@GHOSTLYWHISPERS I've heard of that movie and even seen it, but the Blues Brothers was all about the music from a variety of artists. The story was the mean to showcase the music
I love how he welcomes all the representatives of the Illinois law enforcement community, who he knows he will have to contend with after the show. John Candy's performance in this movie is sometimes overlooked. He was great.
John Candy is 1 of my fav actors ever an tbh just a fkn nice guy who was also very funny really miss him theres not many people who can make you smile just by being on your screen
not in the same genre, but to me it's one of those rare movies that encapsulates so many genres. I think of Swayze's "Ghost" being part comedy, romance, thriller. The Blues Brothers ropes in action, comedy, musical. it seems the art of Hollywood taking a risk and giving us something artistic is long gone.
BLUES BROTHERS WILL LIVE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!! Never get tired of seeing clips or even the full movies of this series. So many amazing actors, actresses and musicians!!! =]
When the Blues Brothers hit Saturday Night Live in the 70's, a whole new world was opened. These two guys played off each other to the max. Dan Ackroyd's dance steps and harmonica solos always make me smile...
First time l watched this Movie l was part of the Royal Marine detachment on HMS Rhyl .We had been at sea 6 weeks, and this was shown on movie Night in the ratings galley. Loved the film ever since and , l have never understood why it didn't do well at the box office .

March 5 2024 ,marked the 42nd anniversary of John Belushi's passing. You still live on in your work and performances what more could've been if you were still with us.
Our first date to see the Blues Brothers. I married that girl and now has been 43 years. The theater has been torn down but our marriage is going strong. Plus love this movie.
H and I are now in our 70’s and 3 “children” now in their 40’s, but we all agree that this is the best musical ever. Family favourite video watched over and over, never get tired of it and still makes us laugh, and at family parties we love to “Shake a tail feather “ Also been to various Brothers shows and tributes. Long live the Blues Brothers ❤️❤️
I saw the Blues Brothers in concert in 1981 at the Long Beach arena. They opened up for Steve Martin. The whole band was there. Greatest concert I've ever been to.
Several of my friends were crowd extras in this concert scene. Thanks KMET 94.7 The Greatest Rock and Roll station EVER. WWWWWHHHHHOOOOYYYYYAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love this movie. I must have seen it a hundred times. Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi were a perfect team. I loved all the performers like Cab, John Candy, Aretha. Sad to think so many of them are gone now.
So LUCKY and Glad that all of these Legends were in one movie together!!!!! The ENTIRE movie was Pure Magic! Scores a solid 25 on a scale of 1 to 10!!! Cab's Magical transformation to "Back in the Day" and Aretha wearing her slippers in the diner, and John's cartwheel I could go on longer than the movie's run time! This was back when Horriblewood actually produced GOOD movies that EVERYONE wanted to watch. This is one of the greatest Musicals of ALL TIME! Thank you, Producers, Writers, Stars AND Crew, especially the shot of the crew at the end was genuine CLASS! As a matter of fact, I'm going to rewatch the movie right dang now!!! Haw, Haw, Haw, Haw! (John Lee Hooker)
My number one song EVER!!! Whenever this comes on the radio I have to drop what I'm doing and DANCE!!! Whether I'm at home or at work, this is 3 minutes of letting go.
I’m sorry John’s gone. What a tragedy. I have to say though, to Dan, wherever in this world you call home, I hope sometimes when you are by yourself, or with people you love, and the right song is playing… I hope your feet still move in ways that show all the world what joy really looks like. Just like you did in this performance. Wonderful wonderful performance.
Lou Marini on alto sax (formerly with Blood, Sweat, & Tears). Steve Cropper on guitar and Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass (both formerly with Booker T & the MG's). Lots of talent in the Blue Bros band.
Great R&B, a demented jilted lover complete with rocket launcher, neo-Nazis, James Brown as a preacher, Ray Charles as a music shop owner, a classic chase scene; who but John Landis could have thrown this all together and made such a memorable romp? I never tire of watching this zaniness.
still my favorite movie ever. They never make movies like this anymore..cause they can't...they don't have actors with natural charisma and character like these guys have. Man, I miss that time!
Love the Blues Brothers with my heart and soul, and the music is OUTSTANDING! Also love the fact that those guys are all actual musicians not actors pretending.
My favorite movie. My favorite musical. This was the very first VHS tape I ever watched in 1983. I believe I read somewhere that John's father was a gym teacher and that really is John doing the acrobatics, not a stunt double.
The Blues Brothers was a great movie, and it was made in Chicago which is my hometown. Elwood and Jake could dance very well. I give this video a few thumbs up. 👍👍👍. Now here is a bouquet of flowers to Elwood and Jake. 💐💐 Now here is a sweet kiss to both of them from Kathy💋💋👩👩.May John Belushi rest in peace.
I remember seeing people of all nationalities laughing out loud and singing along while watching this movie in the theater. Belushi, like many of the great comedians of that time , knew how to bring people together to have a great time.
Absolute gem of a movie. Easily top 3 musicals . If u can call it a musical. From my memory it was pretty well overlooked when first released, glad i found in in an old Blockbuster video store
WOW!! Can you imagine being an extra and being in the auditorium when this was filmed???? I would have not cared if it took hours to film .... Lucky dawgs!!!

R.I.P John Belushi, James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Carrie Fisher, Henry Gibson, John Candy, John Lee Hooker, Kathleen Freeman, Jeff Morris and Paul Reubens😥
Also Cab Calloway

RIP.. They are dancing in heaven
You left out Cabb Callaway.😮😢
Rip, all talented in their own way, actor, singer etc.
SNL has never again spawned anything as great as the Blues Brothers.
Wayne's World
agreed nothing like the Blues Brothers
may I try and make a case for Ted Lasso?
Chicago native here, absolutely the truth.... second City TV...half of the band was stax record people back in the day long live, the real blues.. sweet home Chicago
Seriously!
The greatest music movie of all time
Never heard of ''Purple Rain?''

I still maintain that the Blues Brothers movie is more than comedy it's one of the best musicals ever
'One of the best' is partly right. Instead, 'the best' would be more than appropriate.😉

Did they ask you all to be quiet after Belushi did his cart well?
@@WyoCutlass71 No, he did those cartwheels about 5-6 times.
Producer, John Landis wanted many takes.
How cool is that!! Did Belushi do these cartwheels himself or is it a double?

Wow. When music made you feel good rather than hate each other.
when listening to modern music makes you feel hate, then the problem is not with the music but within you
