the game isn't really that long, 6 + 1/5th worlds, but its shit like that, which makes one die so much and repeat over and over making the game last a while.
Have to agree completely. It was most certainly the MOST CHALLENGING game of the trilogy, along with it's darker theme and unforgettable nostalgia-inducing soundtrack, it is easily the best Donkey Kong game ever made to many more than just us, that's for sure.
Rare and Miyamoto had a trouble in this time, miyamoya was jealous of the first DKC becuse sells more than yoshi island. and Rare for the secound game hide DK, because DK its creation of miyamoto, and only use 2 chimps createdbu Rera Dixie and Diddy, and them put all the power in the secound game for that
Although K. Rool isn't the most memorable last boss of the old days, he does carry the best battle songs of all time, and for that he will never be forgotten :)

All you gotta do is as soon as you know K. Rool is about to throw the pink/ blue blob things, get to the opposite side of the screen, as soon as he shoots the first one, run holding Y, jump and you'll clear it every time
I still remember the first time I heard this song, back in 1996-97, in my friend's house. All the boys like "WTF how can we beat this guy?!" and I was like "WTF this is the awesomest song ever! Smash 'em Kaptain!"
I actually rage quit this game at Web Woods because of its difficulty and I couldn't appreciate it. A few months later I looked back on it and I now recognize it to be my second favorite game of all time.
You sir obviously don't understand how much of a blessing it was,I mean you had to discover everything the game had,not have it practically spoonfeed to ya like when you look up a walk through on the internet, man I miss those days.Thumbs up if you agree.
Can we all just take a minute and realize that K. Roll has got to be one of the most resilient bosses in Nintendo's history. The dude can take multiple explosions from a jammed blunderbuss and shake it off, and is only defeated when DK shoryukens him right out of his own airship. And that's not even including the true ending when he's defeated, which is even more painful.
That David Wise kicks ass with both final battle themes! Personally, I like this the most; the first one is a solid classic, but I catch even more feeling in this one.
This has got to be the best final boss battle music. It really sums up the journey leading to the final confrontation with Captain K. Rool. It's like everything has lead you to this point and it's all on the line. I love it.
one of my favorite boss battle themes of all time. this song gave you the idea that K. Rool was not as easy as you normally thought he would be. I FOREVER CURSE HIS BLUNDERBUSS!!!! stupid control clouds.
this and the mining theme is the best in my opinion. Just love the calm part a lot and this is not what I think of when i hear this final theme, it sounds like it should be in something far more evil and badass
That last cannonball is a biyotch to dodge as Diddy but kicked K.Roolcs scaly reptilian ass as Dixie and watch Donkey Kong took him to Knucklepunch City.
The best game of the trilogy, a true master piece. Nowadays most of games require at least 1GB of ram to Run decently, but this, this games are a technical miracle.
I'd disagree, but it does feel more like a final boss them should. Gangplank Galleon was good enough, but this is so much better. "I'm not screwing around this time! I don't want that stupid pile of bananas anymore; I want your heads on a platter. LET'S FIGHT!"
@zPeidin Thanks. I just listened to the soundtrack again and I somehow overlooked it, this song actually IS on there. It's called "Crocodile Cacophony".
This is the new song I listen to before a home wrestling meet. I got a crap load of video game boss songs on my mp3 player. I got some banjo kazooie, dkc, dkc2, dkc3, streets of rage, and all the good stuff.
We had Nintendo Power to learn the 75-Kremling Koin trick from! Jeez, people acting like there was absolutely no way to get things without the usage of the Internet. Yeah, you needed your own wit to get past obstacles, or to find most of the secrets in the game (because occasionally you'd see one in an obvious location), but there was always NP or Player's Guides or if all else failed, you could ask a friend about certain parts of games.
Dixie helped a lot! Without her it would've been so hard, her glide ability just made it a bit easier, i normally used Diddy as sort of a barrier character for Dixie, if i felt a part was too hard i tried it out with Diddy and then if he died i could do it with Dixie
It was something between Rare/Nintendo and Microsoft. Since Nintendo doesn't own Rare, Microsoft made Nintendo remove the DKC trilogy from the Wii's VC, sadly. Kinda peeved I missed out on getting DKC3 though, it was removed well before I knew it happened.

Yeah sometimes got you.

I agree
Sometimes it's better to leave what's good alone. I don't want them ruining this villain like they ruined the series.
Mr. Loowiz Have you not played Tropical Freeze? Take off the nostalgia goggles, bub. It's the best game in the series, K Rool or not.
Unoriginal Username I have and I didn't like it. No nostalgia goggles here, just the truth. I never judge a game without playing it, without bias.
Mr. Loowiz Then please kindly explain to me how Retro 'ruined the series.' I'd respect your opinion quite a bit more if you backed it up.
This epic theme and boss fight is one of the reasons why DKC 2 is the best of the trilogy.
Not to mention that the game is hard as crap!
Don't remind me of animal antics!
***** Maybe yours.
+Taylor Bevill It may be hard but at least I struggled trying to beat it.
real
This game was so much darker than the first and the third one. By far the best one of the trilogy, IMO.

Badass boss theme.
