    I have a 2017 Honda Lx 4dr civic the steering wheel airbag is out, 2 questions

    Remove module screws, then disconnect the module from passenger side. You will likely break one of the clips for centre console but it'll still line up decent and not rattle

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheWiseGuy, theres a few different ways it can be done safely. Of course, we have to recommend using a professional or see manual for official instructions. Usually the airbags, seatbelts and any other part of the airbag system that has gone bad is to be replaced first. Then the final step is to correctly install the new or reset airbag control module.

    Right side collision. Honda Civic 2015 Passenger side seat and curtain airbags deployed, what do I need?

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeremih C,
      Make sure to replace any airbags that deployed. On the Civic 2015, the seat belt pretensioners and buckles deploy as well. You can replace those or have them professionally rebuilt here with us.
      The srs unit / airbag module needs to be replaced or reset. We can reset it for you as well.
      It only takes 24 hours to turn your order around once we receive it.
      You can start your order here:

      MyAirbags seatbelts did not deploy and are not locked

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeremih, We get seatbelts here that are deployed but not in a locked state. Its not uncommon. You can test the belt using a ohm meter. We have a video on that. Or you will eventually get codes when you scan the airbag system. If the belts are deployed, you will gets codes telling you so.
      If your belts are good, then that just leaves the srs unit module and the airbags.
      Heres the ohm meter video should you want to test the belts. Good belts will read around 2.0 OHMS: th-cam.com/video/65OKdu5kkaA/w-d-xo.html

    • @MyAirbags
      @MyAirbags  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are experiencing issues with recalibrating the passenger seat after an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) module reset, and attempts with a diagnostic scanners, and even at the dealership have failed, it suggests a more complex issue.
      Wiring and Connections
      Seat Sensors
      The passenger seat has sensors that detect occupancy and seatbelt status. If these sensors are malfunctioning, recalibration might fail. They might need cleaning, repositioning, or replacement.
      Review Service Bulletins
      Check if there are any technical service bulletins (TSBs) issued by Honda for your vehicle model related to the SRS system. TSBs provide guidance on known issues and their solutions.

    dude really don't disconnect the battery from the pos. terminal 1st...always remove the neg. cable 1st and install last, this will have much less arching at the terminal ends..experiment by touching the terminal creating a spark to jump and look at the difference..u will see less arching using the neg. cable instead of the pos. end...this gives u less of a chance to pop a fuse or burn something in the any modules..

      All, this is the most important comment right here by mechanic808. To add to his remarks, another reason to remove the ground/negative terminal first is in case you accidentally make contact with the vehicle chassis while removing the terminal. If you remove the negative / ground first, no problem. If you make contact with metal parts of the vehicle while removing the positive lead (and the ground is still connected)....you will have sparks at a minimum. Worst case is you damage yourself or your vehicle. *Always* remove the black ground wire first.

    2016 Civic - Airbag System (SRS) Problem message on dash. Dealer checked SRS unit and determined it was defective and wants $904 to replace. Car has 32,000 miles (warranty is expired; car is 4 years old) are these units problematic? It should have lasted longer, car has never been in any accidents. If I send you my unit you can rebuild and I don’t have to go to dealer for reset?

      The reset service is for after accident cars only. If the module just went bad on its own then a replacement is recommended. We do carry an inventory of used, reset modules in stock. On your original srs unit, there will be a part / model number that will begin with "77960-" You can use that number to find the correct match/replacement. When you have your part number, you can access our inventory here: www.myairbags.com/product-category/parts-in-stock-ready-to-ship/
