This is an age-old story beginning with taia777 in 2012, where people from all walks of life would comment about how their life is going. In 2020 that original video was removed. In that video's honour, I have kept both the original title and video, as we have all found the video recommended to us seemingly from nowhere, with a Japanese title and low-graphics thumbnail. Yet, out of curiosity, we elect to watch it and find a beautiful community of commenters

this is probably be the most touching and relatable one here.
Try practicing gratefulness : Every night, before going to bed, take time (abt 5min) to write down a couple of things you are grateful for, like "I'm grateful that pasta exist" or "I'm grateful to have that nice friend". I know it sounds a little funny, but doing that makes you feel in average happier. Of course don't take that as a miracle solution, but at least try it out ! It can't hurt xD. Have a great life !

Make a list of what is fact and what is your mind telling you. For example. your mind telling you "I am worthless'. fact: "I am good at this... or that...". Even if your fact is.. 'No one is worthless'. Trick is to remember your value always.... because we forget and we make all this irrational thoughts in our head that sound so 'logical' or 'better for everyone'... when they are not. Even at your lowest.... we are not beings wired to hurt ourselves... any thought of it.. is a lie our mind is telling us. Please seek professional help.. medicine does work... and do everything else you can as supplement.

Im so sorry for your loss, my brother is graduating in a few weeks, and ive genuinely considered suicide, I was in enough pain that I didnt consider how someone like him would process it if I went through with it. When someone is in that much pain its very easy to forget how others would take it, but it never has to do with how much you love someone, im sure he loved you so much more than you know 💜💜

Make sure not to overwork yourself!! Med school seems VERY hard. Keep going! It gets better as you go.
As someone who is married to a professor that advises pre-med students, keep in mind that med schools won't touch a transcript under 3.7GPA since it is so competitive. Have a back-up plan just in case, USE YOUR UNIVERSITY'S FREE TUTORING SERVICE, and don't keep retaking classes - med schools won't like that and you'll be wasting a lot of money. Of course, develop strong study habits if you haven't already - Chemistry, in particular, can NOT be memorized with flash cards; you need to be able to understand the concepts in order to pass. Best of luck!

When i was younger and in school i had a similar period of my life. I managed to pull through, but it took many, many years to recover, and it was very hard.
Video games were my escape as well. If you can stomach it, listen to reggae music, that lifted me up during my hardest years.

@CamelGuy3 - My advice to you is to do something fun that'll also better you outside of classes. I think taking up physical exercise like martial arts, working out or a sport would be great for your confidence and you could meet some great people whilst doing it. Also do nofap, eat healthy. All of these will sky rocket your confidence, and you'll be able to stand up for yourself a lot more easily.
You got this man, I believe you can defo turn things around, take it from me, I had a year where I felt friendless and hated life, followed by the best year of my life when I did nofap, meditation and living a healthy life style.
As someone who’s also gone through this, it’s not about what others think of you, it’s about what you think of yourself, always look up, your fight isn’t over yet soldier.

Life is so strange.. im 27 years old, and never encounted the original internet checkpoint. And seemingly out of nowhere, i get recommended this video in the same way many others have. The japanese text, the unassuming backround.. I cannot explain the instantaneous flood of emotion that came over me. It is one of the most human experiences ive ever had. Reading all of these stories, struggles, and glimmers of hope gives me the strength to continue. While I may not have been there to see the original, this hit me just as hard.
The battle continues, and I must move forward.

Checkpoint 6/6/23: My German Shepard just passed away a few days ago. She had cancer, and was trying her hardest to hold on for the last few months of her life. She was such a warrior, she would do anything to protect me and my family. I'm so glad I got to meet her, I hope now she is peaceful, running and playing, chasing squirrels, just like she used to ❤
Men what a coincidence. My girl was also a german shepherd. Also died a few days ago. Time has been rough lately, hope you do okay. She is out there in heaven, don’t let your memories die.

Please do talk to her while she still can. Ask questions like when/whatwas she most proud of you. Tell her about when you are most proud of her and how you brag about her. When you're away tell her you miss her and you love her. Time is of the essence. Make her feel only love before she depart. Think of it that it is the outcome. Be prepared for the worst, yet show her the best love

Checkpoint (06.5.23) One month away from being two years sober from heavy alcohol abuse in my early 20’s. Working full time at a pet shop while taking care of my cat who I would kill god for. Still feel alone most days but music like this is comforting and makes me feel warm all over my body. I thank those who are like minded and understand how this makes us all feel.

Checkpoint: Just turned 21 and have experienced more loss in the last 2 years than any other point in my life. 7 family members gone to various illnesses, went through a breakup as well. Here’s to a better future
Checkpoint : Still homeless with my wife, working as a sign holder for a smoke shop right now.
Not much else has changed, still need a shower and a real meal.
I think this is the only completely nontoxic space on the internet that everyone can just come and get something off their chest and I think this internet tradition is so beautiful.
Even though this is my first time experiencing a checkpoint, I feel so proud to be a part of the tradition and even more welcomed by the thousands of others who are just as kind to eachother.
