. Read the whitepaper. The noise is sharper because its not compressed as much.

      ProRes RAW White paper Page 5: www.apple.com/final-cut-pro/docs/Apple_ProRes_RAW.pdf
      ProRes RAW needs debayering. There is no information about chroma subsampling. How can it be subsampled if it is even not debayered?
      Could you please explain and cite the information you found?

    Thank you for all these tests. S5IIx looks great. There is only one element in the specs that scares me, it's the rolling shutter. Do you think that it would be problematic in a scene with a lot of mouvement and pans like this one: th-cam.com/video/-NWEfWEdQY0/w-d-xo.html

    • @mcronfpv8736
      @mcronfpv8736 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no these pans are slow, the rolling shutter won't be noticable.
      For faster moving scenes, If you want better rolling shutter performance (twice as fast), shoot in apsc crop mode.
