Sorry, as much fun as I have watching LeBron…he doesn’t come close to Larry. Also, when you say LeBron is a better passer than Larry, I think you are missing a vital part of the equation. Larry’s passes had better results. LeBron’s passes are often questionable…as in why did he choose to pass the ball at THAT moment to THAT guy? Be honest…sometimes it’s like his passes don’t make sense. I have never been able to lay that criticism on Larry. He passes the ball, sometimes I can’t believe he found that sliver of space between 3 defenders to hit McHale…and it always makes sense. Also due to his ability to pass the ball in such a way, in the end that made his fakes so much more effective. Every player knew he could shoot the ball or pass it usually to devastating effect, so it made his fakes more effective. Larry has a bigger skillset than LeBron in my opinion. Watch some full game replays…you will start seeing the effect he has on games even when he doesn’t have the ball. There are games where he scores less than 30 points, yet it’s clear he’s the biggest problem for the other team on the court of all the players.

Larry said that he actually quit at Indiana University mostly because of financial reasons. He didn't have the resources or clothing, as well as feeling like a fish out of water. I believe they didn't have the three point shot until Bird entered the league. And he adapted to it very well, especially since many coaches, including Bill Fitch, didn't encourage its use. If it had been around during his high school and college time period, I think he would really have done even better with it.

I would take Bird over LeBron any day. LeBron is great but there is nobody that was as smart as Bird on the court. Bird was a way better passer than LeBron. You have to watch Bird play back in the day to understand how good Bird was. I’m 60 and Bird was winning Championships when I was 19. Bird was an all around guy on the court like MJ.

Larry Bird was unstoppable when he was in his prime. Larry was the smartest and best clutch player who ever played.

Celtics had a phenomenal team back in the 80’s and Jordon was right. 1 guy couldn’t beat the Celtics. Bird was the most dangerous Basketball player I’ve seen. He beat you with his brain. Michael was the best who ever played the game and when he got great key players, he was unstoppable.. Thomas is just sore that Jordon beat them😂

Larry would be a human triple double today because he was a tremendous rebounder even with all the trees he played against in the day. Honestly, people don't fight for rebounds anymore. And his passing was some of the best in history, especially getting out on the break. I believe he would average a triple double and about 35 points a game. Remember, the league did not play zone defense in his day, so not much switching. Can you imagine all the switching to little guys he'd do. Doncic and Joker just are way slower than Larry in his prime. He made three all defensive teams too.
