OK not all of them because this comment still got some support (likes) from the original AC community. I hope for next gen AC titles Ubisoft finally drop this old old engine and make a new one and then we might see some big changes in the gameplay AC Valhalla still feels the same as a AC Origins or AC Odyssey only in Norse Viking timeline.
THANK YOU, everyone acts like Ezio (even though he's great) was the first protagonist and forgets Altair. Also, I know Connor is highly hated but I connect with him in a way so I like him a lot too.
I love strong female characters, Lara Croft, Senua, Aya, Eve, Mary reed. And the list goes on, but they sold both games using almost exclusively the imagery of the male characters. And after everyone had already bought his games, invested dozens of hours, Ubi comes and says that the character most people are playing "is the wrong one" that the "true hero of this story is the one that only a third of the players chose. They didn't think a vast majority of us would choose male Eivor for a few better reasons. Plus, the voice actress really just ruined it for me. Now if someone could mod Hrafna or Martina Lotun's voices dubbed over Female Eivor's default, then 100% I'd play as CaNoN Eivor AKA female. Can't really describe it as accurately as I want to. But Female Eivor feels like a Rugged female Viking that's more Brawns than Brains when she speaks. Male Eivor is the Smooth Witty talker yet a total beast in battle which I think is the idea behind Eivor's character. Male VA nailed that character. The Female VA only nailed the tough viking part.
it all depends which generation of a player you are, and which parameters you take into consideration when deciding about the best character. For an old school player, it's story, and the emotional impact the story leaves on you. Ezio, Connor, Edward, Bayek, and Desmond. In that order.
while Kassandra felt like a better choice while playing the Odyssey campaign, male Eivor feels like the correct choice for Valhalla. scenes make more sense, voice acting is more passionate, more charming. male Eivor should be the canon for AC:Valhalla
Male Eivor has a kind of measure to his voice. It makes it sound like he thinks his words through. Female eivor sounds like she wants you to take her way too seriously. I agree about kassandra, I played through as Alexios and I feel like certain stories would have made more sense as Kassandra.
@ZernoHD mate, I leave the house plenty thanks. I played through Norway and the first saga as the female, because I wanted to be a shield maiden. I had to switch because she sounds ridiculous. She doesn't sound like a tough viking woman, she sounds like a cosplayer pretending to be a tough viking woman. It's just not good voice acting.
Evie is definitely my favorite female protagonist. I haven’t played Valhalla yet so I’m not sure what shes like yet so I can’t make proper judgment on Eivor
I was gutted because I picked alexios finished the game then tried to restart as Kassandra and she was so much better but I didn’t feel the game was new again as I’d already played it thru but oh well
Female protagonists have existed in video games for decades. Also Female Eivor is awful in every way possible and sends the message that in order for a female to be strong, she has to look less like a woman and more like a man, totally undermining any inclusivity.
Ccwwhulk In every other game the main was male so don’t go on about them trying to please female gamers when female gamers have been stuck playing male characters for over 20+ years adding female characters to games is fair
@Chosenxeno not enraged. Questioned the statement. U appeared to have been triggered though...and I can't figure out why. His two reasons are the actors vocal performance, and the uniqueness of having a strong female character in the period where there weren't many. Same things that were said about Kassandra. I guess that's enough to make the character the best.
Unlike for example Kassandra who had this charm about her that me instantly fall in love with her as character Eivor was a more gradual progress. For the first 15-20 hours of the game I thought she was kinda ''Meh'' but now almost 100 hours in I absolutely love her.
Same! I had to warm up to Eivor as well. I think the difference was we had to see Eivor in a stable setting at first, a long time after her parents died amongst her new family and her clan and working alongside her brother. But once all of that started to change and fall apart, we got to really know Eivor and who she was/how she acted. Cecilie did a fantastic job of that. Whereas Kassandra was kind of already more sure of who she was because she'd been forced to live a life of constant change and trial, so her personality felt more settled at first. They're both wonderful characters who I love dearly
To be honest, Ezio was and always will be the best protagonist. Close second is of course Edward. But the newer AC's protags have in comparison shallow personalities. Especially in Odyssey.
Female Eivor is incredible. Cecilie Stenspil managed to sound like a rugged viking who spent her days fighting and shouting, which Eivor did, and still showed true care and compassion for others, and unwavering loyalty and confidence. Eivor's voice gives me chills and I love playing as her, it is very enjoyable.

I disliked female Eivor because I’m a mean mean patriarch who feels even if her feistiness was valued her unbridled anger would have gotten her put down a long time ago.
And was not common for females to be high in the pack to this point in norse culture a few females have been found but it was predominantly male they are just trying to appease the female community here
@@fanatik471 if Ubisoft wasn’t so eager to please everyone with their gender neutral story they could actually have done something interesting to better justify female eivor’s position in the hierarchy. @@minioli01 maybe I’m not playing the same game but there are tons of people within the clan who kind of disrespect/look down on Eivor and I kind of assumed it’s because they didn’t respect a woman trying to equal a man. Also we know virtually very little about how Norse culture actually operated outside of sagas and stories. We’ve found what is assumed to be female warrior graves and we assume that they were primarily trained to fight at home and not raid but we’ve also found their graves pretty far off from the point of origin so we just don’t actually have any facts. We do know norse mythology depicts tons of warrior women so we can infer from that they were much more accepting of warrior women than other cultures were. It’s also known English people felt male norsemen were actually kind of delicate and too clean to the post they feared they’d steal their women, but they found the women to be indelicate compared to their own, so we can assume even with near traditional gender roles that their women were much more masculine in role compared to other nations.

@@fanatik471 if Ubisoft wasn’t so eager to please everyone with their gender neutral story they could actually have done something interesting to better justify female eivor’s position in the hierarchy. They could have done that with male eivor too but I think in this era the female version would have had more to prouve. I also think they shouldn’t give players choice they are mostly meaningless so they should focus on telling a good story.

Haven't played RDR1 but after you have played RDR2 i dont think you can compare any game to it. Even RDR1. It's a whole different level.
Les be honest, if AC only gave us a female hero. It wouldn't sell very well.
Lmao that’s not true
What a dumb opinion you have, we women were playing men in games since forever and we never complained. And just try it for once, seeing it from a womens kinda view! You will gain new heights of growth and understanding, you'll be a better person
@@shepardcommander5174 not a dumb opinion, men play more games, why would I create a game with only a woman as the main character, I'm in the business to make money , selling to men and boys who statistically buy hence games. Not saying women don't play games, just saying men dominate the market , so I create a product that towards them.
@@arigold4714 exactly I personally don't care about playing as a woman or not but If I get to choose I will go with the male protagonist every time, I'm so done with all this deal of " woman can do it too" thing. We have female protagonist in games but when they force it just to please some sjws it pisses me off.
@@tsugikuniyoriichi22 very well said my friend
I didn't play it yet and I can say Kassandra is the best female protagonist. Only Shao Jun may has a chance
I disagree with the title of this video
Male Eivor is so much better and it doesn’t make sense to be a female Viking
dude. read a history book LMFAO
@@nora2559You might read the countemporary writings of King's Haraldr court instead, in the original language possibly: no female was involved in the war between Haraldr and Kjötvi.
Moreover, I still have to find female vikings in the old sources.
In one of the scenes they called me a she dont know if it was a bug in the game or female evior is the cannon protagonist
Same, its the scene from essex arc right?
Even though it’s not historically accurate at all Female Eivor is canon in the Viking part of the game but when you reach Asgard you turn into the male Eivor because of the protagonist being related to Odin
@@IAmKentori at the end of the game basim hallucinates female eivor regardless if you picked the dude, basically confirming that eivor was a woman
@Mark D end of game when you take control of basim, just go outside by and he sits down and sees eivor smiling
Female Eivor is the real Eivor and male Havi is the real Havi
No....no....i don't think so...
this guy has not played a single ac game. altair ezio and bayek would like to have some words with you, sir.
Bro honestly in reality female eivor would have been killed ln the trailer before making it to the game that's the thing I know that this is only a game but seriously tho in reality the girl would not have survived against all the dudes
Not always the case
pronounced "AYE-V-OR" not "EYE-V-OR"
Male Eivor is superior in every way. Change my goddamn mind you simps who call yourself AC fans when all you know about is Kassandra and how she was “amazing”. She wasn’t btw, and neither was Alexios.
@Green Grugach 🤟🤟
I fully agree with you guys
Green Grugach
So what if there are more male gamers female gamers do exist and it’s only fair to give them characters to play as you sound like a tantrum throwing boy who refuses to accept equality
