can you tell me why does my character's head remain visible in first person? LIke, I literally see my mouth and eyes and tongue, and it makes the game unplayable. I've heard the mod maker fixed this, but since his mod is hidden I obviously can't do much...
With respect I think if I wanted to fix the protagonist it would be minor tweaks to make her look more like the actress who she's based on as other changes they made to her in mods and updates didn't do that and I think that and some minor tweaks to her general goofyness but to be honest "retrospectively" she's not the worst looking woman in a game of the last what decade. The protagonist of Horizon Forbidden West was hit much harder with the goofy stick. I like it when the woman look "Nice" they don't have to look like a professional model even if they are played by one originally. they can look more like the model when she's not at work if you like. And example is one of the later Broken Sword games the female protagonist of that game is quite nice looking but she's not like intimidating and she's just a fine looking French woman without making anyone feel inadequate or superior when looking at her. I think you can see it in a sea of "casual game" protagonists too they are all woman who are designed to appeal to woman good looking but not too good looking, and I'm happiest with that too. I think making your protagonist look like a super model or a prostitute isn't helpful to immersion and so I'm actually not that salty on the Sara Ryder Model looking Goofy she does look a lot more Goofy than Scott anyway, but over time I find her well "endearing" now for being goofy, even if I might not have minded if they'd been a little less insulting to actress. She looks better to me that the plastic looking overly enhanced look of the previous games, that actually put me off the romance plots entirely I found they all looked like creepy Androids to me. Where as Sara being a goofy flirt is kinda cute.
Maybe in part, but mostly it was due to vastly underestimating how long it would have taken to create their vision, scrapping years of work and then cobbling together Andromeda in less than a year.
The reason it works so well in first person is because of the frostbite engine they used. (Battlefield uses this engine) EA tried to save money, that was a big mistake

Also, one thing that Andromeda gets right and better than the original trilogy is the combat, the original trilogy has a great story, lore and characters, but combat in the previous games suck. In Andromeda the gameplay side is better than ever, but the story (wich is the highlight of the ME universe) completely sucks. What i said agreeing with you is that the first person mod makes the gameplay even better.
Yes for sure the mod is great! I thought we were talking about the original games engine. I was just explaining why bioware ending up using that engine instead of unreal. I agree the combat is by far the best. I didn't mind the combat in Me3. But nice upgrade in andromeda for sure. I also thought Ryder was an extremely weak main character.
I'll put it this way. If you don't like the main story and characters, then no amount of mods can fix this game. The game looks fine and the gameplay never bothered me. Customization worked well enough for me so I didn't have a problem with it. The number one problem I and many others have with this game is the story and characters. That unfortunately is something that cannot be fixed by mods.
Yes. This video isn't fixing the game at all for me (some things I find worse actually, like the new character model for Suvi what the fuck was that). I could install 1000 mods with all sorts of fixes and tweaks but if they don't change the dialogue/characters/story, then it doesn't matter. I seriously hated my own character, I could not RP them the way I wanted and it felt like all my dialogue options were between a "cringy idiot" and "slightly less cringy idiot". Also felt like they couldn't even wipe their own ass without SAM holding their hand.
@@spectralassassin6030 you're right, I shouldn't single out "woke" writing when video game/movie/TV writing has been garbage across the board....it's just that this game did have, in my opinion, the same sort of two dimensional characters that we do see in objectively "woke" writing in other IPs, but perhaps it's just a problem with creative writing in general, or perhaps an issue with game/movie/TV producers hiring these types of writers to begin with
i tried to give it a chance again awhile back. the ME community told me it was worth giving it another shot, since most of the bugs have been fixed since release. so i did, and yeah, no amount of patches or mods can fix the narrative - which is what engages me in videogames and it clearly just doesn't exist in Andromeda. whenever there are important story scenes, it all just feels like a ubisoft title rather than a passion project.

As much as all these mods help the game be more playable, the story is where I care the most about and it's just so goddamn disappointing. Need a mod that completely overhauls the entire story lol
THe story and characters suck, thats why i can play 3, 4 playthrougs of Cyberpunk 2077, with all bugs and disapoiting open world, but i didn't even managed to finish Andromeda. I get almost to the end of Andromeda but the story suck so baddly that at that point i have no reason to keep going, while in a game like Cyberpunk even if you burn out of the game play, the story and characters are good enough to keep you hooked. In fact, what i said here, may sound heresy, but if theres one thing that CDPR nail it, was the characters, wich in my opinion are more realistic, than the original ME trilogy.
Exactly. The graphics are actually okey (after they fixed the bugs) and the combat, well, let's face it, is better than in trilogy mechanically, but what matters the most sucks. So I don't think it can be fixed by mods.

@@nundzi1548well, maybe it isn't for your taste, i don't think the Mass Effect characters (from the original trilogy) are bad, but they seem to be more bland an less realistic in their emotions, character in Cyberpunk 2077 are way more realistic and believeble, than ME characters. Part of that is definetely due to the tech in making this characters, if you pay attention to them, you will see what i'm talking about. Their facial and body expression are far superior that any of the animations used in Andromeda, way more natural, also i say that the dialogue is more in tune with our own reality even the futuristic slangs fit perfectly witht the setting and characters. But compared with Andromeda characters, well, CP77 are of the charts, all MEA characters are boring afk, they remind me of a teenager series that went for more than 20 years on the main channel in my country. Again this may be our own taste, i appreaciate characters from ME trilogy, because they are mostly weird, the writers of the original trilogy made even the human characters interesting characters... In ME Andromeda they seem to be all the same, even the alien characters aren't interesting, the only one is Jaal, and even so, i find him and his species a very generic alien species. In CP77 all characters are humans, and ALL of them are interesting, from Jackie that is just a dude more or less in the same boart as you, to Jhonny wich is a rockerboy terrorist GHOST, to Alt Cunningan wich is an all powerful AI, that is based on the counsciousness of a dead woman. but even other humans are interesting, from a convict criminal that want to become a martyr, a mayor whois so paranoid that doesn't trust even on reality.

Linear experiences should always have better written characters, but people still debate legion vs ncr vs bos, and destroy vs synthesis and indoctrination.
Unfortunally this visual mod makes everyone same looking like boring plastic dolls. The original faces were not perfect in terms of technical implementation but they were natural.
shorter cinematic for take-off and landing is a must. same for anything that helps you cut back on the time wasting like faster door animations and faster Nomad with better boosts.
I HATE long landing but the mod is not working. When i load mod and press launch in the mod manager, the game launches in the task manager but i see nothing on the screen...
I actually think the base nomad is pretty fast for what it is and you can improve its boost but I do understand you and also the maps aren't too big too so it ok. I do understand you about the time wasting aspect though I had a fair share of games where especially with how big open world have gotten that I am aways looking for perks where movement speed is increased or finding the faster vehicle and still feeling like a lot of it is padding
Skippable takeoff cinematics. And for the love of all that generates Mass Effect fields a skippable planet jump system that removes that bloody pause in every damn planet's atmospheric zoom!
The absolute worst thing about Andromeda, is that if they kept it up, they could've turned it around. Look at Cyberpunk 2077, No Man's Sky, Witcher 3, ALL had absolutely horrifyingly bad launches, yet they've managed to turn them around...That kind of dedication is what we need, That kind of Dedication is what WE Ask For, a Team of devs who seem to actually give a flying f*ck about their game and refuse to let it stay in the gutter, unfortunately those kinda devs are few and far apart.
They initially had good characters and good storyline and all they had todo is to fix glitches and optimize the game unlike shitmeda or wokemeda In wokemeda all u can do is make ugly women a bit better looking with mods and change some minor gameplay mechanics but the terrible storyline and character writing you cant change by mods or patches
Nah. The thing about this game wasn’t the graphics or the gameplay. It was the boring story, the lame villains and the totally forgettable characters. The only team mate that meant anything to me was the old Krogan. PeeBee had way too much magic pixie girl energy. Liam was Jacob 2.0 (but with a British accent). Cora was like a more boring version of Ashley (thought she was gonna be a secret villain like the Illusive Man’s daughter since they share a last name). The female Turian was trying too hard to be female Garrus (they could’ve made an interesting side story about her being Saren’s daughter like she was heavily implied to be).
Andromeda was the first in the series i played, im playing mass effect legendary edition now and loving it, best series ive played since fall out, your mods are just the nuts.
Props to Synth for sharing your passion. Unfortunately you probably knew the video was just going to get hate from…well…majority of people who played Andromeda and recognized its glaring flaws right away. I hope the people who like the game follow your guide and enjoy it even more.
I agree. I am already using many of the mods, and they have enhanced my experience considerably. The story is not as good as the trilogy; the dialogue is infantile, and the characters are not as engaging....ah, but the combat. I love it.
Yeah, that thumbnail instantly put me off. Making the character 'glam' isn't better. I judged the game too harshly, after just a single playthrough. Later, I used a couple of bug-fixing mods and ReShade, giving it another chance, and it was actually much better than I remembered. It does a lot of things much better than the original and lacks in other places. The story is not as grand as the trilogy's, but that is expected. It's still a worthy sequel/side-story. And like I always keep saying, I don't know if ME4 was even necessary to make, simply because it is highly doubtful they can top the story of the trilogy (or even just Andromeda's story, for that matter). What could possibly be a bigger threat than the Reapers? Unless it'll also come from outside the Milky Way galaxy. EDIT: At 1:51 Oh, my god! What have you done with Suvi!? Yuck! Okay, that's it. I cannot take these "fixes" seriously.
@Matthew Bakos Though they left themselves a lot of room to grow a new story arc. Andromeda happens in a single cluster; what happens as they move in to the rest of the galaxy? Who are the Jardaan? Where did they go? What's with the "scourge?" Was it all that's left of the bad guys? Why did the Jardaan make the Angara? What can the coordinated vaults do? What'sthe big mystery with Jien Garson's death? What will be the relationship with Mom Ryder? Was the Archon a rogue element of the Kett, who are actually potential allies against the Scourge-makers? Will the post-reaper Milky Way send another series of arks, or maybe even build a relay gate between galaxies? (You know, now that they have 600 years of reaper tech under control...) There's a *lot* more story to tell, if they care to. I'd like to get what they did with the quarian ark and finish it out. Look what the modders did when Pinnacle Station was left out of MELE. There's lots of love for Mass Effect.
Great video. The mods definitely improve a lot of things. I enjoy Andromeda for what it is and the more I play it the more I enjoy it. I just wish that Bioware would have stuck around and done more to fix story holes and stuff like that. No DLC was a huge disappointment too. I really wanted to play as Quarians and Drell in the multiplayer.
The First Person mod is mind-blowing. Like, legit, it looks so INCREDIBLE! I'm not usually a fan of FPS games, but in this instance? I'd actually install it!
Behind all this heavy modding video there is an utterly masterful diss on this game all original trilogy Mass Effect fans simply can't adopt. When you literally don't like a game, you mod the shit out of it, dress it up and give it a new name. Brilliant.

That's what I hate with most of "I improved game with mods" - putting crapload of face and body morphs that unnecessarily and lorebreak'ily mess up women and men (mostly women) and turn them from regular people into models. Just look what they did to my Skyrim, god damn! Not a single step without stepping into mammoth flat in a form of pimped girl replacer in combat bikini.
Gonna be honest, I think the 'pretty' version of Suvi is fucking horrifying. It makes her look completely at odds with the art style of the game, and kills half the character of her design. Honestly, half the 'improving' of the characters you did just feels like turning them into generic plastic Barbie Dolls rather than actually improving them in any way.
Andromeda was never ruined...it's ALWAYS been a wonderful game and I'm the one of the biggest mass effect fan alive...It's a very different vibe because you dont play as a military personal ...you play as an explorer who has a very different vibe...the story is a waaaaaaay better start to a trilogy then mass effect 1 was and it's a shame that we will never get to see where they were gonna take this story...if the graphics didn't suck in the beginning then we would be talking about the Andromeda sequels and how awesome they are but instead the developers listened to people that don't have the attention span to sit through an awesome and sometimes slower story from the mass effect universe...
The modding community is fantastic and they made so many great mods for this game. I personally prefer to only go for QOL/Bug Fix mods. The ones that overhaul stuff and add custom textures and such are not my jam. The only mod I didn't know about was "No Scope No Problem". Was not aware that they coded the damage like that. How odd. Also, a shame that the First Person Toggle (literally the first link) is hidden. I grabbed it before it was archived, but never used it. One day I will cause I heard that playing ME games in first person mode is really a new experience all together. You start noticing things you never did before.

Couldn't believe i completed those puzzles back then I cannot imagine I played through this game. Mass Effect Andromeda was my first game of the series.Dare I say it left a pretty bad taste on my mouth for the series. Glad I went through it with all my will power, the story is slow paced pretty much anything remotely interesting takes place after 60% of the game. Wonderful Work on this Video, Made ME Andromeda significantly more interesting than it was. Onto the next one.........
Every time I start replaying Andromeda, I get to the frozen planet and the "save the whales" side quest and I call it quits. Like, the story bogs down so hard at that point and I get so tired of the "witty banter" from my crew mates (I don't mind witty banter but ffs EARN IT FIRST. I feel like no one is taking the mission seriously)

Ok, you have clearly worked a lot for this vid/modpack, and it shows. Respect for that. Though it seem we have very different preferences. At 10:12 "So you can turn this Ryder into that one" I was like: F*ck go back! GO BACK! Get that Starbucks bimbo outta my Mass Effect you heretic. And yeah "Andromeda: A Mass Effect Fanfiction from Bioware's Freshman Team" is a pretty decent game as is for me. Yyup the lauch was ugly, some of it is cringe, but this mess has a heart, and I unreasonably love it. Will probalby cherrypick like a half or third of your pack and have another go at it someday

I never thought the storyline was bad. Players were expecting ME Trilogy 2.0, another populated galaxy with the similar problems of the Milky Way. But the Initiative, Scourge, missing Arcs, Kett ascension were all really good ideas. The main flaw of the game is the supporting character's back stories including Ryders were almost non existent compared to the trilogy. Their loyalty missions were not impactful to say the least.
Personally I was disappointed at how much they DID copy the original ME trilogy: the kett felt like a weaker version of the reapers, with capturing the angara (and later the krogan) and turning them into kett - just like the reapers did with the other races. I saw the twist coming long before simply because it had already been done in the previous games. I wish they had just focused on the arcs instead.
I happen to love Andromeda. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I really enjoy it. It CERTAINLY has problems though, I myself have a small list of things I badly wish were different, mostly story related.

I would be fine even with the story, nothing to remember but ok. But the writing.. Oh man how I disliked the Marvel-esq "let´s be all funny and cool" teens in space. There were some sparks of actual seriousness and then Liam popped up from somewhere and it all went to shit.
as a 1 year late update, mods still work, there are like 2-3 cases of them outdates but they are noted on nexus mods, in case someone who wants to play this game with all these mods, as of post of this comment oct-23
@TheKurtkapan34 frosty can be found updated on github nowadays. It did work when I played the game for a month, beat it, then Uninstalled it all during the time of my post. So nowadays I haven't looked back. I checked out frosty and It seems like it still works
One og my biggest gripes with this game is the ability to be "mean" essentially removed. You can only play as a nice character except for a few dialogue options. Renegade is non existent and Ryder talks like they're in fucking kindergarten.
The storyline wasn't bad. And it was probably my favorite Mass Effect game (standalone). I unfortunately fear that due to the rushed development that the bugs were to much for people to get over within the first year of launch that I will never get the DLC or sequel I would want for the title. I am just glad that I have it though.
Thanks. Your vid did one important thing...it made me uninstall Andromeda. I had tried to play it a couple years ago, gave up and deleted it. Then I played Legendary, enjoyed Mass Effect 3 especially so I tried Andromeda again...silly rabbit. If I had your patience I might have tried some of the mods, but I would rather not go through all that hassle just to get a bad game a tiny bit better but still a bad game. So thanks for helping me clear up some detritus from my hard drive.
Still don't understand how much hate this game gets, sure it has issues like any game but it's not so bad that you need 150 mods just to play it. Played Andromeda (and the og trilogy) for the first time this year and frankly I enjoyed it. Story is linear true but gameplay is solid and easy to get into. Biggest issue I had was character design flaws but other than that, decently fun game. It's no og ME trilogy but for me, it's a good spin-off in the ME universe.
Well, I prefer the third person, especially for powers like the biotic charge and the use of melee like the Asari sword, also Mass Effect: Andromeda is very good and they were ridiculously hard on it.
I love customizing life simulator games like sims, especially when it comes to appearance. But it feels wrong to make everyone look like people who spend half of their day on how they look in Mass Effect. It is a game where everything should be gray/blue/black and feel a bit depressing. That’s the mood that is unique to the game and by making it all bring and colorful it loses itself. I got a feeling you just don’t like the game and sprayed a battleship with graffiti.
To add, it is one of the best games, even if EA f it up, but they f up because they didn’t use the frostbite engine, not because the game didn’t look like sims.
Exactly, something huge triple a development teams can’t even get right now a days. Looking at cyberpunk 2077. I don’t know how the developers can say they were going for a really immersive first person experience when every time you look at your shadow you’re character is doing the most wonky, unnatural looking animations. And you can use a 3rd person mod and see for yourself how wack all the animations look. And it really takes me out of the experience. Apart from all the other bugs like talking dead bodies, dumb combat and traffic ai, and cars and pedestrians disappearing every 3 minutes.
@@Droop-e If they had started with third person, they would have been able to map the animations to the AI so pedestrians running and fighting do so more fluidly. The basics.
Just leaving my tip here for you man: loved your 2 videos showing the mods for Mass effect, you really could do a channel just showing every game out there after the mods work and how they are improved, you definitely have the potential to do that after these 3 bangers, please consider it!
So, the big "fix" is to ruin Suvi, Peebee, and give FemRyder skimpier clothes.... Okay. I'm playing it for the first time in 2022 and it's not even that bad, it's pretty good actually. I'm 60 hours in and having fun. people just want to complain. it's not ME1-3 but it's far from a train wreck.

I'll put it this way. If you don't like the main story and characters, then no amount of mods can fix this game. The game looks fine and the gameplay never bothered me. Customization worked well enough for me so I didn't have a problem with it. The number one problem I and many others have with this game is the story and characters. That unfortunately is something that cannot be fixed by mods.

Yes. This video isn't fixing the game at all for me (some things I find worse actually, like the new character model for Suvi what the fuck was that). I could install 1000 mods with all sorts of fixes and tweaks but if they don't change the dialogue/characters/story, then it doesn't matter. I seriously hated my own character, I could not RP them the way I wanted and it felt like all my dialogue options were between a "cringy idiot" and "slightly less cringy idiot". Also felt like they couldn't even wipe their own ass without SAM holding their hand.
@@spectralassassin6030 you're right, I shouldn't single out "woke" writing when video game/movie/TV writing has been garbage across the board....it's just that this game did have, in my opinion, the same sort of two dimensional characters that we do see in objectively "woke" writing in other IPs, but perhaps it's just a problem with creative writing in general, or perhaps an issue with game/movie/TV producers hiring these types of writers to begin with
i tried to give it a chance again awhile back. the ME community told me it was worth giving it another shot, since most of the bugs have been fixed since release. so i did, and yeah, no amount of patches or mods can fix the narrative - which is what engages me in videogames and it clearly just doesn't exist in Andromeda. whenever there are important story scenes, it all just feels like a ubisoft title rather than a passion project.
Replacing the adorable original Suvi model with that plastic thing should be considered heresy...

As much as all these mods help the game be more playable, the story is where I care the most about and it's just so goddamn disappointing. Need a mod that completely overhauls the entire story lol
THe story and characters suck, thats why i can play 3, 4 playthrougs of Cyberpunk 2077, with all bugs and disapoiting open world, but i didn't even managed to finish Andromeda.
I get almost to the end of Andromeda but the story suck so baddly that at that point i have no reason to keep going, while in a game like Cyberpunk even if you burn out of the game play, the story and characters are good enough to keep you hooked.
In fact, what i said here, may sound heresy, but if theres one thing that CDPR nail it, was the characters, wich in my opinion are more realistic, than the original ME trilogy.
Exactly. The graphics are actually okey (after they fixed the bugs) and the combat, well, let's face it, is better than in trilogy mechanically, but what matters the most sucks. So I don't think it can be fixed by mods.

@@nundzi1548well, maybe it isn't for your taste, i don't think the Mass Effect characters (from the original trilogy) are bad, but they seem to be more bland an less realistic in their emotions, character in Cyberpunk 2077 are way more realistic and believeble, than ME characters.
Part of that is definetely due to the tech in making this characters, if you pay attention to them, you will see what i'm talking about.
Their facial and body expression are far superior that any of the animations used in Andromeda, way more natural, also i say that the dialogue is more in tune with our own reality even the futuristic slangs fit perfectly witht the setting and characters.
But compared with Andromeda characters, well, CP77 are of the charts, all MEA characters are boring afk, they remind me of a teenager series that went for more than 20 years on the main channel in my country.
Again this may be our own taste, i appreaciate characters from ME trilogy, because they are mostly weird, the writers of the original trilogy made even the human characters interesting characters...
In ME Andromeda they seem to be all the same, even the alien characters aren't interesting, the only one is Jaal, and even so, i find him and his species a very generic alien species.
In CP77 all characters are humans, and ALL of them are interesting, from Jackie that is just a dude more or less in the same boart as you, to Jhonny wich is a rockerboy terrorist GHOST, to Alt Cunningan wich is an all powerful AI, that is based on the counsciousness of a dead woman.
but even other humans are interesting, from a convict criminal that want to become a martyr, a mayor whois so paranoid that doesn't trust even on reality.

Unfortunally this visual mod makes everyone same looking like boring plastic dolls. The original faces were not perfect in terms of technical implementation but they were natural.
shorter cinematic for take-off and landing is a must. same for anything that helps you cut back on the time wasting like faster door animations and faster Nomad with better boosts.
I HATE long landing but the mod is not working. When i load mod and press launch in the mod manager, the game launches in the task manager but i see nothing on the screen...
I actually think the base nomad is pretty fast for what it is and you can improve its boost but I do understand you and also the maps aren't too big too so it ok. I do understand you about the time wasting aspect though I had a fair share of games where especially with how big open world have gotten that I am aways looking for perks where movement speed is increased or finding the faster vehicle and still feeling like a lot of it is padding
Skippable takeoff cinematics. And for the love of all that generates Mass Effect fields a skippable planet jump system that removes that bloody pause in every damn planet's atmospheric zoom!
The absolute worst thing about Andromeda, is that if they kept it up, they could've turned it around.
Look at Cyberpunk 2077, No Man's Sky, Witcher 3, ALL had absolutely horrifyingly bad launches, yet they've managed to turn them around...That kind of dedication is what we need, That kind of Dedication is what WE Ask For, a Team of devs who seem to actually give a flying f*ck about their game and refuse to let it stay in the gutter, unfortunately those kinda devs are few and far apart.

Nah. The thing about this game wasn’t the graphics or the gameplay. It was the boring story, the lame villains and the totally forgettable characters. The only team mate that meant anything to me was the old Krogan. PeeBee had way too much magic pixie girl energy. Liam was Jacob 2.0 (but with a British accent). Cora was like a more boring version of Ashley (thought she was gonna be a secret villain like the Illusive Man’s daughter since they share a last name). The female Turian was trying too hard to be female Garrus (they could’ve made an interesting side story about her being Saren’s daughter like she was heavily implied to be).

I agree. I am already using many of the mods, and they have enhanced my experience considerably. The story is not as good as the trilogy; the dialogue is infantile, and the characters are not as engaging....ah, but the combat. I love it.

Yeah, that thumbnail instantly put me off. Making the character 'glam' isn't better. I judged the game too harshly, after just a single playthrough. Later, I used a couple of bug-fixing mods and ReShade, giving it another chance, and it was actually much better than I remembered. It does a lot of things much better than the original and lacks in other places. The story is not as grand as the trilogy's, but that is expected. It's still a worthy sequel/side-story. And like I always keep saying, I don't know if ME4 was even necessary to make, simply because it is highly doubtful they can top the story of the trilogy (or even just Andromeda's story, for that matter). What could possibly be a bigger threat than the Reapers? Unless it'll also come from outside the Milky Way galaxy.
EDIT: At 1:51 Oh, my god! What have you done with Suvi!? Yuck! Okay, that's it. I cannot take these "fixes" seriously.
@Matthew Bakos Though they left themselves a lot of room to grow a new story arc. Andromeda happens in a single cluster; what happens as they move in to the rest of the galaxy? Who are the Jardaan? Where did they go? What's with the "scourge?" Was it all that's left of the bad guys? Why did the Jardaan make the Angara? What can the coordinated vaults do? What'sthe big mystery with Jien Garson's death? What will be the relationship with Mom Ryder? Was the Archon a rogue element of the Kett, who are actually potential allies against the Scourge-makers? Will the post-reaper Milky Way send another series of arks, or maybe even build a relay gate between galaxies? (You know, now that they have 600 years of reaper tech under control...)
There's a *lot* more story to tell, if they care to. I'd like to get what they did with the quarian ark and finish it out. Look what the modders did when Pinnacle Station was left out of MELE. There's lots of love for Mass Effect.

Great video. The mods definitely improve a lot of things. I enjoy Andromeda for what it is and the more I play it the more I enjoy it. I just wish that Bioware would have stuck around and done more to fix story holes and stuff like that. No DLC was a huge disappointment too. I really wanted to play as Quarians and Drell in the multiplayer.

Gonna be honest, I think the 'pretty' version of Suvi is fucking horrifying. It makes her look completely at odds with the art style of the game, and kills half the character of her design. Honestly, half the 'improving' of the characters you did just feels like turning them into generic plastic Barbie Dolls rather than actually improving them in any way.

Andromeda was never ruined...it's ALWAYS been a wonderful game and I'm the one of the biggest mass effect fan alive...It's a very different vibe because you dont play as a military personal ...you play as an explorer who has a very different vibe...the story is a waaaaaaay better start to a trilogy then mass effect 1 was and it's a shame that we will never get to see where they were gonna take this story...if the graphics didn't suck in the beginning then we would be talking about the Andromeda sequels and how awesome they are but instead the developers listened to people that don't have the attention span to sit through an awesome and sometimes slower story from the mass effect universe...

The modding community is fantastic and they made so many great mods for this game.
I personally prefer to only go for QOL/Bug Fix mods. The ones that overhaul stuff and add custom textures and such are not my jam.
The only mod I didn't know about was "No Scope No Problem". Was not aware that they coded the damage like that. How odd.
Also, a shame that the First Person Toggle (literally the first link) is hidden. I grabbed it before it was archived, but never used it. One day I will cause I heard that playing ME games in first person mode is really a new experience all together. You start noticing things you never did before.

Glad I went through it with all my will power, the story is slow paced pretty much anything remotely interesting takes place after 60% of the game.

Every time I start replaying Andromeda, I get to the frozen planet and the "save the whales" side quest and I call it quits. Like, the story bogs down so hard at that point and I get so tired of the "witty banter" from my crew mates (I don't mind witty banter but ffs EARN IT FIRST. I feel like no one is taking the mission seriously)

I never thought the storyline was bad. Players were expecting ME Trilogy 2.0, another populated galaxy with the similar problems of the Milky Way. But the Initiative, Scourge, missing Arcs, Kett ascension were all really good ideas. The main flaw of the game is the supporting character's back stories including Ryders were almost non existent compared to the trilogy. Their loyalty missions were not impactful to say the least.
Personally I was disappointed at how much they DID copy the original ME trilogy: the kett felt like a weaker version of the reapers, with capturing the angara (and later the krogan) and turning them into kett - just like the reapers did with the other races. I saw the twist coming long before simply because it had already been done in the previous games. I wish they had just focused on the arcs instead.
I think the storyline has potential but wasn't realized at all unfortunately.
People can flame this game all they want, I still think it's pretty good on it's own actually.
I happen to love Andromeda. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I really enjoy it. It CERTAINLY has problems though, I myself have a small list of things I badly wish were different, mostly story related.

@TheKurtkapan34 frosty can be found updated on github nowadays. It did work when I played the game for a month, beat it, then Uninstalled it all during the time of my post. So nowadays I haven't looked back. I checked out frosty and It seems like it still works
One og my biggest gripes with this game is the ability to be "mean" essentially removed. You can only play as a nice character except for a few dialogue options. Renegade is non existent and Ryder talks like they're in fucking kindergarten.

The storyline wasn't bad. And it was probably my favorite Mass Effect game (standalone). I unfortunately fear that due to the rushed development that the bugs were to much for people to get over within the first year of launch that I will never get the DLC or sequel I would want for the title. I am just glad that I have it though.

Thanks. Your vid did one important thing...it made me uninstall Andromeda. I had tried to play it a couple years ago, gave up and deleted it. Then I played Legendary, enjoyed Mass Effect 3 especially so I tried Andromeda again...silly rabbit. If I had your patience I might have tried some of the mods, but I would rather not go through all that hassle just to get a bad game a tiny bit better but still a bad game. So thanks for helping me clear up some detritus from my hard drive.

Still don't understand how much hate this game gets, sure it has issues like any game but it's not so bad that you need 150 mods just to play it. Played Andromeda (and the og trilogy) for the first time this year and frankly I enjoyed it. Story is linear true but gameplay is solid and easy to get into. Biggest issue I had was character design flaws but other than that, decently fun game. It's no og ME trilogy but for me, it's a good spin-off in the ME universe.

Well, I prefer the third person, especially for powers like the biotic charge and the use of melee like the Asari sword, also Mass Effect: Andromeda is very good and they were ridiculously hard on it.
I love customizing life simulator games like sims, especially when it comes to appearance. But it feels wrong to make everyone look like people who spend half of their day on how they look in Mass Effect. It is a game where everything should be gray/blue/black and feel a bit depressing. That’s the mood that is unique to the game and by making it all bring and colorful it loses itself.
I got a feeling you just don’t like the game and sprayed a battleship with graffiti.
To add, it is one of the best games, even if EA f it up, but they f up because they didn’t use the frostbite engine, not because the game didn’t look like sims.

I don’t know how the developers can say they were going for a really immersive first person experience when every time you look at your shadow you’re character is doing the most wonky, unnatural looking animations.
And you can use a 3rd person mod and see for yourself how wack all the animations look. And it really takes me out of the experience. Apart from all the other bugs like talking dead bodies, dumb combat and traffic ai, and cars and pedestrians disappearing every 3 minutes.
@@Droop-e If they had started with third person, they would have been able to map the animations to the AI so pedestrians running and fighting do so more fluidly. The basics.
Just leaving my tip here for you man: loved your 2 videos showing the mods for Mass effect, you really could do a channel just showing every game out there after the mods work and how they are improved, you definitely have the potential to do that after these 3 bangers, please consider it!
So, the big "fix" is to ruin Suvi, Peebee, and give FemRyder skimpier clothes.... Okay. I'm playing it for the first time in 2022 and it's not even that bad, it's pretty good actually. I'm 60 hours in and having fun. people just want to complain. it's not ME1-3 but it's far from a train wreck.
I would pick peebee anytime than liara, and matter of fact n would replace every asari in mass effect with peebee looks
