As someone whose been deciding between cameras, and even returned my first impulse purchased one AND lenses... This video convinced me. This is the precise Hybrid I want. I am video focused, and just want to showcase cool shit like you did here. To be able to pull out a camera and do this is amazing. This was very nice.
We had the same "once in a while" fog in Göteborg area a few days ago! I wasn't as lucky as you though and didn't get my camera out in time, haha. Thanks for the video, it looks great!
Totally agree with the pros and cons. It really surprises me how often the footage from the S5 IIx looks so much better than I expected. The autofocus is still behind from Sony but it doesn’t really bother me at all compared to the previous S5. I guess that for wedding photographers they cannot risk losing focus in key moments but for my use it is more than acceptable. Great video, I enjoyed watching it!
Totally agree on the wedding thought, I’ve previously done wedding photography and on a wedding day I would definitely go for Sony or Canon But since now I’m putting my time into youtube I’m very happy with the s5iix it’s just nice to work with :) Glad you liked it man much appreciated
Honestly, I’d rather go for a second-hand S1H because I prefer the image quality and it has an OLPF. Back when I had the FX3/FX6, I mostly stuck to manual focus anyway. Autofocus is great for some people, but if it messes up, it can ruin the whole shot. Personally, I’d much rather have full control over what’s in focus and what’s not.
@@jeansebastienleger Totally agree with the autofocus, for me it all depends of what I’m shooting so I use both of them, haven’t tried the s1h just been reading about it seems like a nice camera :)
Really like the lake / nature scene. It really looks closer to a cinema camera than video. Would love to try grading footage like this one day to see how colors and light behave within the codec. Did you use internal all intra and v-log as a format? Cheers :)
@@jordanfrankel-securityexpe8666 yes definitely this is a camera that in my opinion is a great beginner to start with and with the specs this camera have, you are gonna be able to create some very high quality things later down the road
Hello Linus, Thank you for the fantastic video! It was really helpful. I’m looking for a camera for my teaching lectures, where I’ll be standing in front of a whiteboard. I want to ensure that the focus is on both me and the whiteboard while I’m writing. Would it be better to use the FX30, or do you think the Lumix S5II would handle autofocus well in this scenario? Also, what lens would you recommend for the Lumix for this purpose? Thanks!
Thank you! Ehm in that case I don’t think it would make a huge difference, because of the situation I would be using manual focus for that scenario to keep both of you in focus :)
@@protonista3226 yeah I know and looking back on it I didn’t set up the shot great but the sun was also in it’s peak during that day, but it turned out to be a good test accidentally:)
Hello, great review, would you say the low light capabilities for photos is better than the Leica SL2? The sl2 is not much of a sports camera but it’s decent fps. Was wondering how capable this camera is for sports indoors thank you!
6 months wow congrats !!! .....to all others: Don't waste you money on Lumix the Firmware is flawed / useless. >>>> Here is why : The S cameras do not allow to automatically adjust AUTOMATIC EXPOSURE when using MF or AF/S mode. They lock AE ; so when you do a run and gun reportage video or photo your AE is locked to ONE VALUE as soon as you keep the shutter half pressed, resulting in over and/or underexposed photos and footage :) However much I love everything about my S1/S1H/S5II in all practicality they are USELESS ( so have to go back to Sony ) ... honestly I do not know how Panasonic can get away with such a glitch :) NOT A SINGLE REVIEWER HAS POINTED THIS OUT : D ... there is another serious flaw, but I leave it to you to find out ...
@@iujinairos thank you ... at least you are one of the few who knows the camera :) .... it is still a a strange one especially when you find out that Leica copied it 1:1 ... the even stranger one is that Lumix can not remember focus distance settings after switching the camera off and on again .... ( guess I'll have to use my A9IIs a bit longer - it requires much less mode hopping )
@@iujinairos Problem is the same my friend :) If you set AFL+AEL to OFF in menu and then switch from AFC to MF /AFS via the back dial or via the lens button the camera reverts to AEL lock via shutter half press instantly ( Leica Q3 and other Leica SL do the same ... #1 reason I stopped shooting Leica M cameras ... also the reason you can not shoot Zeiss ZE lenses on Pana/Leica with ANY adapter )

I would use a higher aperture what number can’t I say depends on your distance between you and the whiteboard:)

Final good footage with this camera!!
Where you get that jacket? Looks dope
It’s from a brand called revolution race :)
cool video. Also, what are you recording the audio on? the audio sounds really clean.
It’s with the sennheiser mke400 👌🏻
1. Slapping on a LUT isn't grading.
2. How is burning in a LUT a timesaver? It's between one and three clicks in post.

How's the ibis? Thinking of going full frame from the GH5.
Ibis is without a doubt the best out there
There's a new update that adds better Stab & AF....it makes the focus lock into 1 face easier.....do you have it?

No didn’t use any filters, just a variable nd for the shots during the daytime
