Younghead you really still don’t understand how much a better athlete MJ is from dexterity to endurance and he had no weaknesses… he shot over 50% from the midrange through 1993 and when it counted…he shot 39% from 3 in the finals in his first 3 finals. He’d be the only player to ever win MVP and DPOY in the same season several times

  • @levpoplow7354

They all say that MJ would average 40 - 45 because he's the best who ever played. No offense to Lebron but there was only one Jordan and he's hands-down better than Lebron. There's no comparison.

Does he have a wide arsenal?
Best mid-range game with an unguardable fade-away.
Best post-up game despite being a guard.
Fastest quick-step and can stop on a dime to take-off for a shot.
Literally floats in the air with a 48-inch vertical and waits for defenders to start falling down before taking the shot.
Best lay-up package that can draw fouls AND 1.
Dunks on 7-foot centers and DPOYs to prove a point.
Can shoot 3s (not his specialty btw) and hit 6 in a row in the first half of a game IN THE FINALS.
50% chance of hitting the clutch shots to win or tie the game IN HIS WHOLE CAREER.
Has great ball handles and fakes defenders with the slightest of twitches.
Underrated passing ability that got him 10 triple-doubles in 11 games as a point guard.
And this is just his offense.

    • @hud1231

His defense isn't about bodying players like Bill Laimbeer.
His steals come from passing lanes most of the time.
His blocks come from his timing and jumping ability that doesn't even touch the shooter.
Maybe he'll be less effective due to the fouls, but only by a very small margin.
Maybe less steals from tipping the ball, maybe less blocks with contact.
    But still a monstrous defender.

    • @BT405
      @BT405 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Also if reach-in fouls are called more now, he probably wouldn't gamble for steals as much as he did and honestly be a better pure man defender than he already was. He may average less steals but he probably wouldn't think to jump the gun on as many defensive possessions as he did back then.

Jordan at his second time in Chicago was all about midrange shooting, because the defense would not allow him to drive to the rim so often. He would put the 3-pointer in his arsenal, like he did in the later stages of his career, and he would adaped his defense so that he would still be one of the best stealers in the league. So yeah, he would get to 45-50. I've seen him play, no question about it. If you think that Mike wasn't skilled, you don't know what you are talking about. That dude had no weakness in his game.

    He would mainly just drive?
    Maybe in his younger years.
Maybe to get more contact and put the opposing players in foul trouble.
He does have a very accurate free throw that he can do with his eyes closed that LeBron tried to mimic but hilariously fail at.
But his most iconic and most unguardable way of scoring isn't his dunks.
It's his fade-away, which he used more times than he did dunks, lay-ups and put-backs.
That's another difference between LeBron and Jordan.
LeBron makes most of his shots within 3 ft while Jordan makes his shots mostly in midrange.

86/87 season (his 3rd year in the NBA) MJ averaged 37.1 PPG, 5.2 TRB, 4.6 AST, 2.9 STL & 1.5 BLK in which he played all 82 games averaging 40 mins per game. Of those 82 games he played, in just 15 of them did he fail to score more than 30+pts and of those 15 games only 3 of them did he fail to score less than 20+pts and all of that was done whilst attempting just 0.8 3pt shots per game off of 48.2% shooting from the field. In 37 of those 82 games he scored 40+pts and of those 37 games he scored 50+pts. in 8 of them.
With the reliance on 3pt shooting in todays game you can be damn sure MJ would have worked on improving his 3pt shooting to where he would have been one of the better 3pt shooters in the game simply due to his insane competitiveness....lets not forget that when that particular part of his game was challenged leading into the 92 NBA Finals, his response was to sink 6 3pt shots in one half of game 1 (a then NBA record).
With todays severe lack of any kind of defense being played (let alone the physical defense MJ was facing whilst doing all that scoring during his time) he would literally run riot from mid range and his aerial ability would be unchecked driving to the basket, add in the increase in FT he would get because of the soft foul rules and his improved 3pt shooting and he would average mid to high 40s or maybe more if challenged.
Don't forget how many truly bad teams there are in the NBA today tanking games left and right and with MJ there would be no load managing games either with him having played less than 78 games in his 15 year career only 3 times, 2 of which were due to injury and the other time was him returning right towards the end of the season from retirement.

Btw, his shooting percentage would also go up because lack of hand checks & overall defense. Mid range & 3pt shooting

I know it's hard for this young man to accept that the world didn't begin when he was born. But, if your being honest, Michael had no weaknesses. Just because James is bigger and possibly stronger doesn't make him a better player pound for pound. More consistent offensively and defensively.

Like i get it, when you grew up watching Lebron you would never believe someone is better but there was and it was MJ if this youtuber would have actually watched MJ he'd know why people are all saying he would average what he would want to average and play defense the same way. Highlights alone show how clean defensively he is in the passing lane, off open breaks, defensive switching and even tailing the offense. Sometimes there's just no convincing someone no matter how much proof is put in front of them.

  • @StylesD83
    @StylesD83 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you factor in all the rule changes such as the shot clock going to 14 secs after, the ball hits the rim, no more zone defense, or hand checking, loose rules as to what is considered travelling/carrying, etc, it would be a faster paced, game with more possessions. Jordan averaged 30+ points when the NBA had some of the best centers and defensive, anchors of that generation if, not of all time. Back then, Defensive player were respected and feared. Right before the game aired, the network would announce the best offensive and defensive players from both teams as a way to get you pumped for a war on both sides of the ball. In today's NBA, it's all about scoring. Defense is rarely, brought up and there are less defensive, monsters playing today. It makes total sense as to why they believe MJ would average 40-50 pts in today's game. None of the players will outwork MJ's competitive nature. They will join super teams as a means to compensate what they lack instead, of improving as a team and individually. Kobe mentioned how soft the practices were across the league before he passed. MJ was a different kind of animal that would outwork, out think, outplay, and would exploit any weakness he can find.

    1. Imagine the sheer number of "And 1's" MJ would have attacking the basket in his prime, COMBINED with a newly developed three-ball to adapt to modern b-ball.
    2. Fouls like the one Xavier McDaniel put on him in the 1992 ECF would be called as flagrant, and he FINISHED THAT PLAY!
    3. In order for MJ's defensive game to diminish in today's game, his hands would literally have to shrink because that was the main reason he was getting steals.
    4. Kobe wouldn't have the same game if they were around the same age, because he adopted a lot of his game into his own by watching his game tapes.
    5. I would most certainly trust the viewpoints of established retired veterans over yours, no disrespect...

LOOK YOUNG BROTHER: These are not some people off of the streets, these are NBA LEGENDS. They either played WITH him or AGAINST him. They would know better than anybody. You are NOT the expert on this. If you want to know about a particular athlete, ask the people that were there. Even as a spectator raised in Chicago, I got to see him play. There is no question. Who is going to stop him? And nowadays you cannot get physical with him? He would always be at the free throw line and he would add a few more threes.
Yes, you do sound like a hater.
That is because they are saying what you do not want to hear. You want confirmation bias. You are making assumptions and forming conclusions and you were not even around to see him with your own eyes. Videos cannot even compare.

MJ's steals and blocks mostly were CLEAN. Check them. So of course he would have calls going against them in this era, but mostly he would get the benefit of the doubt. While on the other hand his OFFENCE would go off significantly! More free throws/dunks/ lay ups and a he would have a BETTER SHOOTING PERCENTAGE in his mid range post ups because of no handchecking.. ALL that would equate to A LOT MORE POINTS because MJ has always been the hart of the offence. Him going from 37 to 50 points is just 6 times more being fouled for free throws. Don't you see that happening? Because if you don't foul him, he goes to the basket. And because he was a 83 to 88% free throw taker, think of the points alone he would make there.. So about 45 to 50 for sure he would average

Jordan averaged 40 point for a entire playoff series 6 different times. In this era he going to the line 20-25 times a night, 5 or 6 3 pointer a night and be all team defence. And you need to watch Jordan's defensive highlights, he owned the passing lanes and had the quickest hands.

Jordan had his Wizards team in the playoff mix and the third best defense in the league at the All-Star Break when he was 39. Kobe was the only other guy averaging 25, 5, and 5.
In an NBA with Iverson, Carter, Duncan, Pierce, McGrady, Dirk.
Then he got hurt and the team collapsed. Oh, and it was an 18 win team the year before that.

M J in his prime in todays game with the rule. He would average anywhere from 50 to 60 points. M J can shoot that 3 point at any given time. With his quickness he will dominate the free throw to many times.

  • @michaelwhite8119
    @michaelwhite8119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think one thing younger guys miss is that players in the 80’s and early 90’s didn’t grow up shooting 500 threes a day in practice, since JR High. You refine a craft by repetition. If we are going to criticize Jordan for being a 33% three point shooter in an era in which he never practiced the shot until he was a pro…..then we should discuss Lebron’s 35%. I would hope practicing a shot that is pretty much dominant in the modern game would warrant better results than 2%. Right?
