I'm 73 with a bad left thumb, Fen is teaching me things I thought I could never do. I started during COVID can now do many Cowboy and Barre Chords, I never thought I would strum While My Guitar Gently Weeps with electric and or acoustic. Thanks Dude, another song by "The Great George"
Im in my 50s and tried playing guitar 10 yrs ago but give up, but after seeing you and your idiot proof way of learning im gunna get the guitar out again, wat a lovely and helpfull guy you are

@@markmcevoy6245 Most of his songs are not easy try Albatross I found my Strat has a 12 fret that is a tuff slide, went back to my IYV Tele much better. Another example of best guitar is not most expensive Fender Strat crowning needed on Fender for slides above at 12, not happy.
I hope a "THANK YOU" from an old, poor man is reward enough for you. You have given me something to do with my empty days and the promise of joy at the end of my learning journey.
Greetings from Pennsylvania. It's such a great feeling when you learn a few riffs from a song, then a few more, add in a chorus and maybe a bridge and pretty soon your playing the whole song. Then you throw in the lyrics and you realize you've got it all. With a great song like this, you don't even realize how much you're practicing because you're having so much fun. That's the great feeling I'm talking about. That's the felling you give probably thousands of people. Somehow thank you doesn't seem like enough. I really think if you are learning a lot of songs you really should consider donating. I know I will be. Anyway, just want you to know how really appreciated you are. Such an awesome song. Thanks again. Randy
I had that lovely tune as my morning alarm call for many a year ( trying to start the dreary working day on a positive note ! ) have played the D bit for years but never ventured any further as it looked too much. Thanks for all your work laying this out and everything else I've used Rob, it's definitely manageable and as you say it's a project to work on Cheers m8
You'll get it if you keep at it, I never thought I would. But I'm getting there. And Robs new video has just shown me several bits I'm getting wrong,.... Now I'll be up for hours... Living it Outstanding help Rob, thank you 🎉
Yeah -- that's definitely the sticking point for me, too. So hard to hit just that *one* string you need to hit whilst also strumming the rest of the chord. Crazy difficult, that! I think if I can ever master this, I can finally graduate from "beginner" to "intermediate."
Rob! Drink all the coffee you like; you explain everything perfectly! It’s because you really want us to actually LEARN your lessons. Cannot thank you enough for ALL your labor in putting all this together. Your acoustic is sparkling bright and clear even on my phone! Sounds excellent. I can’t believe that yesterday I decided I wanted to learn this song, and today here you are with this lesson. Amazing! Thank you so much, again.
@@jeffreyvanhorn1996 Nice comments to the Finn Man, I’m with you. He appears to get joy from knowing we can do these songs. Many TH-cam “teachers” just showoff and then blowoff the frustrated old guys, we are all Bozos on the guitar buss regardless of age.
Hi Rob 😀 loving your TH-cam please don’t stop !! I’m a mature student so totally enjoying your choice of music for your lessons. Love your personal music too 👏 Looking forward to more TH-cam lessons 💓 Regards Jackie .. in Australia originally UK
Even though even your idiot proof method won’t work with me now 😅 as I am below idiot level, thank you 🙏🏻 very much and I will keep trying until I make it. This is a beautiful song. Plus your accent sound like Mr Harrison too 😂😂❤😂
I guess I've been following you for awhile now, because this is the 3rd or 4th video of yours that I've come across recently where I've said to myself, "I thought he already did this song." 😂 I love the newly re-done videos, because you always go into more depth than you did originally -- so it's totally worth it to watch the new videos. This song is still a bit beyond my abilities, but I think I'm much closer now -- thanks to this lesson. This is one of my favorite songs ever -- I really need to sit down and work on it more.
Yep. I recorded it 3 or 4 years ago. Lots more subscribers since then who’ve missed it. Better quality this time around too and it’s all in the one lesson, not 3 parts as it was last time.
Rob, you say this one is easy. well I'm still learning some of your earlier stuff, but I can see improvement in playing and that is all thanks to you, who knows this time next year ????
Nice one Rob. I've tried this song before and struggled. I'll definitely give it another go. Basic Chords aren't too much of a problem for me now but my picking needs work. I know you did a bit about picking several months ago, and i need to go back to that and get it down. Thanks for your easy teaching style , energy and enthusiasm. Top job
Brilliant thanks Rob,i did try it when you did the lesson way back and couldn't get it. This time i am mastering it and just need to put it all together, i must be improving, always look forward to your lessons. Cant believe i can actually play the guitar, always amazes me ,Cheers
You're such a pick tease!! Yes, I can play those chords.... but surely, not like that!!! Love that song. (definitely much more practice in my future...)
How long should this take to learn for a beginner please? I have downloaded your idiot proof instructions and I thank you for this but I seem to be trying to learn this but don't seem to be getting anywhere but must admit I've only been practicing it for a few days. I'm just thinking of how long it should take for me to know if I am getting anywhere! I am 70 years old, been "trying" to play guitar for about a year and have only just learned the rain song by Led Zepellin. This will hopefully be my second song
Thanks, you’re the best. I suggest you don’t try the song when you’re sailing on Jack Daniels. My wife would kill me if she knew, but I’m in the bedroom with the door closed.
Brilliant...one of the greatest songs by the greatest band

Keep pursuing this kind of thing, I say... so enriching for a human being! This song is not simple, but approachable... God bless ya!!!

Thanks Rob a fantastic lesson. Will be learning this while on holiday next week.

Non player here but you play that lovely tune so beautifully ❤
The guys did not read music, yet came up with these lovely, intricate melodies. From the minds of musical geniuses. Thanks for sharing!
Music comes from within. 👍🏻
Great lesson as always Rob. The chords are straight forward but I struggle with picking out the melody notes of the chord while strumming.

Norwegian Wood and Neil Youngs Needle and the Damage Done are examples of melody notes and strumming which I'm still working on.

Please Rob, keep singing it in the original key, I was impressed by your vocals in the higher register, thanks for your guitar wisdom
Thanks!
Thanks, Rob, I’ve been waiting for someone to teach the intro properly!
Fantastic lesson. Been wanting to learn this song for some time but struggled using tabs.

Yet another fantastic lesson Rob, cant wait to get cracking on this one.
You're such a pick tease!!

Can you do a vid on flying fingers when doing spider exercises,I'm struggling bending the tips of my fingers
Perfect!
LOVELY
you are the man.
Great tutorial!
Nice
Again well layed out rob
Rob....Could you PLEEEEZE do a lesson on the Sound of Silence🙏
Yes, I’ll do it. 👍🏻
Hi it is a beautiful tune but I can’t play at the moment as I’ve dislocated my thumb.

Learn it page at a time then joint the bits together. Keep watching the vid as you’re learning each part. You’ll do it. 👍🏻
I'm still learning this but I have one question please🙏. Are you using an amp as my guitar doesn't sound as bright as yours🤷♂️
Absolutely brilliant but I’m still working on Landslide 😂
Thanks, you’re the best. I suggest you don’t try the song when you’re sailing on Jack Daniels. My wife would kill me if she knew, but I’m in the bedroom with the door closed.
Thanks ,Rob . Any chance of something by , Gordon Lightfoot ?
Just how many chorus and verses do I have to play as I am totally lost🤷♂️. Beginner and not a youngster😪
Have a look at the layout and then play along with the record. (You can slow it down) 👍🏻
You’re just showing off now 😆
😂😂
Rob how are you did you ever do In my life??
Hi James. Yes, I did In My Life’ a few months ago. 👍🏻
@@fennahrob6934 All the best from dreich Scotland
