In a way vigilante Joker resembles justice in the purest way: He doesn't limit his view at laws, he sees people for what they did. He doesn't understand Batman's concept of putting a rule above everything else when Waller was obviously ruthless and would definitely not be imprisoned that easy giving her position of power. And he also sees no logic in letting things go unpunished simply because people like Waller are in a high position and can thus excuse their crimes with their authority. Waller = classic Utilitarianism ("the doctrine that actions are right if they are useful or for the benefit of a majority.") Vigilante Joker = Situational Ethics ("Situational ethics or situation ethics takes into account the particular context of an act when evaluating it ethically, rather than judging it according to absolute moral standards.") Batman = Moral Absolutism ("Moral absolutism is an ethical view that particular actions are intrinsically right or wrong. One interesting thing about the Joker here is that he's so egocentric, he assumes that everyone who doesn't share his philosophy is doing so out of corruption. But that's consistent with John's general inability to see things from other people's points of view. If Bruce doesn't trust him, he considers that betrayal, even if Bruce has valid reason not to. If someone accuses him of murder, it must be because they're trying to frame him, not because they've been misinformed. And if someone doesn't have the same definition of justice as he does, it means they're just assigning arbitrary definitions to that word to do whatever they want.
Mura But if you think about it, Bruce isn't really that different. His desire for justice is based on the feelings of sorrow and anger due to his parents death. He became a crime fighter for revenge. Revenge for his dead parents, that is Batman's drive. Batman might not kill (because killing is something that took his parents away) but its not hard to see that the man is full of darkness. Just compare him to Superman, it's like the day vs the night. Literally actually if you think more about it. One big difference between John and Bruce is that John realizes his darkness. He knows he's insane. Bruce on the other hand denies that. I'm really glad that Telltale's Bruce/Batman can be played a bit differently than casual. Batman is my favourite superhero but he has a lot of things that annoy me about him.
Personally prefer this fight. Both Bruce and Joker stand evenly matched when they are both prepped for the battle instead of in the Villain battle where they both have nothing but knives. Not only is it more action packed, but it is more emotional since John is turning darker and darker while he is fighting Bruce. In the villain one, he is already the Joker.
Gotta feel sorry for the guy. I hated Waller. Joker was right, she used people because they're expendable, and she did try to blame Riddler's death on him. I didn't like some of the choices they give you. I wouldn't have cared if she died. Cops kill, and they're the "good guys". Tiffany also killed, but she's not a bad person.
The Joker was always unstable though. Even in the beginning with the Bane fight the Joker almost knifed the guy to death. And look how he lost it against those agents. He's too unstable to remain a good guy for long. Plus we now know he lied about killing those agents in episode 4...the guy obviously flipped out and went all Joker on them.
I don't know... I wouldn't be surprised honestly, seems like an Agent move to do. His story was a bit off, but I still wanted to trust him. There's always more to a story than what you see. And Waller did try to shoot him too just because he wouldn't give her the virus.

But to play Devil's advocate...John was the most unstable guy in a group that she assumed wanted to poison the city. But Joker's story was fishy to me...especially with the agent shot in the back. Plus look how creepy that place was decorated. There was something in John that came out that was dark and scary...and as this episode showed...the agency was no match.

I like how telltale let's you choose what batman you want to believe in. A cruel batman with a code that he follows, a hard stand law batman who believes in the system, or a compassionate batman who believes in the best of people.
Well it depends on the choice you make. You can either choose to tell Joker he was your friend and redeem/save him or tell him you were never his friend and he will be your enemy.
I loved this scene when I first played through it. This episode felt like a real Batman story that we could see in one of those realistic TV shows. John’s descent into Joker was slow in the Vigilante path and I preferred it that way. I trusted John throughout episode 4 because he’s honestly a good guy. He just has “mild” lapses in judgement. While the first season didn’t really strike me as exciting, the second really got me because it has harder choices. I admit, I saw John as one of the greatest characters and a friend. I really hope that they make a season 3, but due to the slight variety in endings, such as whether you give up Batman or not, something huge is probably gonna take place if it does. Best guesses is Scarecrow (I really want to see him), Red Hood (would probably be awesome, but might be a repeat of Vigilante Joker), or a massive ensemble of villains. Hope they make another one.

I had to... Once... It was just as brutal as this, but I was on the Joker end of it. I was asking "Bro do you even care for me as a friend anymore." and he absolutely flipped. We ended up DBZ punching each other in the face. He was like Batman how he's constantly always this righteous person that knows everything, but when push comes to shove he can't do anything and shuts down into his own little world. It was very... very... sad and watching this just gives me this nostalgic feeling of how much he'd say he'd always be there for me as we were friends from when we were 6 to now, but it ended up being he was never there in the end. :'-(

I guess that is because the batsuit is like a kevlar vest, it could protect you from firearms and some hits, but it don't give you protection against bladed weapons like knives

There was some foreshadowing in season 1 where the news feed states that someone fell into chemicals. Its not necessarily John, but its possible, especially considering he has no memories of anything before Arkham, and green hair isnt exactly natural.
I always go for the villain route. Don't get me wrong. I was friendly to him throught out the game. Up until the carnival part. I wanted to go the Vigilante route. But that would mean destroy the virus, aka Freeze's only hope to cure Nora. Not to mention, the more I thought about it, the more sense it made to have Jonh arrested. He had a thing for unrestrained violence, and Bruce wasn't exactly in a morally clear lign of profession.

This is the ending I got on my first play through (mainly because I bloody adored John and wanted to be his bestie for as long as possible) but for me, this ending was not as satisfying as the villain route. For one thing, it makes Batman look like a complete douche. He totally uses John, a man with a mental illness completely out of his control. All he fucking wanted was a friend, the poor guy! Bruce continuously manipulates him in order to carry out his mission. Even if it was for the greater good or in the name of justice, his actions are beyond cruel and not that of a hero! Particularly if you choose dialogue options like “you were simply a means to an end” like jesus no wonder John went insane if people have always treated him the way Bruce does in this! Secondly, a lot of what John says at the end is true! The sadistic, murdering, maniacal villain hits the nail right on the head! He shows how grey ‘justice’ can be and that Batman’s so-called ‘code’ doesnt really work. A woman in Waller’s position would never go to prison or face true justice the way a normal person on the street would. Society is unfair and unjust. It’s absolutely true! Anyway, that’s kind of why I didn’t like it as much. Batman looks like a dick and Joker seems to be the saner of the two considering everything that’s happened to him. I just love classic joker too. “I’m the villain of your dreams!”

There was some foreshadowing in season 1 where the news feed states that someone fell into chemicals. Its not necessarily John, but its possible, especially considering he has no memories of anything before Arkham, and green hair isnt exactly natural.

I always go for the villain route. Don't get me wrong. I was friendly to him throught out the game. Up until the carnival part. I wanted to go the Vigilante route. But that would mean destroy the virus, aka Freeze's only hope to cure Nora. Not to mention, the more I thought about it, the more sense it made to have Jonh arrested. He had a thing for unrestrained violence, and Bruce wasn't exactly in a morally clear lign of profession.

This is the ending I got on my first play through (mainly because I bloody adored John and wanted to be his bestie for as long as possible) but for me, this ending was not as satisfying as the villain route.
For one thing, it makes Batman look like a complete douche. He totally uses John, a man with a mental illness completely out of his control. All he fucking wanted was a friend, the poor guy! Bruce continuously manipulates him in order to carry out his mission. Even if it was for the greater good or in the name of justice, his actions are beyond cruel and not that of a hero! Particularly if you choose dialogue options like “you were simply a means to an end” like jesus no wonder John went insane if people have always treated him the way Bruce does in this!
Secondly, a lot of what John says at the end is true! The sadistic, murdering, maniacal villain hits the nail right on the head! He shows how grey ‘justice’ can be and that Batman’s so-called ‘code’ doesnt really work. A woman in Waller’s position would never go to prison or face true justice the way a normal person on the street would. Society is unfair and unjust. It’s absolutely true!
Anyway, that’s kind of why I didn’t like it as much. Batman looks like a dick and Joker seems to be the saner of the two considering everything that’s happened to him.
