Front row- nosebleed, small theater - huge arena. Doesn't matter. I've seen hundreds of concerts and without a doubt, Queensryche stands along side Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Scorpions, and Rush as the best bands the world will ever see. I'm glad I was here for it all. It's been a hell of a ride!!

I hope you have seen them live...sounds so good and Geoff just brings you in. One of the best live concert bands I have seen and I've seen a lot! Such a shame they split up.💔 (worked in the music industry since the 80s)
@@suziewong2181 Saw them open up for Metallica in 1988 or 1989 in West Palm Beach, Florida. They blew me away. And your right…shame they split and was tough when Chris DeGarmo left.
queensryche has a very powerful and empowering vibe and with a singer like geoff tate his range and the degarmo brothers holy fire of heavy metal masterpieces
For sure. I've seen them live since '84, but he and the band really hit their peak on the Building Empires tour in my opinion. He really made you believe the Mindcrime story. I remember the audience was hanging on every note at that show. The band was just awesome. Promised Land was also great.
This recording is absolutely amazing!!! Sound quality blew me away. This is Queensryche at their best. Those were the days for sure. Geoff Tate sounds fantastic, the guitars just wale away. I've seen them 5 times in concert over the years and this show rocked my socks off. Enjoy!!!
Wait - Now Yall now that this wasnt really even the original Q. by any means save for Geoff it was Geoff Tate's QUEENSRYCHE that he later had to change to Operation Mindcrime
Nope. Wrong. Eddie Jackson is on Bass, Michael Whilton on Guitar, Scott Rockenfield on drums, Its just not DeGarmo on other guitar. I should know the exact year, but this is definitely years before the split. Early 2000's. Two songs off Q2K. And they are sounding amazing!!
Not sure why Damien thinks this(old post, maybe he realized his mistake) This IS the original line up except for Chris DeGarmo. He was originally replaced by Kelly (Producer/Guitarist) whom they had worked with before. Cant really agree with Rod that this was their best, its damn close though. The original Operation Livecrime recording is just insane!
BEEN A QR FAN SINCE HIGH SCHOOL 1986, I CAN TELL THAT GEOFF'S VOICE WAS BEING SCALED BACK COMPARED TO THE BEGINNING, BUT I MUST SAY THERE IS NOT A MORE COMPLETE MIX OF GUITAR CHORDS AND VOCAL MIX THAT TOUCHES MY SOUL..WE ALL GET OLD AND THE VOCAL STYLE OF THIS GREAT SINGER COULD NOT LAST FOREVER.THE MEMORIES I HAVE ARE CHERISHED AND I WANNA THANK YOU GEOFF, MIKEY WILTON, SCOTT,EDDIE AND KELLY AND ALL THE HARD WORKERS , FOR ALL THE YEARS OF PURE ROCK N ROLL YOU HAVE GIVEN TO US AND ME....BRIAN DULIN USA
What Why I've always wondered why is that such a big deal ? its so often easier to read and the writer might then not have to concern with proper grammar lol
I couldnt have said it any better Brian Ive been listening to Queensryche since the beginning and no other band has touched my soul the way there music has ,to this day the memories of all the good times I had with my friends back in the 80's were special and We were all lucky to see them in concert and have the memories of it all the way back to there first album Queensryche
Val Faria well said! I have met Geoff and his personality and chrismatic is also unlike anyone else on Earth. Superb person with a termendous voice! I'm sorry that Queensrych went through the same crap that Van Halen and David Lee Roth had. Let's hope for a reunion by Queensrych someday.
Those guy's hay days were when I was at my 20s, and I somehow managed to miss them... I can't have enough of them now... One of the greatest of all times!
Loved this dvd ever since it came out, Geoff sounds hungry again, shame it didn't last, I've been a fan since day one, saddly not anymore, not the new stuff anyway, but man have we got some classic stuff to listen to, btw Kelly gray did an awesome job on this🤘
Very fortunate to have witnessed Queensryche back in the early 80's, in concert. They captured me back then and to this day, with their sound originality, clean guitar riffs and one-of-a-kind vocals...truly, a very unique and once in a life-time line up! Many great memories with this awesome band! I had to hare this video with my jr. high school friend, a bit ago...thanks for the memory.
Wow the sound on this Vid is fantastic! I miss these guys so much. What a great time I had listening to them in the 80's and 90's. Tate was a freakin Vocal God. I can't think of many that could belt it out like he did. Most Vocalists' heads would explode trying to carry their voice like he did here.
This is incredible, by far my favorite band of all-time. Great performances from all. Miss these days. QR took many of us of a visual journey and invoked our thoughts to a new level.
From 2001, this was a special gift performance to their home town fans, recorded and released as both a DVD and double CD called "Live Evolution". This was after Q2K (a great album!) when Kelly Gray was still in the band as Chris DeGarmo's replacement. Kelly did the audio production on this and it is amazing, probably the best sounding live album I've ever heard. The band all were in absolute top form here! Geoff's performance on this is pure gold.
I saw them on this tour in SF! Was right upfront and lost it when they did NM156, which they put later in the set. That song has become prophetic of our dystopian future somehow, almost 40 years later. So glad I saw them with Geoff. The most epic Metal IS Operatic! 🤘🤘🎼🎭💀
Was there for the Operation Mind Crime Tours in San Diego, L.A., SF, New Orleans, Atlanta, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Alabama, Kansas City. I was in Denver 2013 at a small club and was walking by. Bought a ticket and loved every minute of it. Was it the same? It doesn't matter it was Queensryche!!
Regardless of which camp you fall under during the current situation; it is undeniable that this performance is absolutley fantastic, even without Chris. And neither incarnation since has been this good.
Great version of this show! 5 out of 5 stars! Tate has one of the most recognizable voices in the heavy rock world. You needed to have your ears checked at the time of your comment. Tate clearly had already lost his long, high note ability by then. Sounded good but far, far from his best days.
Queensryche was from the future, now they're in the past due to their own egos. When life gives you this sort of chemistry, you stick with it...you just do, and you never look back.
Geoff is STILL and will ALWAYS be the VOICE of Queensryche.
At his best, he was THE best !!
