My brother and I were there in 1991 for this concert. I saved the ticket stub even. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. The entire band was extremely professional and blew us away. Still listening to them today!!
@@ianmason2003 I remember seeing the first concert without him with Q2K with that Kelly dude, it was horrible and I knew this band would never be the same, should have ended after that Grunge album imo.
When Queensryche released their debut EP everyone who loved metal knew they were all ready on a different planet musically. Powerful progressive melodic masters.
Everyone in this band is phenomenal. All play their instruments great! Geoffs voice is second to none! Their harmony is awesome. My favorite band ever!

When they toured for empire, they played operation from start to finish. It was as mind blowing as it was unexpected. I thought I died and went to different realms of the universe.
This is heavily cleaned up but I will say this, the earlier shows did not have the bass presence from the gear that this era carried. It was a HUGE difference because you could feel it. They were very good live and Tate. just wow back then.
Most talented, hardest-working band of the 80's and 90's. Queensryche was the entire package. Saw this tour twice in one week. Wouldn't trade that Mindcrime experience for any other.
No, dude. They came at the right time. They wouldn’t have fit in the grunge and alternative ‘90s or in the last 25 years either. ‘80s were the perfect time for them.
The album after Mindcrime was Empire, the tour I saw. In the middle of the concert they began the Mindcrime album, and from the first 5 seconds you just knew there's no way to play that beginning without finishing the whole album, and they did. Everyone lost their shit knowing that, and all lighters came aflame. Fantastic stuff, I'm here to tell ya.
You do know the video of these 2 Mindcrime songs is from the 1991 Building Empires Tour? It comes from the Operation: Livecrime video which shows the whole live Mindcrime segment of that tour when they were in Wisconsin.. To see the whole show with the Empire songs when they were in Toronto, watch this: th-cam.com/video/DOaWRBYP7SQ/w-d-xo.html
well to be honest, there are instances where Geoff will sing a part slightly different than he did on the album. So I wouldn't say it sounds exactly the same, but I agree they do get closer than any other band I've seen/heard
I saw them when they were touring with Metallica. I was simply amazed how Geoff sang exactly same as on the record. He could hit very high notes back then.
Scott Rockenfield was definitely far too underrated as Queensrÿche's drummer. Great sound, and so unique. No one else played or sounded like Scott. Miss his drumming, that's for sure.
I still can`t get enough of them, the music, the vocals, the show - especially from Geoff I can't get enough. He is still a vocal god and his energy is amazing! And by the way, he is still so fucking hot! Yesterday I visit his show and was totaly blown away! Though I wish the old line up back, he and his new musicians did a great job. They are really good together.
it's amazing how certain songs, certain music can take you back in time...just close your eyes and smell, feel and hear the past...I loved these songs then..love them now..a brilliant , underrated album...
Raymond Lalmuana Not really underrated, this album has been voted the best hard rock, metal concept album ever! Kerrang and metal edge voted operation as the best concept album ever, till today nothing surpasses this album ahead of its time...
Exactly, this album is not and has never been underrated. Why do people say this... Sometimes I think people need to look up the term "underrated" and understand its meaning.
This has to be one of the most amazing live performances I've ever heard. I'm a huge fan of the band RUSH and, this is almost equal to their live sound. THAT SAYS A LOT!!!
This was from a time of perfection in live music. Queensryche was underrated and when whole their writing/performance skills were unmatched. No single piece of featured talent, just a combination of VERY skilled musicians that applied their education and imagination. Miss them badly.
Hell you guys Geoff invited me into their tour bus ,got all there autographs .I hungout with the whole band for about 30 minutes .Queensryche .The best ,unreal . .one of the best concerts ever...

BS he was flawless on the Livecrime tour and the Empire tours. I rather doubt any band has ever sound closer to studio before or since. Not my favorite live show from back in the day but a flawless performances in Norfolk.
Saw them open for Metallica in 89 or 90 in support of this album, I was young and a Metallica fan that never paid no attention to Queesryche before then, hands down they blew Metallica off the stage not only in performance but also amazing sound. Still probably the best live band I've seen to this day!
Yep, saw the same tour. I actually went mainly for Queensryche, but was still blown away to see an "opener" destroy a headliner like they did. They were SO on their game.
I saw that tour as well my friend. I was a Ryche fan seeing Metallica. It was good show, what I remember. I was into Queensryche heavily since the Warning Album
I've been listening to Queensryche since the 7th grade. I still listen to them today and love the music , so many memories !! This was a mind blowing performance !!! Geoff Tates vocals are beyond amazing !! Phenomenal band !!!!
for me queensryche is their amazing rithm section, probably the best in histroty of rock. Eddie Jackson and Scott Rockenfield were hart and soul of their music.
They used to do a killer dual solo back on the Warning and Rage tours, but as they matured, they seemed to be more into playing the music and making it more uniform. Badass pros.
Saw them in Seattle several times and every time it was perfect. I didn't realize it then but now that I'm an old man I realize I was watching the best live shows that I will ever see in my lifetime. I've tried to think of a show that had a better live sound and... I... just... can't.

I don't know about KNEW. Suspected? Yes. Rage for Order was the proof
Rage for the oder was
Not the ep queensryche
Was the ep
Their first EP was out of this world 4 titles and a true trademark
This is the peak of Queensrÿche, the peak of heavy metal
Tate's voice is so real and pure. No fancy machines to make him sound so awesome, it is his voice that is so powerful.
Everyone in this band is phenomenal. All play their instruments great! Geoffs voice is second to none! Their harmony is awesome. My favorite band ever!
Yea, the first I heard was Rage for Order " Walk in the Shadows" back in high school....was hooked ever since...30+ years later.

Geoff Tate and Chris DeGarmo ruled in 80's.

I'm enthralled by Geoff Tate. Otherworldly looks and voice.
For me, they were the best metal band in history. Still my no1 band and I’m 54
How the hell the instruments sounds as same as the album? What a band, what a performance.. Just perfect.

NO CRAP , THESE GUYS WERE AWESOME IN CONCERT!!
They put on the best live show I’ve ever seen!
I saw them live during Empire tour and they played all of Operation Mindcrime. It sounded spotless and perfect.
Thats the difference between the men and the boys
I was obsessed with them back in the day but I had no idea they were such great live performers.
Eddie Jackson.... Amazing bassist and what a killer tone!
Spector!!
EdBass and Henrik from Avatar are the main reason I own a Spector. Supreme tone.
My favorite alongside Adam Kury and Jason Newstead

Iron Maiden sounds like their studio albums live. Hell they even sounded tighter than Dream Theater when I saw them about 10 years ago.
Still love this band to this day. Truly one of the best in the 80's!!!!!
Chis DeGarmo, best guitar player ever. Geoff Tate, best singer ever. I wish these guys would get back together.

Such kick ass tunes, but also openly and rawly emotional. Wanna headbang and cry at the same time.
