What a great old chair!! I can attest that being old doesn't mean you've got no life left in you 😉. It looks great!!! Perfect for little guy to enjoy the view! Adorable!!!
Thank you! 😊 Absolutely, aging is just another word for living! Thank you for tuning in again!
From an Aussie to a Kiwi, you did a superb job on this little chair. I honestly thought it was a lost cause! Great restoration and I very much enjoy your commentary on each restoration.👍🏼
Hey Kiwi. I'm finding older videos of your work on my TH-cam. I'm enjoying all of them😊
You have inspired me. I have seven chairs from 1960.
It would be great if I can make mine look as good as yours.
Always great to hear a familiar accent on TH-cam! We had these chairs at primary school in the 70s - I reckon they were in every church hall, school and country hall. They never looked as good as yours, but. Great job!
Beautiful transformation! The star of the show though was the cutie pie sitting in the chair! 😉😊❤
Thank you! 😊 Yes, I agree :)
I don’t know what happened to my notifications but I almost missed this one. I can’t believe that your little acorn is getting so grown up and sitting on his own.
Love the restoration too.
Me either, it's crazy how fast they grow! Thank you for tuning in again :)
I love the look; repaired old chair as opposed to a brand new, modern look.
Thank you very much :)
I love your narration and how you researched the chair. The baby and dog at the end were priceless…new sub!
Beautiful restoration of the old chair 🎉🎉🎉
You did a great job in restoring this folding chair. It looks phenomenal.

Спасибо за видео, отличная работа!

Haha, it's a good one ;)
Cute chair! Saved from landfill and very useful! You did a great job ❤
Thank you! 😊 Appreciate you watching and commenting!
That’s one cute chair made even cuter by your gorgeous baby and dog! What a great save. Every piece of furniture you restore gives you more confidence. It’s great advice about colouring your filler to the wood and remember that sanding is more as usually veneer is very thin and so easy to sand through. I came across your channel by accident and can’t wait to see what you do next. Thanks again for sharing your work with us.
Awesome job! your kid gets cuter each vid!
Thanks for watching, yes I agree - he does!
Nice result. I can't believe it was painted in the first place. The woodgrain looks much better.
I love that you take the tattiest of pieces and save them into something quite beautiful and also useful! 😊
Thank you very much, I appreciate that! :)
❤ thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching your videos very much
I'm so glad! Thank you, I really appreciate you watching :)
My grandma had four of these. I remember h r taking them to the pa k when I was little for the Sunday evening band concerts and to the local parades
Beautiful! Looks really elegant - maybe more so than the original with painted metal parts. Greetings from Germany! ❤
Thank you! 😊 I think I prefer without the paint also 😎

Good job ! Hello from Belgium 🇧🇪😃
Well done!
Beautiful ❤
wow it looks so good. great job
Thank you very much :)
Great job!
Thank you!
Love this! Great work! Not much to do about rivets but drill them out. Then replace with a rivet tool.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I’ll have to do some research on the rivet tool you have mentioned - it certainly wasn’t easy getting them back in with the technique I used!
Great save!!
Cheers Angie 😎 Appreciate it 🙏
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Good work! Bravo!
Thank you! Cheers!
Always great to see a pretty much trash piece and refurbish it back into a nice useable piece again... Thumbs Up!
Thanks Gary, appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment :)
Très beau résultat, cette chaise est vraiment belle ❤
Merci j'apprécie
Nice work brother…it looks great!!
Thank you :)
those are nice chairs. I have 4 of them. People never seem to be able to figure out how to fold them up or unfold them..
great job
Outstanding work ☺☺
Thank you, very kind 😎
You are doing a great job saving the wood and not throwing in the trash 😅❤. I see other who used a needle and syringe and inserted glue like a shot and saves the wood from damage try it

Kiwi!!
I have a chair that is quite close in style to this one. Mine has a nasty nick on the top of the back panel. Seeing this restoration has me hoping to get to restoring mine sooner than later. Great job! Just subscribed. Will check out your other vids! T from AZ!
Turned out beautiful. Well done sir
Thank you kindly, appreciate that 😎
I didn’t have much hope for that plywood, but it turned out amazing.
Me either, turned out better than I was expecting!
Very good!

Omg Cole, missed you being on TH-cam
Had to take a short break as moving but hopefully back on track for regular uploads now!
@@flipitnation I missed you
Hermosa silla!
Curious why bondo and not wood filler for those repairs. I've never used it and assuming it is stronger and i've heard it cures quicker. Your thought? I'd love to find a chair like that!! Your work is amazing but that beautiful chubby cheeked baby is your best work yet!! Masterpiece!!!
I have used a few wood fillers and they definitely serve their purpose but the reason I chose bondo for this project was - it is much stronger and being a chair that will need to hold weight, I felt bondo might be the better option. The wood fillers I have used are quite soft and don't cure quite as hard as the bondo. And yes, it dries very quickly (15- 30 mins and you can sand it) but wood filler really needs to sit over night. Oh, and I totally agree with the masterpiece, he is my pride and joy! I think my viewers generally just tune in for a glimpse of him these days ;)
cheers cobber from Timaru
Wow - where did you find the rivets? I have a restore project of four chairs that has been stalled for years for lack of rivets.
Acabo de conocer tu canal y me gustó mucho. Saludos desde el norte de México.
¡Muchas gracias por mirar, lo aprecio!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
top sympa ¡ j'aime bien cette chaise
Merci j'apprécie

I´m no professional but I would choose some better seal than beeswax after applying wood stain
What is the two-part wood filler? (white and red; mixed together and used to fill holes in the seat) Is it epoxy?
Have you ever tried Howards Feed n Wax? I don't know if you can get it there or here in Australia. Apparently it's very good. It has an orange smell. 😊 😊😊😊
I haven't but I'll look it up and see if I can get my hands on it. Thank you for the recommendation :)
Lovely save. Kia kaha from Taranaki.

I have a similar chair. Thought it was an American 1940s army folding chair.
You are correct! The design for the Storkline looks to have been adapted from an almost identical American chair designed by Walter Nordmark and produced by The American Seating Co. The Storkline is patented in NZ in 1947 while the Walter Nordmark Chair is patented in the United States in 1943.
Thanks for the information. The chair was being thrown out and I managed to save it, surprisingly comfortable and stylish design.
If you had dyed the epoxy filler you wouldn't have had to go around and paint every individual patch.
Excuse me you have a sheep in your backyard 😆
Not just any sheep! This one retrieves tennis balls and expects us to pick up his poop in return 🤣🤣
If I can make a comment if you use dental floss speed the glue under the piece you are trying to glue down it helps to spreed it all the way under the piece
Didnt like the turm my old man he is you dad apart from that a good video
The result of the work is WONDERFUL. But the way of filming is hopeless!
I generally get good feedback on my filming technique but I guess a can’t appease everyone. Perhaps you could elaborate on what style you would have preferred and I’ll take it into consideration. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
