Hats off to Telltale for pulling off two totally different stories for a season finale of a game. While I prefer the vigilante story, this was amazing too! Great job!
For all those who say “Your choices don’t matter,” just look at this. ITS TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EPISODES. This is a HUGE step for TellTale. I REALLY hope they do something like this for The Wolf Among Us Season 2.

Sir Alexander it’s still much different than what they have been doing. The decisions you make before episode 4 will determine how you make that choice as well.
Aaron Page are you stupid it ended differently John can end being your friend in Vigilante ending and in this Joker will end up hating you but still loving you pay attention next time
The saddest thing is that even when John becomes a villain, he honestly seems a lot happier than he ever did trying to be a hero. Because atleast as a Villain he actually knows who he really is, and realizes that the only true relationship he can ever have with Bruce, is by being his “worst enemy”. When he says their relationship is “beautiful”, you really realize that even as a horrible Villain, Joker got exactly what he wanted…for him and Bruce to be together forever. And as we all know, Joker and Batman’s eternal feud will never end. It’s the only way John will ever get what he really wants and the only way he’ll ever be happy. In the Vigilante route it’s just so sad because he probably knows that deep down but still tries so hard to go down the route of good. Good job Telltale

Psychopathic behaviour involves manipulation, remorseless nature, etc. Everything Joker does and have. villain >> vigilante. The vigilante was good but this one felt better written and involved more heart ache in how it was presented compared to the vigilante one. We get more catwoman here, finding out tiffany killed riddler was written better, and jokers turning to a villain felt like an even better reason to justify Alfreds decision for leaving and it actually got under Bruce's skin.
Maestro2020 vigilante was far more emotional. John tried to be good but failed and was pretty much cry laughing. The final fight in Vigilante was better too. We also had more Batman. Vigilante path is better for me.
@@joshuaagee-bass4049 The fact that Joker felt betrayed, because he saw Bruce as a mentor was very emotional. The whole series did show that no matter how far the batman goes to save someone, they would be a lot worse than when he first found them.
Checkmate oh yeah that was emotional. But Vigilante John does everything he can to help Batman and be a hero. Yet he ultimately can’t. The fact that he doesn’t hate Bruce despite knowing Bruce was using him is sad as heck. Not to mention while fighting him it felt like you were beating down your own friend. The final question is also far more emotional.
I do agree that the villain one has better writing tho The emotional scenes are in both of them maybe alittle but more in the villain one but they are both amazing
Damn I let Alfred go in my playthrough also. It was pretty heart breaking and I understand why he left. Then I remembered that this is like the same scene from The Dark Knight Rises and I thought that was very cool.
I thought exactly the same thing. It makes the ending a bit more impactful and I have a feeling that he'll be back in a cool way for a possible third season.
This is interesting but it was actually crazier to see Joker as an Anti Heroic Mad Man in the vigilante route just seeing him try to be a hero but fail and become the villain he was always meant to be not only that I was trying to avoid as much death as possible sooooooo yeah I’m really happy I didn’t go this route and in the end I made Joker somewhat more redeemable I mean Villain Joker i will always love but a Joker with good qualities is actually more interesting
To be honest, I don't think Joker really became a villain in the vigilante play-through, he became more of a disillusioned anti-hero, considering that Bruce visited him at Arkham. His main frustration was Batman's no-killing code, which led him down the path he went and if anything, Joker became more similar to Thomas Wayne's Batman, where he was perfectly fine with killing criminals.
Fun fact: The dramatic opera music that plays when Joker and Harley fights Bruce and his friends, it’s the same opera music that plays in the theatre before Thomas and Martha gets killed. (In Batman Begins)
Huh, so even though Oswald was a criminal and lied his way inside the company, they still have a big portrait of him in the board room mimicking Queen Elizabeth.
I closed my eyes right before I picked Alfred to leave. I didnt want to see myself press the button. But it was for the best. Alfred is an old man who has been through too much. It's time to let him go.
ComiXProvider FTW_02 honestly I would have just quit being Batman... family is way more important than crime fighting and bats plus that's what the cops are for plus I'm rich I can finally get the life Alfred wanted me to have *Marry Selina and have a kid *Help Gotham in different ways *Live happily ever after It's the perfect option
King Folstag no Bruce is just as much Bruce Wayne as he is Batman........but he would choose to continue to crusade. He would lose his father figure, but it’s for all the fathers of other children.
Though I like this version because it introduces a new "insane" version of Joker, Getting to see him from the last episode bridge into this is stunning. The Vigilante version doesn't have the Joker we know. Yet the move is brave, I still loved it. The look is lovely in both "Same Stitch" episodes. The other version may be touching at the end, but nothing beats the Joker we know and love in this episode.
I think what really does unnerve me about this version of events is that throughout the main story and the Vigilante ending, John has always seemed hesitant and awkward, but in this he is 100% calm, calculating, confident, and in control.
Jakub Jakubiak Taking something from another and making it your own without the other's consent, yeah, it is stealing, not the bad kind of stealing but stealing nonetheless.
The entire board members of Wayne Enterprise and all the staff.........silenced in his Villain debut. Good thing I chose the Vigilante. The damage was minimal
lightsidemaster Yes He does what are you talking about ? are you saying that just because he’s not Kevin Conroy 🤦🏻♂️ i hate that kind of fake batman fans
@@lightsidemaster I'm sorry but this is by far the most comic accurate take on Bruce Wayne/Batman of all time. Even more so than the Arkham games, because even those had inaccuracies
@@goldengoose6950 I mean do you want something to be more accurate to the comics or something to be different but yet still feel similar to those old stories? It wasn't meant to be accurate it's basically your take on Batman, you making your choices to affect the story.
@@darkman4204 Which is amazing that they still managed to have the most accurate take on him ever. And yes I'd take comic accuracy over originality any day. Sometimes originality can really pay off well, like the Gotham TV show, but for the most part being accurate is just the better thing to do
My original save was the Vilgilante Save, But i replayed the game with the villian path and....I liked this version way more, The ending is just sooooooo hearthbreaking
I am that type of guy that sees people crying over a game and laugh at it, but I swear to god at the end with Bruce and joker I was feeling some emotion for once
I always feel some emotions while watching a movie/game/whatever but I never cried crying over it is like too much at least in my opinion after all it’s not real so why would I cry ? People should be stronger they shouldn’t cry over everything
The vigilante joker got me feeling different. Specially that ending where joker tells Bruce hes one hell of a crazy man to still consider him as a friend
@@Mohamad-m7md Maybe because they've created convincing characters that feel like they could be real people and so you care about what happens to them? Or maybe, just maybe the characters' stories have certain aspects that are universal and if we've shared the same experiences as the characters we see on screen then that causes certain buried emotions to come to the surface when we see someone who's gone through what we've gone through? People shouldn't cry over anything but a highly emotional and well done scene in a movie/video game isn't your typical "anything." Just a thought.
Right on,that's what I thought too! *high fives* Aaaaand that 'Death of the Family' memory was what ultimately caused me to having to take a break from the episode lol But this comment brought a smile to my face for sure, so thank you! :)
Joel Figueredo You realize that there’s a lot of batman fans who don’t read comics ? batman fans who watched all batman movies and cartoons ? They still count as real fans even without the comics
I let Alfred go, I could see why he would want to leave. He's an old man with anxiety and PTSD, experiences tremors and fainting spells, and lost an eye (in my playthrough) all because of Batman. He has to constantly watch behind Batman's back, analyzing all the data batman collects when he's out and he also has to treat Bruce when he's injured as well. Almost every night, he has to watch the only remaining person he's close to leave to "fight crime" and may never return, also he's Bruce's Butler, so he's kinda like a slave. All of this is torture to an old man like him, he should leave and live his own life. In fact, in one episode Alfred said that "he barely ever gets to see sunshine" as he's always in the batcave assisting batman. I feel sorry for Alfred, and I think he deserves to leave the shithole called "Gotham". (Honestly why do people even live there? The crime rate is insane!)
But don’t you understand that Alfred is a father figure to Bruce ? if you care about Bruce not losing his only family member you should quit being Batman
I quit being Batman because Gotham and Alfred needed Bruce Wayne also I thought it wouldn't matter because if there was a third game I could be batman again and still have Alfred 🤔
I would rather give up Alfred no offense to all you people who care about Alfred it feels like to me Alfred is always by himself worrying about Bruce when he's Batman fighting crime and other reason why I would leave Alfred is the city needs Batman
the story still isn't finished, there's some gaps that season 3 could close, what happened to freeze? what about the villains we defeated in season 1? and there's still some untouched batman villains: scarecrow, hush etc. There's also so many choices at the end of the episode and I don't think they would give you so many choices if the series ended. As for the give up batman/alfred choice, if gotham is in enough danger i'm sure bruce will break his promise.
I like how when the joker gasses everyone it switches to first person and has the crosshair indicating your supposed to do something. But there's nothing to do. Makes the player panic and feel helpless
I'm just wondering, how come Batman's capabilities are so limited in this season? Like, he gets beat up by random goons and he doesn't know how to dodge Bane's headbutt.
'I'm not like you. I'm not a killer" "I wasn't a killer either Bruce, *until i met you* " when I played though that, I was so amazed because it came to the realization that what john says is true. john was just the mentally insane guy back at the asylum. when he met Bruce, it was like he ACTUALLY had a friend someone he can rely on, and count on. when Bruce blames john, that was the point where he knew that he wanted to make Bruce see what he makes people. even look at Tiffany when she [SPOILERS] admits that she killed Riddler deceivers liars *KILLERS*
Usually I don't really like the animation of the characters in games, they seem very stiff and the art is boring sometimes. But this one, I REALLY LOVE IT! I love the art, I love the movements, I love the animations, details and more. Oh and especially the voice actors are GREAT too. Awesome work. Two thumbs up!!
Such a shame we will never see this universe ever again, I really loved both seasons, it was awesome to see a universe where Thomas Wayne was actually a criminal, and this joker is one of my favorites, I will miss Troy baker's Batman
@@joshuaagee-bass4049 I like this one more, in Vigilante path, you're beating the shit out of Joker. But in here, he got more powers to fight Bruce and that makes the fight more realistic and dramatic
@@Mr.AflatillahAt least he had a chance in the vigilante fight. He actually knew how to fight properly. But Batman/Bruce were injured in both fights so I’m sure if they were at their full capacity then the fight would have been much quicker. But this fight is better in the fact that there’s more emotion to it. The vigilante fight is better because we can see John completely crack and become the Joker. We witness his feelings of betrayal and enragement, and is so much crazier in that fight. The vigilante fight is definitely better because it’s actually Batman vs. Joker instead of Bruce, and it’s more action packed and longer. Although I see what you’re saying.
this is one of the most unique Batman/Joker relationships because they knew who they were before they became what they are and what they are without their true selves
I love your choices because selina says i trust you when you gave her the keys and i think the best romance is selina and bruce and also at the end when she says call me when we can do something a little less lethal i love that!
Rion Robinson For all we know, they coulda make a twist that Deadshot killed Riddler and made Tiffany take the wrap or he woulda killed the other fox members of the family, even worse than Riddler did Lucius
I love this Joker from Telltale. It's definitely the best Joker. He's so funny and his relationship with Bruce/Batman is something amazing. I like them more as friends than enemies but both paths are amazing. I love this game. Namaste💖💖❤
Batman Arkham Videos in agree you with that, although I like the vigilante version because is very good to see joker and batman are working together as partners, just like I watch batman the brave and the bold series when I was kid and teens ago,and as villain version it's really entertaining and interesting to watch, but the only interested is on two on two battle, between batman and catwoman vs the joker and harley quinn, the best heroes and villains couple in DC universe. You batman or whomever you are?keep doing a good work👍
The difference between the story where joker restrains himself and the one where he full on lets himself become what hes supposed to be is outstanding. It really hit once he stabbed that guy through the jaw up out the mouth.
When I first saw that guy with the beard and the Bowtie telling that joke and laughing hysterically I thought he was infected by some kind of joker toxin
Can't really decide which path I love most, the vigilante or the villain Joker. Vigilante path was so refreshing and new to the context, it explore the nature of Batman and the Joker in a completely different side but somehow similar to the classic one at the same time. Though, the villain path was too good to be ignored. Sure, it maybe was the very classic Joker vs Batman affair, but it really describe their relationship with a whole new level. Not to mention it was (at least imo) more dramatic and heart-wrenching than the other. Nevertheless, biggest kudos to Telltale fo marvelous endings! Both of them are satisfying to all Batman + Joker fans.
Edwin Lopez villain Joker was weak and too insecure and let Harley boss him around. He was a terrible representation of Joker. Vigilante Joker when he snapped he actually made Batman go unconscious and not from some cheap shot. Vigilante Joke is so much better.
i love how john still somewhat cares for bruce although you werent a good friend to him, he had so many chances to straight up kill him but decided not to.
This ending is probably the best ending to a game I’ve ever played ever, not because I actually think it’s better than any other ending, and not because I haven’t played many games with good endings (trust me, I have). but the reason why this will always be my favourite is because it was completely unexpected and it entirely changed how I looked at the rest of the telltale Batman games and even Batman as a character. Now that’s something rarely any other game has done for me
While as much as I hate to Joker in almost all the Universes this one is a, controversial for me, especially since you drove him to this state, he is what he is, because of you, it’s like Jim said “We create our own enemies.”
GamerCalledBen yeah, we know sooner or later that the Joker was going to be like this no matter what, in injustice Batman says that he always has the same evil in his eyes, even if he was good for awhile, Batman did change him and that’s why he’s like this.
This was way better than the vigilante sadly. Joker actually did have me laughing, especially during the card game when he just kept punching batman xD! I give it one dislocated thumb up.
Both were gerat But only problem with Villian path is how weak they made batman to force the situation of him getting captured the writers could have atleast had Joker set traps for him to capture batman instead of gettting beat up by 5 randoms thugs lol that part pissed me off

villain >> vigilante.
I do agree that the villain one has better writing tho
The emotional scenes are in both of them maybe alittle but more in the villain one but they are both amazing
David Gonzalez nah Vigilante final battle tops villain in terms of emotional level.
Damn I let Alfred go in my playthrough also. It was pretty heart breaking and I understand why he left. Then I remembered that this is like the same scene from The Dark Knight Rises and I thought that was very cool.
I thought exactly the same thing. It makes the ending a bit more impactful and I have a feeling that he'll be back in a cool way for a possible third season.
at 17:40 why did she kill that guy?
Batman Arkham Videos if season 3 happens they will do 2 different beginnings one for Alfred returning and one for Batman returning
American Boy because she’s a crazy sick lady and basically wanted no survivors
but she only killed that one guy why not kill the rest?
this version of joker is literally perfect
Ikr!
Still is.
Alex Kuziw Bruce Wayne was sent to Arkham Asylum by Two-Face after Bruce Wayne was drugged by Lady Arkham.
Alex Kuziw I actually agree with that
J Double C Thank you.
Edwin Lopez He means in one of the endings for this episode Bruce visits Joker in Arkham.
27:00 "Because I'm Batman"
Not only did him saying that make me think of the joke but it also gave me chills given the background music and his voice.
"You wanna know why?"
"Wh-"
"BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!"
I closed my eyes right before I picked Alfred to leave. I didnt want to see myself press the button. But it was for the best. Alfred is an old man who has been through too much. It's time to let him go.
ComiXProvider FTW_02 honestly I would have just quit being Batman... family is way more important than crime fighting and bats plus that's what the cops are for plus I'm rich I can finally get the life Alfred wanted me to have
*Marry Selina and have a kid
*Help Gotham in different ways
*Live happily ever after
It's the perfect option
Mate, Bruce is and will always be Batman. He's more Batman than Bruce. Family stays second.
King Folstag no Bruce is just as much Bruce Wayne as he is Batman........but he would choose to continue to crusade. He would lose his father figure, but it’s for all the fathers of other children.
And then some thug kills you and everyone you love. Such a perfect ending lmao.
Me too bro. I wanted to so badly pick give up batman, but bruce will always be batman, and i gave up alfred.
KingFunsized I love both types of Joker but this one felt the tiniest bit better just because the stakes felt higher
Landon Wells
Vigilante Joker from this game beats any other version in my opinion
Jack Coupland he was way too insecure and couldn’t fight. When Vigilante Joker snapped he showed what Joker truly is.
“I WILL DESTROY YOU!” God I love the voice acting. Telltale you really did a number with this one!!! Plus I love the amazing choices you made!
I think what really does unnerve me about this version of events is that throughout the main story and the Vigilante ending, John has always seemed hesitant and awkward, but in this he is 100% calm, calculating, confident, and in control.
The Joker who kills 30 people on a Tuesday night is this one
"I'm do it, bacause I'm Batman"
I Hear the voice of HISHE Batman immediately XD
Um no, HISHE got it from Batman comics. It's not a HISHE reference.
Destiny's Way Maybe, but HISHE made it their own thing :)
Jakub Jakubiak No they did not, stealing something doesn’t make it yours, bruh.
Yeah, and paroding something isn't stealing.
Sandeepan Das and some people in the city

unitedjt345 weird insult for a Batman video put ok
Right, because "minimal damage" is exactly what I want from a Joker story lol
Physically minimal
Mentally it hit me like a bus on rush hour

“I think they want some more” , “then let’s give it to em” season 1 reference 😍😍😍Same lines from the bar fight

I loved that part so fucking much. Sadly this Batman really doesn't live up to the name of Batman we know from the Arkham games

My original save was the Vilgilante Save, But i replayed the game with the villian path and....I liked this version way more, The ending is just sooooooo hearthbreaking
TK 570 [Gameplays] uh what?
Yes the Ending was much more Heartbreaking because they were best friends and now Enemies
Reverse Flash That's also how the Vigilante ending ended with as well. You threw him over the edge to become the Joker anyway at the end.
TK 570 [Gameplays] is there a way to do it without making an entirely new save though? I really want to play both as well.
RCBM Mines i just copied my original save, then repeat episode 4 and make john a villian, and then play episode 5.
Also, can we agree that Telltale did an awesome job with Harley? Actually making her intelligent-insane and not just an annoying sex icon
A Fetts agreed because Harley to me seems smarter than people think she is glad telltale made her intelligent instead of some annoying lady
Definetely agree. Her character is much deeper here
I am that type of guy that sees people crying over a game and laugh at it, but I swear to god at the end with Bruce and joker I was feeling some emotion for once
I always feel some emotions while watching a movie/game/whatever but I never cried crying over it is like too much at least in my opinion
after all it’s not real so why would I cry ?
Paul Mims
Fair enough
I thought that Joker will die here like he died in Batman Arkham City.
Omg! That dinner scene looked so much like Death in The Family!
majorgabe56 nice to see another true fan in the comment section
majorgabe56 thats exactly what I thought too haha
Right on,that's what I thought too! *high fives* Aaaaand that 'Death of the Family' memory was what ultimately caused me to having to take a break from the episode lol But this comment brought a smile to my face for sure, so thank you! :)
Joel Figueredo
You realize that there’s a lot of batman fans who don’t read comics ? batman fans who watched all batman movies and cartoons ? They still count as real fans even without the comics
Its death of the family
Many people died because of Batman.
@@emmanuelojurongbe758 yeah the city needs batman with all the super criminals running around so i say screw Alfred (jk I love Alfred)
Gotta give mad respect to Telltale. They made the last episode almost completely different depending on what happens to John.
I love it. He tries to be the Joker, but he keeps having these attacks of conscience. Keeps thinking twice, looking back.

Batb0y DCUOTM i didn't choose it tbh.
the story still isn't finished, there's some gaps that season 3 could close, what happened to freeze? what about the villains we defeated in season 1? and there's still some untouched batman villains: scarecrow, hush etc. There's also so many choices at the end of the episode and I don't think they would give you so many choices if the series ended.
As for the give up batman/alfred choice, if gotham is in enough danger i'm sure bruce will break his promise.
eiecctro Just Hope to See Ra's Al Ghul in Season 3
there hasn't been a single reference to him but it would be cool
27:03 was absolutely perfect
1:02:34 - When I played this chapter I seriously had to take a minute of to calm myself. That burn had me rolling on the floor. XD
I like how when the joker gasses everyone it switches to first person and has the crosshair indicating your supposed to do something. But there's nothing to do. Makes the player panic and feel helpless
When Joker walked in I was like “Oh, shiiiiit!”
The best version of this episode in my opinion
DPunkGameGuides same cuz Batman says I'm batman
I agree
DPunkGameGuides how do I get this version
Joe Cardenas Treat John like shit.
the Vigilante is all about friendship. You'll have a heartbreak if you support John all the way to this episode. That's why Vigilante is my favourite
I'm just wondering, how come Batman's capabilities are so limited in this season? Like, he gets beat up by random goons and he doesn't know how to dodge Bane's headbutt.
Michael Gabriel Cruz This is pretty early in his career as Batman, and they're probably taking a slightly more realistic approach
Michael DeLarge Batman isn't sloppy in h2h combat, his reflexes are supposed to be op because he's in peak condition.
Michael Gabriel Cruz

when I played though that, I was so amazed because it came to the realization that what john says is true. john was just the mentally insane guy back at the asylum. when he met Bruce, it was like he ACTUALLY had a friend someone he can rely on, and count on. when Bruce blames john, that was the point where he knew that he wanted to make Bruce see what he makes people. even look at Tiffany when she [SPOILERS] admits that she killed Riddler

The best soundtrack in the final battle.
Such a shame we will never see this universe ever again, I really loved both seasons, it was awesome to see a universe where Thomas Wayne was actually a criminal, and this joker is one of my favorites, I will miss Troy baker's Batman
Look up Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he gets to play as Batman one more time
We might, don't be pessimistic
We might now
To be fair, Troy does voice Batman outside of the telltale series which is arguably his best performance as the caped crusader
Bruce using his normal voice in the Batman costume is weird
1:16:22 best scene of all Batman TellTales games episodes. So powerful.
Brover Hood completely wrong the final fight in Vigilante Path is a thousand times better Joker could actually fight.

I love the scene of Bruce Wayne relentlessly roasting Joker at the dinner table while Joker just beats him up
Bruce roasted him so hard even Mr Freeze couldn't put those flames out
this is one of the most unique Batman/Joker relationships
because they knew who they were before they became what they are and what they are without their true selves

Vigilante. 8.5/10
Villain. 9.0/10
I agree with you. The Vigilante Joker was an interesting take, but the villain version feels more natural.

9/10 for the villain path
7/10 for vigilante
