Fun fact, for deathstroke's fight, you don't need to take out the cobras, you can just go and attack slade, it's incredibly easy and makes the fight even more underwhelming
I believe Arkham knights fight should have been like Mr freeze, like how you need to keep adapting to the fight. This makes more sense because the whole time the plot is shouting in your face that Jason Todd knows all of Batman’s tricks and for not getting a single boss fight in the main story this should have been a longer one. He felt super easy to beat
Yeah another big problem with the batman boss battle in that crappy game is that the nightmare batman design isnt scary i mean its fear toxin makes you fear stuff see stuff as elderich demons but in ssktjl its batman but glowing orange in origins knight and shadow fear batman litteraly looks like a demon and the last thing you want to see in darkness

imagine telling someone before Arkham Knight came out that Riddler had the best combat boss fight in the game and Arkham Knight sidnt have a combat fight smh
I don’t see why that’s a bad thing. Batman’s a better character when he’s stealth focused, and since the knight has his training from the dark knight it makes sense that it’s a predator section. Plus the predator fights are the best in the series (although that may be my bias toward stealth games as a whole).
@gregg7439 One of every fight would've made sense. One tank at the beginning, to showcase the Militia's power, one combat section, to show his combat prowess, and one stealth, to actually showcase that he knows how Batman thinks.
I'm not big on rankings, so I don't see any reason to argue against yours. I just like hearing different people's impressions. I think you made a good argument for yours. And though I didn't think much of the batmobile element of Arkham Knight, I think ranking with a particular bias against them would undercut the point of ranking, if there is one. So I'm glad you enjoyed them. But I think you made a great choice with the #1. I see why people like the Mr. Freeze boss fight. This is kind of a baby gamer game series, that kind of holds your hand as you learn the basics of gaming. It certainly made a great re-introduction to modern games for me, after years of ignoring them. But what the Mr. Freeze fight does is force you out of your comfort zone to try all the attacks you were too lazy to explore before. I think more games need to do that, to force players to try all the different tricks at the same time, rather than focusing on any specific one. Plus, because it's a stealth fight, it doesn't have the frantic mindlessness of a brawl, where you don't have a chance to stop and consider all the moves. But I have to give kudos to the Deathstroke fight for shoe-horning a truly memorable one-on-one engagement into a game that's absolutely not built for it. The biggest problem with a lot of these boss fights is that they turn top-tier characters like Two-Face into just another thug. But that's because, for the most part, these games went all in on just two combat formats, brawling, and stealth. And neither of them are really designed to scale up in complexity or challenge. You can't make Two-Face into an extra-challenging thug, because no one thug is meant to offer a challenge. The challenge was always in numbers. So the developers had to basically start from scratch with their boss fights. That's why they almost feel like a different game. And they're mostly pretty basic, one-note challenges. In addition, most of them have thugs peppered in just to keep it challenging. But they didn't need to do that for Deathstroke. That fight clearly began with parts from the Ra's Al Ghul boss fight in Arkham City. But the way they built it out was impressive. And you can tell they really stretched the game to its limit to make it feel similar enough to the brawl combat, but its own unique experience. I think it shows you how hard they worked on it that they never did anything like it again anywhere else in the game. It's a shame that they couldn't give Shiva a similar treatment. But I think they only had time for one like this.
Batmobile has 2 problems - it's overused in main story, and starting version is sooo weak. Once you can use it when and where you want and put some upgrades into it, yes, it's way more fun.

Ignoring that I feel like the cloud burst fight goes on for way too long. I feel like the boss should’ve just been when you’re taking out the cooling system and the rest is filler. This is an issue Arkham Knight has as a whole (the ace chemicals and stags airship levels feel overly long too for example). This is probably a petty point but it could lead to some interesting discussion. I found the poison ivy fight and the cloud burst fight kinda hard on the eyes. I should note that I have poor eyesight due to a nystagmus (hence why this may be petty), but Ivys vine attack blended in to the ground a lot for me, so that fight felt like a pain in the ass. For the cloud burst. The attacks when you’re taking it head on along with all the effects from the sky were total visual overload. For Arkham Knight i actually think a predator section is the perfect kind of boss fight. Maybe it’s my bias towards stealth games, but I feel that due to Jason getting training from someone like Batman having a tense stealth based encounter just makes the most sense. I don't mind the AK Two Face stealth boss for two reasons. #1: There is no logical reason that Harvey, Harley and Floyd in city and origins take several takedowns to finally take out; biologically, they are normal humans, there is no enhanced strength or durability, on a functional level, there is nothing seperating them from their thugs, so why are they so much more durable? Honestly that's something I take issue with with a lot of boss fights (unless the boss has a specific thing that explains why they can take more punishment, then I find it stupid) #2: It can be somewhat amusing if you initiate an Inverted Takedown, and then realise it's Harvey
