- Watch The Blues Brothers give a back-to-back performance on two classic songs: Everybody Needs Somebody to Love and Sweet Home Chicago
From "The Blues Brothers": when brothers Joe and Jake Elwood discover the orphanage in which they were raised is destined to be forecloseed, the pair set out on "a mission from God" to raise the $5000 needed to pay the orphanage's property tax bill. Deciding that the best way to do it is to reunite their old R&B band, the brothers encounter a homicidal "mystery woman" (Carrie Fisher), Neo-Nazis, and a country and western band - all while being relentlessly pursued by the police.

R.I.P John Belushi, James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Carrie Fisher, Henry Gibson, John Candy, John Lee Hooker, Kathleen Freeman, Jeff Morris and Paul Reubens😥
Also Cab Calloway
R I P .
RIP.. They are dancing in heaven
You left out Cabb Callaway.😮😢
Rip, all talented in their own way, actor, singer etc.
SNL has never again spawned anything as great as the Blues Brothers.
Wayne's World
agreed nothing like the Blues Brothers
may I try and make a case for Ted Lasso?
The greatest music movie of all time
Never heard of ''Purple Rain?''
100%
@GHOSTLYWHISPERS I've heard of that movie and even seen it, but the Blues Brothers was all about the music from a variety of artists. The story was the mean to showcase the music
Movie was good.
Yes
Akroyd's energy during this performance is unmatched.
Credit to Colombia's most famous export!
For real, Dan Akroyd is what makes it 🤣 funny.
When the Blues Brothers hit Saturday Night Live in the 70's, a whole new world was opened. These two guys played off each other to the max. Dan Ackroyd's dance steps and harmonica solos always make me smile...
Remember it was the first show of the new season. Things We Did Last Summer!! I was floored. Couldn't believe how good they were!
Absolutely
Got to be one of the most accomplished bands ever -still relevant still better than most
I was born 2 decades later but I watch the movie real early with my father and ever since I've loves blues ❤
First time l watched this Movie l was part of the Royal Marine detachment on HMS Rhyl .We had been at sea 6 weeks, and this was shown on movie Night in the ratings galley.
Loved the film ever since and , l have never understood why it didn't do well at the box office .
Rip, John B
I happen to be there.
About row 7,
Stage rite.
Won the extra tickets
from KMET.
BEST party I ever been to.
Thanx Blues
Brothers
P.s it was @the
Hollywood Palladium I
There were a lot of
production times with John Landis.
After awhile, they were
ready to go.
And where's John,
He's upstairs partying
with the young girls.
Go John B.
Did they ask you all to be quiet after Belushi did his cart well?
@@WyoCutlass71 No, he did those cartwheels about 5-6 times.
Producer, John Landis wanted many takes.
How cool is that!! Did Belushi do these cartwheels himself or is it a double?
Remember when they used to make cool movies like this?
Dan and John's moves and vocals and Dan's harmonica was so awesome. Raw talent. We lost John way ro soon.
Two Johns in this clip we lost too early, Belushi & Candy. 😢
Cab Calloway, the GOAT of big bands.
We need this more than ever now
Just thinking the same
I still maintain that the Blues Brothers movie is more than comedy it's one of the best musicals ever
One of the greatest song performances in movie history.....RIP and play on!
I love how he welcomes all the representatives of the Illinois law enforcement community, who he knows he will have to contend with after the show. John Candy's performance in this movie is sometimes overlooked. He was great.
orange whip?
John Candy is 1 of my fav actors ever an tbh just a fkn nice guy who was also very funny really miss him theres not many people who can make you smile just by being on your screen
Boy, talk about "winning over an audience", the Blues Brothers will do it every time.
Blue Brothers musical numbers are a mood-altering substance.
Ce lui là dans les 5🎉
I absolutely love this movie. I must have seen it a hundred times. Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi were a perfect team. I loved all the performers like Cab, John Candy, Aretha. Sad to think so many of them are gone now.
And Carrie Fisher. . . R I P
I have both flimson CD and tape plus al l the Beatles no need for any more
So LUCKY and Glad that all of these Legends were in one movie together!!!!! The ENTIRE movie was Pure Magic! Scores a solid 25 on a scale of 1 to 10!!! Cab's Magical transformation to "Back in the Day" and Aretha wearing her slippers in the diner, and John's cartwheel I could go on longer than the movie's run time! This was back when Horriblewood actually produced GOOD movies that EVERYONE wanted to watch. This is one of the greatest Musicals of ALL TIME! Thank you, Producers, Writers, Stars AND Crew, especially the shot of the crew at the end was genuine CLASS! As a matter of fact, I'm going to rewatch the movie right dang now!!! Haw, Haw, Haw, Haw! (John Lee Hooker)
I watched this movie every day for about 10 years straight
It is all but impossible to sit still during this!!!🥳 RIP John Belushi, John Candy, Cab and others! Boy, those were the days!
I saw the Blues Brothers in concert in 1981 at the Long Beach arena. They opened up for Steve Martin.
The whole band was there.
Greatest concert I've ever been to.
you lucky b***(**d. I envy you.
Man I bet that was so much fun
@@BattousaiX333
It was.
The iconic bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn on the back.
Man for the longest time I always thought it was “big” John Wallace from Harry Chapin.

❤
H and I are now in our 70’s and 3 “children” now in their 40’s, but we all agree that this is the best musical ever. Family favourite video watched over and over, never get tired of it and still makes us laugh, and at family parties we love to “Shake a tail feather “
Also been to various Brothers shows and tributes. Long live the Blues Brothers ❤️❤️
March 5 2024 ,marked the 42nd anniversary of John Belushi's passing. You still live on in your work and performances what more could've been if you were still with us.
I love Donald "Duck" Dunn with his pipe... just so cool!
I’m 24 but I’ve seen this film since I was 5. Elwood and Jake are cool dudes . And “ The Band “🔥
My favorite movie ever. More combined talent in that movie than in all of Hollywood now and for generations to come.
Uy
a real masterpiece. I remember having seen the movie 3 times in a week when it came out as I wanted all of friends to discover it ....
As a 5yr old and watched this movie every weekend until my teenz and still love it into my 40s
You truly are a good friend ❤
I remember the movie blue s Brothers were great. I miss John . I’m 75 yrs old now!! Great movie Lu
The guitar intro of Sweet Home Chicago, just a great classic
Dan and John were fabulous and so talented. They were awesome together
so true
Several of my friends were crowd extras in this concert scene. Thanks KMET 94.7 The Greatest Rock and Roll station EVER. WWWWWHHHHHOOOOYYYYYAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must've been the best act of the last 40yrs. No Shit!!❤❤❤
Those cartwheels! Did Belushi really do them? Unbelieveable. Real talent. 67 and still loving them!
Only movie, blues brothers 1and 2 I saw in a theatre. Lucky to lived to see both movies and miss Aretha Franklin. Best blues music ever 👌
I’m sorry John’s gone. What a tragedy.
I have to say though, to Dan, wherever in this world you call home, I hope sometimes when you are by yourself, or with people you love, and the right song is playing… I hope your feet still move in ways that show all the world what joy really looks like. Just like you did in this performance. Wonderful wonderful performance.
Can't tell you how many times i watch this movie 👍🏿🔥🔥🔥
Lou Marini on alto sax (formerly with Blood, Sweat, & Tears). Steve Cropper on guitar and Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass (both formerly with Booker T & the MG's). Lots of talent in the Blue Bros band.
They don't make movies like this no more.
Nope' they sure don't and this was absolutely one to go down in history
The is car number 55 - we're in a truck! lol
As they do not make folks as thee
@@rw-xf4cbNew Oldsmobiles are out early this year
Talent like this doesn’t exist anymore.
Ikr
Certainly not in Chicago today.
Chris Farley was the last of dying breed
Yes it does, you have to look a bit more. Some people are shy and too timid to be seen in big crowds and I can't sing but out of tune.. So I'm out
Yes it does it's inside of you go to your local karaoke bar
Blues Brothers is my favorite movie it's classic.
I need You is Jake and Elwood's finest performance, and one of the best movie scenes ever made.
I remember seeing people of all nationalities laughing out loud and singing along while watching this movie in the theater. Belushi, like many of the great comedians of that time , knew how to bring people together to have a great time.
My wife does not understand why I like this movie .
Because it brilliant!!
I'm sorry.
Non capisce ? Mi dispiace ma è un film della nostra epoca che non dimenticheremo mai !
You have to change your wife
Great R&B, a demented jilted lover complete with rocket launcher, neo-Nazis, James Brown as a preacher, Ray Charles as a music shop owner, a classic chase scene; who but John Landis could have thrown this all together and made such a memorable romp? I never tire of watching this zaniness.
My number one song EVER!!! Whenever this comes on the radio I have to drop what I'm doing and DANCE!!! Whether I'm at home or at work, this is 3 minutes of letting go.
Just People living in the Moment. Not a Phone in sight.
Not like we had a choice! Don't give us too much credit!!😅😂
Okay boomer
You are so right let music do talking
It’s a film scene dum dum
This was the 1980's, you think they had camera phones back then 😂
As a kid I absolutely loved this film, watched it dozens of times.. seeing these clips now as an adult is making me teary... how great this is, was.. how great they are, were....man 😿 something special you feel in your soul even though it was meant as comedy.. 😿😭
still my favorite movie ever. They never make movies like this anymore..cause they can't...they don't have actors with natural charisma and character like these guys have. Man, I miss that time!
I saw the blues brothers live in Baltimore and John Belusi really Did the back flips live!!
He was amazing…I’m sure he was coked up to the max
Yeah, that's why he's dead!
@@everready19373 Thank you for reminding us, Cap'n Obvious. He had more talent in his short life than your whole family tree. I'm right aren't I?
Snowing from his nostrils. Such a talent though.
Akroyd & Belushi- priceless,awesome & irreplaceable!
Agreed!
RIP Olivia Newton John and Donna Sommer
He will live in are hearts forever.......John Belushi.....thank you for the great memories......
This movie was exactly what I needed when it came out.
Long live THE BLUES BROTHERS. ❤
Let's hope that they are all in a better place. R.I.P. indeed
This movie will always be a classic
The best musical ever put on the silver screen. The for words that haunt me ever time I watch this classic is , "What could have been". RIP JOHN
Yes
I took my dad to see this movie when it came out, thinking he would like the music. He loved it♥.
The sound track was so good I rushed out and bought the lp
ブルースブラザーズを、また日本のテレビ局で放送してほしいです。何回見ても飽きない名作です。
So ist es. Nur bitte auch in Deutschland🙏👍
最初にブルース・ブラザースを同じカッコで紹介してたのはキャブキャロウェイ?
The World needed just a few good movies. The Blues Brothers 1&2 Josey Wales and The Unforgiven
Go. My. B L U E S Brother. That s. Right
Love the Blues Brothers with my heart and soul, and the music is OUTSTANDING! Also love the fact that those guys are all actual musicians not actors pretending.
Well, yeah, the back-up guys are all (were, anyway) well established studio/session musicians.
The fact that so many real musicians are in this movie just makes it feel so much more real. As if everything in the movie actually happened 😂
Jake and Elwood always remember you 2023 ❤❤❤❤❤
What a film. Amazing that they are doing it for real.🥰
One of the best musicals ever made.
What a fantastic cast. Just great music that never ages. Timeless. 😊😊
"We're on a mission from God..."
saw them in TO when they drove the big car with 2 big plaYground speakers on the roof----they were called the BOOZE BROS
@@alexshatzko1381 Apparently they had a part of the film's budget set aside for "a mountain of cocaine." Looking back, considering how Belushi died it was probably not the best thing to indulge him in his habit that way. Phenomenal performances by both John and Dan though.
My sister took me to see the Blues Brothers when it first came out. I had never really heard the blues before. Love at first listen.
My cousin took me to see it. It is a great movie 🎥.
Omfg! I always thought Jim was the best, but holy fuck! Dan ackroyd is hilarious. Dans the man for sure. 😂😂😂😂😂
The best Film in the universe ever
True entertainment they way they dance together. One of a kind never again.
The Blues Brothers was a great movie, and it was made in Chicago which is my hometown. Elwood and Jake could dance very well. I give this video a few thumbs up. 👍👍👍. Now here is a bouquet of flowers to Elwood and Jake. 💐💐 Now here is a sweet kiss to both of them from Kathy💋💋👩👩.May John Belushi rest in peace.
That was beautiful.I have not seen that clip in many years. BB will live on forever.
These people watched John goddamn Belushi do a whole ass front flip and sat silently. Talk about a tough crowd 😂
Blues on the next level, from the 70s !!!
One of, if not the, best films ever made.
The most energetic movie i have ever seen; no one will make a reboot of this, thank`s to the penguins of heaven!
Love these guys ❤😊😊😊 great music
What a Brilliant part of Time !!!
Sometime in the early 80's, my dad hired Cab Calloway, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys (sans Brian Wison) and others I can't recall for a retro music festival at the Clark County fairgrounds in Vancouver, WA. I think it was 1980 and I was 10 years old. He borrowed a lot of money from friends and family to pull it off, and after he started selling tickets, the county came in and told him he had to fence off the area, greatly limiting audience space and the amount of tickets he could sell. The show did go on, but he ended up losing a ton of money, screwing over friends and family, and fleeing them and the IRS. He hid out in Hot Springs, AR for more than 20 years. He did end up contacting the IRS and getting a great deal and no charges. He's back in Washington today. Rod Williams is his name.
Absolute gem of a movie. Easily top 3 musicals . If u can call it a musical. From my memory it was pretty well overlooked when first released, glad i found in in an old Blockbuster video store
My favorite movie. My favorite musical. This was the very first VHS tape I ever watched in 1983. I believe I read somewhere that John's father was a gym teacher and that really is John doing the acrobatics, not a stunt double.
Such a wonderful team! This brought back fond memories, thank you!
Iam crying every time .😢😢😢.every body need some body....................
The one and only real Blues Bro´s 🎸🎷
The music in this movie is off the chain ❤❤❤
Man theses guys have a great crew.
memories of my youth,I loved those guys!!! funny and talented plus they put on some great concerts!!!
tellin me
The dance they're doing together right before the end is pure genius!
I get a great laugh every time I see it... I've watched the movie many times since it first came out 8n theaters.
Every body needs someone to love💓💓💓💓
The moment of silence is beautiful❤
This movie was funny and the music was excellent. The people who played their roles in acting and made the movie did a very very good job.👍
Beautiful
These guys and John Candy made the 80s in comedy cinema
Absolutely agree the vest of their era!!
Great song and movie luv it 💜💜🎶🕯️😇
i fking love this film
A classic cast, a classic movie!!
Elwood's sweet moves! My sister and brother and I watched this movie at the Coliseum Drive in. I never heard him laugh so much!
They will never make another movie like this , legend actors it was great
When you get caught between the moon and New York City, the best that you can do is Fall in Love.
Oh great this was so much fun, now I have to find my DVD so I can watch the movie again 😂😂 Love this movie 😍
One of great sounds of any age!
