    Great video man, I'm not even servicing the airbag module but installing something in the center console and wanted to see how to remove it. THANK YOU!!!

    Good video buddy. But one tip I would say here that you forgot is that, when putting the vehicle in drive to remove the center console, make sure your not in an up hill and always use the emergency brake so the vehicle won't move forward or back. Also if you want to move the shifter all you have to do is pull up with pressure and it would come out.

    Just take the WHOLE console out. MUCH easier than taking screws out, and trying to pull the sides out of the way. ALSO, he speeds up the process of taking out the 10mm bolts, because it sucks. You will pull out a few curse words and spend 30 mins once you have found the right depth socket and then trying to fit both your fat hands up in there to get those front nuts off. BUT, once you get those out, then you can almost taste success until you try to pull the module out of the car and then realize it won't clear the front studs because there is more plastic above it you have to force it past and the shifter cable will be in your way. Pull straight up on the passenger side of the module, twist it to remove it from the passenger stud, and then move to the driver's side, and pull the shifter cable hard and out of the way. This will enable you to finish pulling it up and out. Much easier to do all of this with the front half of the console totally removed. All in all this video helps to show you the location and general process, just wish for a heads up on the tedious baloney parts and how to overcome them easier.

    Do you have to get the code off the old srs module? Do you have to reprogram the new one that you put in with the code you get off the old module?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charles, If the car was in an accident, theres no need to buy an expensive replacement. I would recommend simply getting the original one reset. When you reset the original module to the car there is no need for additional programming like you would need to do with a brand new one.
      We can reset the module for you.

    I am getting a B1388 code on my 2013 sonata, any idea what could be causing that? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

      Looks like it could be the seat position sensor under the seat. Perhaps the wire gor pinches or cut?

    I dont have a code reader. So can I still change the srs module with out programming it. After I change my steering coupler very carefully an hooked everything up a day later my airbag light came on the dashboard. But the passenger side is ok.

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charles, most likely its just soft code and has something to do with the area that was being worked on. Could be a loose connection or something telling the srs system that something is not connected properly in that area. Best way is find someone with code reader that plugs right into the OBD port and pulls the code. Once you have the code (or codes), you can reply right on here, and we should be able give you a more accurate direction.One thing is for sure, you don't need to get the module reset by us. Module (srs control unit) isn't the issue

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charlessmith1170 Soft codes are codes that can be cleared from just fixing the problem and clearing on the scanner tool (if need be) Hard codes are codes that will not go away from being cleared on a scan tool. Those are codes from an accident that do not go away and people use our reset service to clear those. Yes AutoZone should have the scan tool to pull codes. Make sure they have one can read the airbag system. Have had a few customers tell me some AutoZone employees end up reading the engine codes or another system.

    • @charlessmith1170
      @charlessmith1170 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay thank you. The vehicle has not been in the accident so I'll go ahead and get it scanned and see what kind of code comes up and I'm also double check when I replace the steering coupling to make sure everything is connected

    Hi I have 2011 Hyundai sonata was hit on right front deployed passenger side windows and passenger seat air bag. seat belt needs to come to you and the airbag control module. questions is after you reset them do I have to replace the seat air bag and the side window air bags or can I run with out them? the seat blew up from that going off. barely had front fender damage.

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If airbags are not replaced then the SRS airbag light will continue to stay on because airbags have not been replaced yet.
      At your own risk:
      In some places airbags are not required by government. If you wish to bypass the airbags you can do it at your own risk by installing a resistor at the airbag plug connector. The resistor should be between 2 - 3 OHMS.
      Let me know if you have any questions!

    why did my air bag warning light come on if I wasn't even in a accident?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your light just came on one day without accident, it is similar to why check engine light coming on. Meaning something is wrong with SRS airbag system. Like bad wiring connection or some component has gone bad. Check out more info here:
