This was in 1994, so I also included what I could find about their current careers. •Elena Bobovnikova (née Chmil): graduated from the Mariinsky in 1998, seems to have remained a corps or lower tier soloist, and is now a coach there. • Tatiana Miltseva: graduated in 1998 also, is now with the Mikhailovsky Ballet as a second soloist. • Artem Pykachev: the only thing I could find online about him are Argentine news articles from 2010 talking about how he is coming from the Mikhailovsky Ballet to guest in Spartacus in Argentina, so I guess he must have also been in the Mikhailovsky at one point or another.

I was taught this variation by Kaleria Fedicheva back in the 1980s, in New York. Exactly the same choreography, step for step, and we had the same costumes (I don't know how she did it). Its wonderful how ballet can preserve history.

In the way that children of royal courts would be dressed in all the finery of the ladies and gentlemen, but in miniature, we still have children as part of full blown adult performances, and particularly in this piece it smacks of the same kind of novelty as children of the court.
I love watching these ballets!..I wish when I were a child that I had decided to go to a school of ballet now...what a wonderful world the world of ballet is....these videos are sooo beautiful...I want to go see a ballet in NYC!
