I’ve been playing for 40+ yrs ( and am still not all that good) and I’m really glad I found you! Anyone just learning needs to listen and watch this channel. I loved addressing the fear of the F, especially on acoustic and the humor tossed in… ”Handy dot on the 5th fret” etc. really happy to get these classics I can drop at any get together and it’s instant sing along. Love it! Thank you!
I am a guitar teacher aged ... well ... very old. Plus been teaching for over 45 years, still teaching. This guy is magic. Listen, watch and learn. Superb!
I agree! Excellent approach, resources and delivery. I’m learning new songs regularly from Rob’s channel here. His talented son might give him some credit too!😊
When I was in junior school, about 8 or 9 years old, in 1967, the teachers thought it might be nice to put the radio on in the school canteen during dinner time. This song came on and all the kids went mad dancing around, climbing on chairs and tables, and screaming. It was amazing. Needless to say, they never put the radio on again. I have always loved this song.
Thanks again for another great lesson rob, I'm a perpetual novice guitarist of 75years of age, your style of teaching has inspired me to have another go at trying to improve my guitar playing from a different perspective. Love the choice of songs, as well as you'r sense of humour thanks again Rob, looking forward the next one!.
Just started as a beginner at 72! Looked at a lot of videos and I just love your approach. Technique and humor is just what I need. Also, love the ‘old’ stuff we grew up with. Keep it up! Nashville, here.
I’m 65 and started lessons last year. This is my last day in Nashville before returning to the UK after having been at the CMA Fest. Love this fella having found him by accident. Age is but a number. Good luck in your endeavours.
This Wednesday thing sounds good, not just for beginners, because its always good to have some of these under your belt, for that 'sing-a-long/camp fire' type situation. Thanks Rob.
Just discovered your channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for keeping it free so people can learn. Needless to say I subscribed. Love what you do 🎸
Thank you I never thought to learn and add to my playlist. I loved watching the monkeys. I like your style and helping out US oldheads with the chords charts. Reminiscing about how I would buy a songbooks before tab that had chord stamps that were at times accurate
song was written by Neil Diamond for the monkeys Also love to love and black and blue and 2 others. im a believer was the big hit the producers who put the TV series together asked some of the best song writers to help out Neil Diamond agreed .
Thank you thank you thank you, I was mucking about played the big G then moved down to a Cadd9 then moved the fingers down to what I now know as F6, it sounded good but I had no idea what chord it was but now I know
Nice video!! But the song was written by Neil Diamond, -- he of the dreadful "Shilo When We Were Young," but also he of the great "Draggin' the Line." This song was written for the Monkees and they actually performed it quite well, I'm told.
Truly, truly fantastic, entertaining, and delightful! Just discovered you, sir, and couldn't subscribe fast enough. Thanks for a wonderful tute-- I'm gonna hafta watch it a few dozen times, but I'm looking forward to it, ditto all your other lessons. Cheers, and thanks a million!! 👍👏💪🙏😊
This is definitely a stand out song from my childhood in the aherm..... 60's! And the woman I love likes it too. I'm going to learn it and sing it to her now 😊. I don't look forward to those barred F chords either so I'll play it the way you recommend. Thank you, subscribed! What is the gold disc on the wall behind you?
Good evening Rob..interesting lessons…I’m super green as far as playing guitar and I hope you dont mind my few questions..first, do you suggest I play your lessons starting from the first and gradually moving on..and secondly on your tutorial of I’m a believer, on the second page do you strum 1-2-3-4 for g than d…etc…txs for your advices
Dear Rob, please, please, please, please, please do "Thankyou for talking" by Hall and Oates from their 72 album "whole Oates". A really lovely mellow finger picking tune. I think you'll love it.
Amazing video! Love this song. I would like to request (if you`ve already did I`ll search your channel) A little bit me A little bit you, and Daydream believer. Congrats again on the great video. Regards from Brazil.
Hey :) As a classical guitar player and electric blues player I find a hard time to adjust my right hand for acoustic fingerstyle blues, resting right hand on the bridge. Any tips?
@@fennahrob6934 Sure I get it... I've been playing for 52 yrs. They didn't have this when I learned to play. A child can do this now. That's a good thing.

Can't wait to learn this Rob. Takes me back as a kid in the 80's watching the TV show. Good times.
Wonderfully taught lesson, Rob. You have great talent not only as a musician but as a teacher of music.
Bravo! 👏 and thank you!

Absolutely brilliant 🍀
Played and sang this song in the late 90's.
Nice video!! But the song was written by Neil Diamond, -- he of the dreadful "Shilo When We Were Young," but also he of the great "Draggin' the Line." This song was written for the Monkees and they actually performed it quite well, I'm told.
Hi Rob, anorher wonderful lesson. I was listening to junction 39 today, could you do a version of your blurred white lines for guitar?
Great job explaining. Your a good teacher
Another great lesson! Thank you. I hope you do decide to do the 10cc song. It's one of my absolute favorites!
Working on it now. 👍🏻

Too much fun!! Thank you!
Come on! I love Monkees, but credit where it is due: Neil Diamond wrote this song! 😊
And played sparingly but never credited
Great job
I was attentive through out
Very amusing - written I believe (pun intended) by Neil Diamond.
Thanks, Rob. May have a stab at this now that I have Big Yellow Taxi under my guitar strap! 😂
Dear Rob, please, please, please, please, please do "Thankyou for talking" by Hall and Oates from their 72 album "whole Oates". A really lovely mellow finger picking tune. I think you'll love it.
It certainly wasn't Mike Nesbitts' favourite song, but as always a well put together fun little lesson 👍👍👍

So cool , like it 😎👍🏻
Hey nice sounding guitar. What make and model is it?
Thanks! Have a cuppa
This is great, thanks.

Brilliant
That song was written by Neil Diamond
Thank you.
Congrats....you managed to turn a 60 sec lesson into a 20 min video. But it's cool...thanks.
If you wanna folk to be able to play all the parts you gotta take a little time to explain. It’s not just about bashing away at the chords. ✌️
@@fennahrob6934 Sure I get it... I've been playing for 52 yrs. They didn't have this when I learned to play. A child can do this now. That's a good thing.

Thanks chap. Helped me get out my key of C rut
Sub'd for more.
Tanks!!❤
Thanks
Good channel and tips. You kinda look like Eric Clapton's brother. 🤣
top man
Of course that opening riff was played on a keyboard on the track…..but handy to have it for guitar!
About giving credit to the person who actually wrote it, Neil Diamond
You do it the other way and you would get knackered
Then I saw her face
Then-I-saw-her-beaver !
Is this Eric Claptons younger brother? Good lesson.
Neil Diamond not the monkies
👌🙈🙉🙊😂😉
